Today is the only day you can reblog this
“Of course, a big difference is that there is a simultaneous rebellion against the national leadership of the Democratic Party. Everyone’s been talking about it for months. It has deep roots. But the basic outlines go back to March of last year when Democrats had their first shot for a showdown with Donald Trump, to force him to the table over his unfolding war against the federal government and democratic governance and decided … just not to. From that moment there’s been a howling gulf between Democratic voters and their top elected officials — a basic sense of ‘are we seeing the same thing?’ To a growing number of Democratic voters, their elected leaders, especially in Washington, D.C., have seemed just not up to the challenge of challenging Donald Trump or simply not interested in doing so.”

As if Joanne couldn't get any shittier, she misgendered and insulted a woman who called for support, all because the woman had PCOS/PMOS and "didn't sound feminine enough."
Fuck her.
Your shitty children's series isn't more important than people's lives.
This would be equally as shitty if the woman who was misgendered and insulted was trans instead of having PCOS btw
This is an official anti-JKR post
I think its pretty fucked up she's recording calls to a rape helpline tbh
piss poor reading comprehension???? simply drink water and you will have an abundance of piss

I'm flattered you say we piss on the rich
you’re going to have to sub to my onlyacolytes for that
Ray Bradbury’s short story “There Will Come Soft Rains” that was written in 1950 is set on the day of August 4th, 2026 (tomorrow)!! Now’s your chance to read it around the time it’s based in!
Audio: A recording of Leonard Nimoy reading it on Internet Archive.
Text: A PDF version.
Graphic Novel: On Internet Archive.
I used to set this one for second year undergraduate creative writing seminars on writing science fiction on a double bill with Octavia E. Butler's "Bloodchild" and no-one here gets out alive.
!!!! Today is the only chance we’ll ever have to listen to this absolute banger of apocalyptic fiction on the very day the story is set 😲✨
Nemoy’s voice is PERFECT in this!
(A content warning if you do listen - the dog dies, though it’s not super graphic)
I paused the robot vacuum so I could listen to this 1950’s story predicting the robot vacuum.
my mutuals are doing this to me
Bards are too powerful. They can learn mass suggestion. All they have to do is yell “Everybody clap your hands!” and make up to 12 people do the Cha Cha slid for 24 hours
…. a level 20 bard can force you to do the Cha Cha Slide for a year and a day
isnt it really cool how your memories can just physically attack you at random

To give more context: The reviewer was Jean Lorrain, who also was gay. Both showed up to the duel and both missed on purpose.
gay people can never just ask each other out
Endlessly diabolical how you can't say words like rape and suicide uncensored without either being criticised by idiots or punished by conglomerates.
It's not r*pe, it's rape. It's not su*cide, it's suicide. Not unalive, dead. The backbone needs to be reintroduced en masse because softening the blow of these concepts with advertising language does absolutely nothing but allow people unaffected by them to feel not even a sting of what they can do, prompting inaction.
And it's been proven that on certain websites, you don't even face a repercussion for using the words as they are. People just started censoring themselves because they feared the potential lack of views and likes and followers which is so nasty itself.
I attended an anti-suicide seminar in college. One of the big takeaways from it was that stigmatizing suicide increases the rate of suicide, because people who are feeling suicidal feel like they can't ask for help. Every time I see babytalk garbage like 'unalive', I think of that.
Use the real words. Words have power, and they matter.
does anybody know how to get out of bed. or be a better person
