Anyone with a chronic illness, or loved ones of those with one know that they somehow find a way into every part of your life until it's beyond overwhelmed the fear of how to make it through another day becomes a nightly visitor. I know how this feels, so I decided to fight fire with laughter! This is why I created the Facebook page Laugh Out Lyme and All Chronic Illnesses. As Mary Sira, one of our page followers said, “Sometimes laughing is the last thing you want to do when you deal with chronic illness, but once you let out a little giggle and then a couple more, you can’t help but feel uplifted, even if only for a second.” I believe it has taken off like crazy because sometimes the only thing that really can help you on those really tough days are giggles and side splitting laughter which can be found in abundance on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/laughoutlyme). There is NO advertising, fundraising, or talk about our illnesses on the page… Just laughter. In addition, check out our website which supports the Facebook-based laughter.
