One of the first things that started to get me to question trans rhetoric was the validation of delusions. This was a time where even in liberal areas being outed could result in violence. In trans forums in the 00s people would post pictures asking how well they passed. I would be blatantly honest because to me, walking into a space like this while not passing could mean violence.
