the “sexy lamp test” but for disabled folks: if you can replace your disabled character with a beloved pet dog that needs an expensive surgery to survive then you have to throw out your manuscript
reblogging one of my most underrated posts: the dying dog test
I’m gonna make my medical school advisees do this on their application essays too I think.
"TME/TMA is about genitals" people have yet to address that this makes it sound like they genuinely believe that cis men all have pussies and trans women all have dicks. Neither of which is fucking true.
I mean this in, the kindest way possible, this is one of many reasons why TME/TMA is important to discuss. The idea that nonbinary people cannot be transfem is a result of the massive amount of erasure of transfem nonbinary folk due to transmisogyny.
so weird leftists don't call out big food more remember when nestlé was responsible for over 10 million infant deaths in low and middle income countries i do

or the death and disease they have meticulously inflicted on the most vulnerable of brazil while undermining public health policy and education
as a trans man trying to make sense of the situation
transmisogyny is the intersection between transphobia and misogyny, im p sure. ive experienced misogyny since i was a kid yea, and now that im openly transgender i get oppressed for that too. i commonly get associated with my asab to no ones surprise and get transphobic jokes made at my expense, relating to my childhood experiences as a girl. is this not transmisogyny? /genq
it's transphobia and it's misogyny, but it's not transmisogyny. transmisogyny refers to the intersection of transphobia and misogyny faced specifically by trans women, which is very distinct from the one faced by trans men. because the two intersections are so dramatically different, the terminology is different too. trans men use their own terms to discuss their intersection
some really good points!!
Disgust has absolutely no ethical weight. If you are basing your ethical positions on the emotion of disgust you should stop, it is entirely unjustified and leads to a huge amount of harm.
Word for today: wisdom of repugnance
The logical fallacy that because something disgusts you it must be bad
this is probably the funniest example of a tumblr user simply not reading the post theyre reblogging at all
Reblog if you are a freak who is justifying their gross actions
so do you "love trans women" as in you like to fantasize about being fucked by a Scary Predatory Tranny, or do you love trans women?
gonna push harder on this one cause I consider myself kink positive, but I don't consider kinks to be beyond critical thought. and I think if your kinks align very closely with the narratives spun to oppress trans women by the right wing propaganda machine, you should examine that, especially if you proclaim to love trans women
we live in a culture that relentlessly ascribes dangerous, heavily sexualized stereotypes to trans women. it's honestly pretty mundane and unshocking that people would find this tantalizing and that it would inform their sexuality, just as it's mundane and unshocking that these stereotypes inform any other area of how someone thinks and feels. and I do think it's everyone's responsibility to unpack how their perception of trans women has been impacted by this. yes, even in the realm of kink and sexuality
transmisogynistic stereotypes are not heavily sexualized by coincidence. they're designed to be psychosexually powerful. the things that make them tantalizing are the things that make them so dangerous for trans women

YOU don’t have to be perfect to be loved. but I do
i'm not really into blondes but this is an objectively absurd connection to make
op may exaggerate but not entirely wrong--the association of blonde hair with youth and purity is an actual thing which ties into misogyny and white supremacy. epstein and co had a blonde obsession
it doesn't mean finding it attractive makes you inherently pedophilic, this is just kind of basic "we live in a society" sociology, and the concept of "pedophilia" itself cannot be separated from socially constructed ideals, one could question if it would even have appeal at all without the power imbalances present in the way children are viewed and treated as opposed to adults
I mean, neither narcissism nor pedophilia *should* be a diagnosis that exists in the first place. Is there any universe where such labels assigned lead to any positive outcome for anyone? The "treatment" that exists, if you can call it that, is not particularly useful for actual abuse prevention
Might be one of my controversial opinions though
