CERIDWEN One of the most poweful dieties in the Celtic mythology, also known as a wise goddess of sovereignty and creation (life ans death)/witch/ sorcerer, wife and mother. She is said to reside at Bala Lake, also known as Lake Tegid as a nod to her husband. Known in welsh lore as Awen, meaning poetic and inspirational, she was blessed with the ability of prophecy and wisdom. She is the welsh goddess of artists as they can use her for inspirational purposes and let that magic flow. She also represents fertility and regeneration. Ceridwen's magic however, was used to assist others and is said to have been gifted from her magical cauldron, in conjunction with her magical throne. She sat and reigned with sovereignty and genuine love whilst concocting magical potions for those in need, in her cauldron, of which she is the keeper. Ceridwen was referred to as a light witch for this reason, her beautiful benevolent nature, whist this term "white" witch isn't preferred today, it was used to separate white - positivity from dark - negativity. Ceridwen's magic is powerful, and can kill with a single drop post gifting knowing her potions come at a cost, she uses her gift of wisdom to issue her concoctions, as she wishes no harm to anyone. She is very quick to keep any anger that she may feel especially when plans backfire or go awry, in check due to this knowledge. So what potions does Ceridwen offer? Collectively known as Awen, her potions consist of creativity, knowledge, shapeshitfting, the ability to alter the appearance of others, wisdom, art and inspiration. She is a mother, to Criewry a beautiful daughter and a son, Morfran, hideously deformed physically and mentally at birth whom she altered with her potion. She also mothered a third child a bard by the name of Talieson, who bears the gifts of his mum Ceridwen and was a ruler of soughts of Great Britain. These have contributed to Ceridwen being referred to as a crone due to lived experiences.
