i keep rereading solangelo's first interactions theyre just so important to me and i have so many thoughts

its 2 am and im tired so cut me some slack if this makes no sense and i know for a fact theres ppl out there (moots specifically) who have explaibed it better but im referring to how will just immediately treats nico like a Person. he was never scared or uneasy around nico, he never thought of him or treated him as untrustworthy, he never has a line about how he doesnt wanna be alone with nico or a line about wanting to put a bell around his neck because hes creepy and silent or anything; on the contrary, as harsh as he may have been, he doesnt hesitate to tell him that hes wrong* and tell him that people want him at camp and treating him like a person and more than that, a person who needed help and isnt an unstoppable scary deadly force that can intimidate him by pointing out he can summon the dead. nico literally tries the whole "do you not know i can summon skeletons and all that creepy stuff" and will's response is immediately calling out his bullshit, staying firm and trying to get nico the help he clearly needs. and it felt very different to how the others treated him throughout HoO (hazel annabeth reyna not included either, obviously) and honestly even if he was kind of a dick about it i think will told him what he needed to hear, the way he needed to hear it. i just love boo solangelo

* i dont think nico or will were fully right or wrong but they were speaking based on what they saw. will was seemingly surrounded by people who didnt hate nico and wouldnt mind having him around because they literally dont know him (maybe even people who remembered him as the 10 year old obsessed with mythomagic, when the scariest thing about him is how he managed to accidentally slice up his own leg while arguing with chiron); nico has been around the seven who (aside from hazel and annabeth) had been treating him pretty badly or with distrust, the campers' jumpiness, that person who put a dead bird in his bedroll. will spoke with what he saw and nico felt with what he saw; but neither of them knew what the other was on about because they hadnt seen it

adding on, i also make that joke abt the "i just delivered a baby, my hands are still shaking" line being will's super cool apollonian flirting skills but that scene also has what im talking about. will used that as an excuse to touch nico and check on him, and....

will is not scared of him, doesnt flinch, calls out his bullshit and stays firm on his stance and trying to get nico the help he needs. and it clearly keeps catching nico off-guard, but nico also literally wants to be treated like a person and a friend and a loved one

Will Solace, my favorite tortured healthcare worker i project onto.

This is my take on a combat/field medic outfit loosely based on my ambulance uniform except mine has fluorescent orange to keep us from getting run over by cars. I imagined he would want to be a bit more lowkey but still visible enough to other campers hence the stark white on the vest.

I headcanon that when Will uses his powers excessively he gets burns on his hands/arms which is why his arm is bandaged (i have many will/powers/infirmary headcanons i might compile some day)

(No blue eyes because i rebuke the concept of blue eyed people, i gave him a mullet though i hope that makes up for it:)) )
