āYOU ARE BREATHTAKING!ā
Thank you random guy from E3 for saying what we were all thinking
Even better is guy refuses to take it and asks them to donate a go-kart to a childrenās hospital.
(gokarts are those tv/game consoles on stands with wheels in hospitals)
lifehack: when you see a Take One candy bowl in a restaurant, wait until noones looking and shovel candy into your pockets. god may judge you but his sins outnumber your own
āGod may judge you but his sins outnumber your own.ā We really need to start collecting and sourcing these Potent Quotables.
Iāve been doing this for years
Itās all on a google doc of mine (x)
Annnnd our parents and grandparents never taught us basic life skills because the baby boomer generation loved outsourcing easy work, like hemming pants and baking cakes. The generations before us glommed onto the fast, easy fix, and important skills have been lost in the process.
(And of course the generation who raised us loves to act fake shocked like āmy grandkids donāt know how to boil waterā like yeah, Janice, thatās because you took your kids out to eat 6 nights a week and baked Stouffers lasagna one night)
And now we are broke. And canāt afford to pay $60 to have every pair of pants we own hemmed (shoutout to shorties!). We are making yogurt because we canāt afford to pay $2.50 for one yogurt.
Iāve learned to knit to make myself wool hats and scarves. Iāve learned to sew so I can make items that would otherwise cost me 4x the cost to make it. Iāve learned to make yogurt because I would prefer to spend $2 for a gallon of milk and get 24 yogurts out of it rather than just one.
Iāve planted fruit trees in my yard so I can reduce the carbon footprint of the fruit I eat, and because produce is expensive.
I raise egg-laying chickens so I donāt contribute to factory farming.
My husband hunts deer so that we can eat lean, virtually fat free meat, and also not contribute to factory farming. The deer live happy lives and are not allowed to suffer. (Hey PS also, hunting up here plays an important role in ecology, as otherwise the deer population would explode, and deer would starve in the winter. Thanks for coming to my TEDtaā¦)
My generation is going on YouTube to learn to change tires, bake bread and do their taxes because yāall sure as shit didnāt teach us.
THIS
Lets not forget the phasing out of the HomeEc class.Ā Or the Shop Class.
Alleviating oneās ignorance of a subject should NEVER, EVER be looked down on! Learning and growing are never anything to be shamed of, or for!
reblogging for the additions.Ā Ā
really if you take a moment to think about the headline it basically just saysĀ āmillennials are so helpless theyāre taking time to learn how to do things they donāt know how to doā
oh noā¦how awfulā¦
Damn kids and their *spins roulette wheel* commitment to continued education in practical skillsā¦
i havenāt done anything but i sure could use a break
If you donāt believe being asexual has any negative affect on people I was told by a psychiatrist that none of my relationships count because we didnāt have sex, and I canāt say Iām gay since I donāt want to have sex with girls.
and I was taken off my antidepressants because they may be lowering the libido I never had in the first place (plus various other reasons, but still immediately, cold turkey, which should NEVER happen unless theyāre switching you to something else)
But aphobia doesnāt exist and asexuals are privileged, right?
Sorry to add to this but I wanted to say since Iāve had bad experiences with mental health professionals and biphobia, I usually get asked ābut are you sure you are sexually attracted to both sexes, are you sure itās not just an emotional attraction?!ā Like my dude donāt you think I can tell the difference between wanting to date someone and wanting to be friends? Also, due to be gray ace 90% of the time I am not even attracted to anyone but like sure, make me feel guilty that I canāt āproveā my bisexuality.
Sorry too but to add on, being aro isnāt much different. I told my therapist and she was immediately concerned that my meds were repressing āall my emotionsā and wanted to take me off them. My insurance ran out and I went off them bc of no money before that happened. She also suggested dating someone anyway to āfixā the āissueā and expressed concern that my emotions (romantic feelings) werenāt present because āIām suspicious and untrusting of everyone and donāt want to try hard enough.ā
Having your orientation medicalized and invalidated is bad enough, but its fucking dangerous to have your meds taken away because youāre not performing relationships the way some doctor thinks youāre required to.
Aaaand this is why we need the bi/pan/ace/aro alliance.
this is why we need to recognize more queer experiences and identities than gay and lesbian, through increased awareness, information and representation.
My hand slipped⦠ (P.S. Itās transparent!)
Join the alliance!!
If Keanu Reeves woke me up in the middle of a landfill and told me we need to burn the city down I wouldnāt even question him, I would just do it. He knows better than me.

Please reblog if you think that āthey/them/theirsā is a valid set of pronouns.
this post must be reblogged by everyone
Nothing but support for MY nonbinary people who prefer they/them to binary pronouns š
horrible! the new sonic redesign has changed nothing except for adding a visible penis!
I want a home mostly just to welcome people into it. There will be bowls of candy for guests, and the cookie jar is full. Iāll always sayĀ āI was just about to make a coffee/tea/cocoa, would you like one?ā when somebody walks in. Thereās lemonade and iced tea made fresh on hot days. Once it hits That Hour and they start saying they really should be going, Iāll remind them that the futon is always open, and Iām making cinnamon rolls tomorrow. Thereās champagne and sparkling juice hidden on a high shelf just in case somebody announces their engagement or their pregnancy or their new job while theyāre here. There is an extra chair in the living room, at the table, and on the deck, and itās for you. I want to be able to sayĀ āif youāre ever in trouble, come to me.ā
