My name's Melody 🎶. I'm a first year Psych student at Gotham U and part time working at Gotham Library. It's nice ... though I guess I'm still not used to the villains .... uh having these kinds of reasons (or lack of?) for their attacks.

FINALLY made it back to Central. My brother's been stuck in Gotham with me since Thanksgiving and literally. As soon as people were cleared to leave, he booked the first available ticket out of Gotham 🤣🤣.

I was literally on the phone apologising to my boss at Gotham Library while on the train to Metropolis.

Gonna go crash for now. For SOME reason. We decided to turn it into a road trip???

AITA for stalking my now family members AGES ago

this is now apparently a HUGE problem in my household?? and I really don’t see the reason why?

when I (17M) was 9 I was left to my own devices a lot so of course I took up photography, and specifically taking pictures of the cities nightlife

and idk why but one night i saw my neighbors out and about and it caught my interest and I started taking photos of them and just idk following them around?

anyways because a bunch of stuff happened with family and the neighbors ended up taking me in, and it’s been like five years since I’ve stopped and I guess I thought they knew?

like I was literally nine following them how did they NOT see me? thought it was the whole reason they took me in tbh

so when I joked about it, they were like ‘what do you mean’ and i explained it and they were horrified, especially when i brought OUT some photos of them like tripping on curbs and stuff like that

apparently that’s ‘really wrong’ and ‘no sane person would do that’ and one that kept popping up ‘why do you still have these’

ANYWAYS so aita? I’m just really confused rn

To answer some popular questions:

What was the joke? - They were talking about something that happened before i joined the family and i added some info that i guess i shouldnt have known?? they asked about it and i made a joke about "stalking them"

Who allowed me to be out at night? - My parents (now deceased) were out of country for most of the year, and at this point i didnt really need nannies because i was old enough, so ig im the one that allowed this? lol

How did they not see me? - idk honestly, they usually are like, hyper aware of everything and anything idk how they missed me lol i guess i was just sneakier than i thought as a kid

When did they actually meet me/take me in? - we met when i was like 13? and my dad adopted me like... aroudn that time? maybe a year later idk

why do you still have the pictures? - memories, duh. theyre good pics, im not just going to throw them away

so yeah, hope this helps. I'm getting some mixed opinions but ive read all of the replies and my statistics graph shows that people are leaning more towards "nta"

im glad that im decidedly nta, because i was really doubting myself for a sec because wlike. i know its not exactly normal but is it really so far out there? my family is fileld with a bunch or super competent people that are all a little wacky anyways, clearly i would be the same.

also i got a lot of people asking what the pictures were (even thoough i mentioned that in the og post) but to go more in depth: all of the photos are a big mix of (currently) my oldest brother doing a bunch of cool tricks and stuff, i took a lot of care into getting good photos bht theres also a section in my album thats just his epic fails, like tripping over air or walking into glass, my second oldest bro being cool, though he didnt do tricks and stuff, he punched people and was pretty badass ig. he was the most fun to take "epic fails" photos of. and my dad, again being mostly cool shots with different angles and stuff. For him i had to be careful since hes an adult and more trained, but theres this one photo that is actuslly my favorite where hes crouching and the backlights reallt highlight the black suit and its very obvious where he is but in a discreet way, you know?

What in the Gotham?

Heeeyyy soo... the month's almost ending. Which means Thanksgiving (for those celebrating) and just in case I get too busy to post. I wanna make a headstart of the things I'm greatful for:

1. Of course, I wanna say thank you to the Flash, Kid Flash, Impulse, and all speedsters (active and inactive) for keeping Central City, my hometown, safe! ... and for keeping all the buffets in business - except for that scare 2 years ago (y'all know what y'all did 😒😒)

2. I also wanna say thank you to my parents and my brother. He's actually in Gotham rn. Dumbass came to visit me a few days ago and he's still hanging around Gotham.

3. My lovely bf ... aaaahhh . Anyways.

4. I'm thankful, of course, to the friends I've made while living here in Gotham. And are literally the reasons that I've got my grades as they are

5. And lastly. I would like to thank Mr. Freeze for deciding that it's never too early to start a white Christmas and has apparently decided to trap everyone under knee deep snow.

No. Really. Thank you. 😑

No one's been able to get out of the dorm building yet, but I think the guys on the 3rd floor are planning an escape plan 🤣.

One of the perks of living in Gotham is that occasionally you’ll walk past a Wayne having the most batshit insane conversation anybody has ever had.

Walk past Dick Grayson on the street and hear him say into his phone, “I don’t think he’s anti-vax, but Superman is definitely not vaccinated.”

Stand outside of the downtown WE building and see Tim Drake walk out with his tall friend only to pause and say, “Hold on, I just got the mental image of Lex Luthor pregnant. Thanks for that.”

A lucky few who ride the same subway line as the newest Wayne edition, overheard Duke tell Stephanie that living in Wayne Manor is, “Alright, but when I moved in Jason and Damian gave me a knife and said I had to kill Tim. Said it was tradition.”

“It kinda is. Did you do it?”

“No!” Duke says, to the relief of the overhearers. “Get this…he stabbed himself.”

“…yeah, I should’ve guessed that.”

The downside to living in Gotham is literally everything else.

Hey, everyone! So, I’m back with another post after a little break. I know, I know—my online presence is spotty at best (But I'm deffo still alive! The tap water hasn't gotten to me yet 🤣)

Anyway, I’ve been juggling classes and work so it's a little hard to find time to post sometimes.

• I've started seeing Ms. Quinn for our monthly sessions (she's still helping me with my classes - though I had to stay away for 2 months during that time she was back with Joker again. He's soooo bad for her - and NOT in a romance novel kind of bad. As in BAD BAD)

Anyways! Who else was affected by 'turf war' (it's cringe but that's what the Gazette called it) with Penguin and Riddler? Honestly! If they're having some kind of lover's spat keep the rest of us out of it 😮‍💨😢 They had to close the Batburger round the corner from my dorm cos of it!!

It's basically the most frantic game of whack-a-mole/herding cats. All STEM majors have a 100-level required class on why you can't go to Gotham.

Honestly, I think there's something in the water? I've had classmates telling me not to drink the tap water and classmates that say its perfectly safe

I tried it out of curiosity and the truth is, it does taste different (I didn't even realise water could taste ... Not water). I didn't feel anything different though so I've kinda gotten used to drinking the tap whenever I forget to buy the filtered stuff (it's also cheaper for a student to just not buy 😭😭)

obsessed with mass market paperbacks. their pleasing rectangular proportions. how they fit badly in a hoodie pocket so you can drag them around everywhere with you like a temporary little buddy. the way they fit in your hand because they're MADE for human hands and not as bookshelf decoration. the way the pages feel when you riffle them gently with your thumb. How pristine and crisp they look when you get them and how creased and folded they look when you're done, even if you try to be nice to them. how that wear is okay, how that's correct actually, because they're made with the philosophy that books aren't meant to be PRETTY, they're meant to be read. that little ripple new ones get on the left side from where you hold them when you're reading, the way the ripple only goes as far as you've read, because u change stories by reading as they are changing you. how you can find thousands of these creased and folded and loved little dudes in every thrift store and used book shop and neighborhood library and you can instantly see the ones that someone carried around in a backpack for weeks or read to pieces or gave up on halfway through because they wear being read like fresh snow wears footprints. I love these poorly made, subpar little rectangles so much. truly the people's books.

I’m imagining an in universe twitch channel where this dude goes on a walk and in the background you can see Batman fighting someone in the background, and the dude doesn’t really notice it until the chat goes insane like “DUDE RHE BAT IS RUIGHT THERE” and they turn around and say “oh wow, Tuesday already” before carrying on. Then in another stream you can see a gas filling the streets, and he nonchalantly pulls a gas mask out of their bag before stating “some places have pollen season, we have gas season”
