do you have template for character design? can i ask where/how did you learn animation? i was thinking about becoming a self-taught artist, since i don't have money for art school, but i don't quite have an idea where to start. sorry if it's too many questions, i didn't wanted to bug you with a lot of different asks.
for character design, a place to start is learning how to make tunrarounds! theyre essential for character design concepts! i learned the bulk of my animation from art school sdlfhsdf but in terms of books to study from, EVERY ARTIST/ANIMATOR (i feel kshfkdf) studies from (the late) richard williams’ [The Animator’s Survival Kit]. it has a lot of the fundamentals you need for animation. i mention this a lot before in previous asks, but the sakugabooru site has a HUGE archive of animation clips to study from, including both western and japanese anime. in terms of where to start, id say learn the fundamentals ^^!! i know we want to jump right into a specific topic, but i cant stress enough how important it is to learn fundamentals first. for animation, i really recommend studying anatomy and gesture!! a lot of the methods i use i learned from glenn vilppu’s [Vilppu Drawing Manual] (unfortunately its a little pricier compared to the other textbook i mentioned, but very helpful) when i was studying fundamentals in art school
hopefully this helps ^^! AND GOOD LUCK!!!
