On the borders of safety, that's where I find peace.
Where the black sand, meets the raging seas.
I see the forces, for what they truly are.
Yet I'm reminded, of my beating heart.

one thing i wanna say though is data centers being built in rural areas is environmental racism + classism so when i see ppl bitching about locals bitching about data centers im like oh it’s literally because it’s not your backyard being demolished and your air not being polluted and your waterways not being ran dry and your soundscapes not being raised to unhealthy decibels ….

hiiii. uhmn. sooo you left your boyfriend with us and uhhmn. he did go mad lowkey a little bit but he was writing some real fire plays yknow what i'm saying. yeah with puppets and werewolves and shit. but he didnt really wanna do it or anything because he wanted to go outside and scare pedestrians and kill people. so we tied him to a chair and gave him pens so he'd write. uhhh. anyways our oldest friend (iykyk) kept threatening him with violence and that didnt really do much lol sorry. and he kinda kept getting worse and playing upsetting music and stuff so like executive decision we cut his hands off and starved him. yeah for 5 days. we put the hands back on after tho its fine lol. anyways yeah he burned himself alive. party was kinda a hoot lowkey tho we were ALL serving cunt at it. sorry
Controversial opinion but I never found the incestuous elements to be the most important part of Lestat and Gabrielle's relationship in the book. And because of this, I'm really struggling to understand the reasoning that the showrunners would (potentially) remove the focus on Gabrielle's gender identity due to the current political climate, however well intended.
Like obviously this is Gothic horror, and the show shouldn't shy away from the dark and problematic elements of the story. But in a time where the trans community is facing such ostracization and literal violence, I would rather give a character like Gabrielle the care and focus she deserves, even if that comes at the sacrifice of the incest plot. Where her transformation into a vampire quite literally allows her to become the person she desires to be, and to discard the role of mother she never asked for. Lestat and Gabrielle's relationship is so complex and compelling, there is plenty of space to still explore the ways she failed him and how it connects to the other abuses in his life. She didn't need to become a completely different character for that to happen. And the writers of this show are too smart to make the decisions they did without a reason, I'm just struggling to understand what that reason is and if it was worth it.

You say you fight for the sake of Nassau, for the sake of your men, for the sake of Thomas and his memory. But the truth of the matter is, it isn’t for any of those things. What the fuck do you think I am fighting for? I think you are fighting for the sake of fighting. Because it’s the only state in which you can function. The only way to keep that voice in your head from driving you mad. What are you talking about? What voice? The one telling you to be ashamed of yourself… for having loved him. BONUS:
