I wish there were studies on the actual damage men's torment does. The constant hyperawareness to prevent assault and the background noise of low-level stress from men "just teasing" or "just messing with" us cannot be healthy for our hearts. It hurts so much that they just LIKE to see us stressed and upset.

The other day I had a man openly admit to me that when I said I would not like a dick pic, it made him want to do it more. When I asked why, he responded "idk, just made me want to pick on you".

I don't care if it's nature or nurture anymore. I want to focus on the damage this constant awareness of danger does to women. I want to focus on how their constant need to fuck with us even in basic conversation leads to long term stress and damages women's confidence.

To add to this: while men and women have similar or comparable rates of PTSD/CPTSD, the way that it is “developed” vary wildly.

Research has shown that men are far more likely to develop PTSD due to a standalone traumatic event compared to women who — as stated — are more likely to develop CPTSD due to prolonged traumatic events.

While different studies or papers will report slightly different numbers, all agree that women are more “tormented” by daily life than men and thus develop worse mental illness due to it. This study in particular even states that “cisgender women are 2 to 3 times more likely to develop PTSD and CPTSD than men, even when exposed to similar trauma types.”

TLDR; being a cis woman in the world is so traumatic we are 2 to 3 times more likely to develop PTSD than a man by simply living in the world with them.

Also why is there not more research done on male cruelty? Why do they do this shit? Why do groups of boys form together to do horrible things to women? Californians have the chance to end child marriage in the state all thanks to Kate Yang's endless activism to end child marriage in all fifty states. They will be deliberating about this in the next week or so, so any letters of support they receive in the next 48hrs or so will be very important.

Californian residents please share your support for the amendment proposed for AB 1267 and send in a letter of support to your legislators to make the minimum marriage age 18 with no exceptions. I also believe non-residents are allowed to submit support letters, but they have told Kate before that there isn't a lot of public concern about this matter and they would need to see more Californians support ending child marriage than previously.

This whole debate regarding the woman who got an abortion after learning the baby would have Down Syndrome is ignoring one crucial element: the woman. I’m seeing so much commentary on people with Down Syndrome, how they’re happy and have wonderful fulfilling lives. And that’s great! But a woman should not be forced to carry a pregnancy and give birth if she doesn’t want to. I don’t care how morally concerning her reasons are. Educating on disabilities to ensure that women are fully informed before making a decision on whether to continue a pregnancy is amazing…but it needs to be done without shaming her for choosing to abort.

half of the people arguing against the uk online safety act haven’t been in a Highschool in years. Sure, you’re 40 and watch porn and don’t want to give your id up, fine whatever. But teenage boys with porn addictions is a genuine issue.

I’m going to be a junior in high school this year, I still have two years left, and by this point I’ve already seen three different boys jerking off in the back of classrooms. Earlier during my sophomore year, around march or April, a guy got caught ai generating videos of his female classmates and jerking off to them in class.

If this isn’t porn addiction, I’m not sure what else to call it. Teenage boys have literally nothing on their minds besides porn by this point. Even the way I see them talking to my female classmates is weird and shows signs of degeneracy. And it’s every single one of them.

Teenage boys with access to porn always end up with terrible porn addictions that they make everyone else’s problem. Just because you want to watch porn without identification shouldn’t mean that I have to go to school with people that jerk off while staring at my friends, their phones open to hentai.

I know there are issues with the ban, and things like Wikipedia are also being censored, which I don’t think is a great thing, but as long as porn is being taken away from teenage boys I’m grateful.
