Klaine Advent/ Gleecember 2025: Save the Last Dance (2/?)
Summary: Kurt knows he won’t see him again. After a one night hook-up with NYADA graduate Blaine Anderson, Vogue intern Kurt is ready to tackle the social world, and whatever boys, his first semester at NYADA will bring. He may not have been experienced, but he was ready, and being with Blaine made him feel confident in his skin in a way he definitely did not in Lima, Ohio.
Only he does see him again. On his first day of school. In Ms July’s dance class. Yes Blaine’s a graduate. He is also the new dance TA.

Part 2: Save the Last Dance (pocket/tied) (Blaine POV)
Rachel had been incredible at the winter showcase. Especially as a first year. But Blaine was unlikely to have noticed her in the heart of his favourite gay bar had it not been for her sharp tongued, high fashion friend's scathing rejection of the gym guy.
Blaine isn't a major club kid. Or club young adult as the case may be. He is a serious theatre student and generally prefers sing-a-longs at the local piano bar, Callbacks, to the dark haze of a gay club. But he just graduated, he's single, and his roommate, Sam, was home in Ohio for the holidays. And he loves to dance. So it seemed like the perfect night to put on his tight red jeans, his patent leather shoes, and have a few drinks. And if someone at the bar happens to notice, all the better.
Although now it seems that he is the one doing the noticing. And he has an in as long as he doesn't get tongue tied.
"Hey, Rachel?"
"Oh hey, Blaine, right?" Rachel seems to recognize him. "You go to NYADA?"
"Just graduated actually. I saw you perform at the Winter Showcase. You were incredible." Rachel preens at the compliment.
"Why thank you," She turns to him. "This is my roommate, Kurt. Kurt, this is Blaine, from NYADA."
"Kurt," He repeats and extends his hand. "Nice to meet you." He pauses for a minute in the eye contact wanting to make sure that Kurt's ice blue eyes were not shooting daggers at him too. They aren't. "I work out too," Blaine says deliberately. "But probably not enough."
Kurt's eyes sparkle, amused. "Ha. You heard that."
"I did."
"Lucky for you," Kurt continues, "I'm not usually that harsh."
"It was witty," Blaine shrugs.
"Definitely mean," Rachel is still shaking her head. "Kurt can be judgy."
"Even when someone is trying to pick you up," Blaine notes to himself.
"Especially when someone is trying to pick me up," Kurt looks directly at Blaine. Is that a dare? He hopes so.
"Can I get you three something here?" The bartender's irritated voice breaks the staring contest. They are standing in a premium location along the bar and no one has a drink in their hand. "If not, dance floor is over there," the bartender gestures. He wants his tips. Fair.
"What do you two normally get?" Blaine reaches into his pocket and pulls out a bank card. "This round is on me. I'll have a gin and tonic," Blaine says to the bartender, "And-" He looks at Kurt and Rachel.
"Cranberry and vodka for me and Kurt," Rachel says.
"Thanks," Kurt says as they take their drinks and head over to the dance floor. "Much better from a friend of Rachel's than the muscle man with an innocence kink."
"Ew," Blaine shakes his head.
"Totally not my type."
"Big muscles, works out A LOT?" Blaine emphasizes.
"Working out is good," Kurt looks down and Blaine thinks he sees him bite his lip before looking up. "But I think I prefer not quite enough." Blaine's eyebrows rise. "Gotta have other interests," Kurt explains quickly.

Save the Last Dance (surprise/dare)
"Can I buy you a drink?" The muscled blond guy leaning on the bar in a tight white t-shirt was still speaking to him.
Kurt knew this would be a bad idea.
After weeks of rejecting her, Kurt had finally let Rachel convince him that he did want a night of dancing at New York's most happening gay club. Fine, she dared him. And his competitive spirit had somehow landed him at this unfortunate moment.
Rachel had encouraged him to come to New York despite his initial NYADA rejection, had moved out of the dorms to share a Brooklyn loft with him, and had supported him in becoming Vogue's most talented intern. But those successes were apparently not enough. Now she was dedicated to spicing up his non-existent social life with a focus on rejecting limits set by growing up gay in Lima, Ohio. And that included dressing up in his tightest blue and red patterned jeans, matching blue button down short sleeved shirt with his signature ascot, and letting loose with the help of a fake id and a little rum and coke. Emphasis on the little because he was definitely not drunk enough to be hit on by the gym bunny in front of him.
The problem wasn't how he looked. Blondie had soft hair, pretty blue eyes, and a six pack Kurt could see plainly under his deliberately tight white shirt. He could feel his body stir at the idea of less clothes and more hands, touching him skillfully. He wonders if he would be ticklish. If the guy is ticklish. And he has his own secret Richard Simmons workouts and free weights under his bed too. He can compete. But all of that, as usual, is in his head, because gym bunny had already revealed his true self. Fatal error.
"Hey. Haven't seen you here before. Welcome."
Kurt had turned around to make sure the guy was talking to him. There was no one other than Rachel whose eyes bugged out in far too enthusiastic excitement. "Who me?" Kurt reluctantly answered. "You caught me. First time."
"First time?" Blondie pauses. "Lucky I consider that a positive." Ew. Not what he meant. Kurt rolled his eyes and he was pretty sure that even Rachel was equally unimpressed. Thank goodness.
"And you spend all your time here?" Kurt tried for disdain but thinks he was giving off more baby penguin vibes.
"Not all my time," Gym guy chuckled and squeezed his own arm. "I also work out. A lot." He puffed out his chest and Kurt laughed out loud. Was this guy for real? "Can I buy you a drink?" Apparently.
Kurt bites his lower lip and pauses. He's an aspiring actor and he wants to make sure his line is delivered perfectly. Clearly. No baby penguin. "Unlucky for you, I consider that a negative."
"Oh my god, Kurt!" Rachel grabs his arm as they quickly turn around to face away from rejected gym guy.
"I'm not desperate, Rachel."
"He was hot."
"He was dumb."
"Just because he goes to the gym-"
"A lot," Kurt adds.
"A lot," Rachel repeats.
"Hey, Rachel?" A voice thankfully interrupts Rachel's attempts at redeeming gym guy. A face that very fortunately has very pretty almost green-brown eyes attached. And he's very well dressed in tight red (yes, red) jeans and a black polo. And a matching bowtie. Surprise.
"Oh hey, Blaine, right? You go to NYADA?"

It's this time of the year again. On November 9th, 2010 Darren's first Glee episode aired. I don't think Darren will make a post, but here are the pics he posted 2020.

If I had a nickel for every time an insubordinate hotshot pilot got stranded on a strange planet while her crew and commanders are forced to reckon with how much they love and care about her even after having recently aired grievances and experienced interpersonal conflicts and chastised her for breaching protocol but also realize how they can’t bear to lose her so they extend every resource to find her only to put their original extremely important mission on hold until one voice of reason tells them to let go and abandon defeat only for said hotshot pilot to escape with unlikely help from a member of the show’s very terrifying main antagonists , I would have 2 nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.
The other night husband and I were watching a documentary about the yeti where they were doing DNA analysis of samples of supposed yeti fur, and every one of them came back as bears.
Anyway, the next night we watched a thing about some pig man who is supposed to live in Vermont. People said it had claws and a pig nose but walked upright like a man. Now, I happen to know that sideshows used to shave bears and present them as pig men. So every piece of evidence they gave of this monster sounds to me like a bear with mange.
So now the running joke in our house is that everything is bears. Aliens? Bears. Loch Ness monster? Bear. Every cryptozoological mystery is just a very crafty bear.
Bears. They’re everywhere. Be wary. Anyone or anything could be a bear.
As the OP of this post, I’m going to threaten that if this gets to one million notes by the 10 year anniversary on 1 June 2026, one year from today, I will get a lower back tattoo of the loch ness bear monster.

Thank you to everyone who commented in their tags or messaged me. Indeed, today is “Martin and Bosco Day”. I originally whimsically blazed this photo on 13 July 2022. I never expected Martin and Bosco to travel so far and make so many new friends. The experience has been such a gift for me.
This probably sounds strange but I'm super happy for fandom tonight.
So many of us were first introduced to Darren via Glee. We then scoured the internet for more details on "Kurt's love interest," and discovered Starkid, Harry Potter Musical, Little White Lie, etc.
We downloaded the "Human" EP.
We've been in it to win with Darren for a long time. We went to the Listen Up! Tour, bought tickets to How to Succeed and Hedwig and travelled to NYC for Elsie Fest.
We bought the "Homework" EP and "Masquerade."
We watched "The Assassination of Gianni Versace" and "Royalties," and all the cameos and pop up appearances in between. We cheered for the Emmys and downloaded, "A Very Darren Crissmas."
I love that four different people on my feed scheduled this joyous person to reblog by 8am on June 1. I look forward to seeing this a dozen more times today.
