Wait are iPhone bros coping because Apple has to be more universal? Lol.
Boo hoo i'll be able to add more physical storage to my phone and be able to change out batteries if they degrade as well as all these other optional features I won't have to touch
Continuing in the trend of political cartoons depicting milquetoast moderate positions seem so much cooler and more badass than they are
I love how they add totally absurd things no one is asking for to make the idea look crazy. And still, I must emphasize, failing to make this look like a bad idea.
"Is this what you want? Is this ugly stupid bullcrap what you want??" the biggest loudest idiot in the room asks, holding up a picture of the hottest looking shit I've ever seen
Only a hundred years ago the world still believed it important to design ordinary things with elegance.

I remember thinking about this a long time ago when I had my first apartment. It was a converted Victorian house that was now divided into four apartments. The front was ornate like you'd expect but what really stood out is the basement and back stairs where only the servants would go still had carvings and styled glass. The people that had the house would have rarely seen and appreciated it and the extra work for it would mean extra money. But it was there anyway. Comparing that to the mall where I was working where, once you stepped out of the public areas, there wasn't a drop ceiling to conceal the cable runs and half of the drywall didn't even have mud covering the screws.
We've lost something since that time and we're worse off for it.
I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue
everything about this is gold. Er, platinum.
One of my favourite bits of media history trivia is that back in the Elizabethan period, people used to publish unauthorised copies of plays by sending someone who was good with shorthand to discretely write down all of the play's dialogue while they watched it, then reconstructing the play by combining those notes with audience interviews to recover the stage directions; in some cases, these unauthorised copies are the only record of a given play that survives to the present day. It's one of my favourites for two reasons:
It demonstrates that piracy has always lay at the heart of media preservation; and
Imagine being the 1603 equivalent of the guy with the cell phone camera in the movie theatre, furtively scribbling down notes in a little book and hoping Shakespeare himself doesn't catch you.

Gotta love steampunk
Item: majestic-ass biscuit, although I dunno how majestic it’s gonna be for $4.99
So idk if anyone has seen those viral videos of that kids interviewing his high school classmates asking them to read a simple passage and explain what certain words in said passages mean, but he’s currently being threatened by his school with expulsion, not being allowed to attend prom, and not being allowed to walk at graduation. Anything to not address the real and serious issue of a lack of literacy in your institution, and everything possible to punish those who point it out.
That's the first bike I can recall with the throttle on the left. And why does a hovercycle have a clutch?
trying to create an ebay account to sell smthn and tell me why I can't use my REAL LEGAL LAST NAME because it includes "dick" which ebay considers offensive
BUT THEN IN THEIR MISREPRESENTATION POLICY THEY SAY YOU CAN'T COLLECT MONEY TO A BANK ACCOUNT THAT'S NOT IN YOUR BUSINESS OR LEGAL NAME. BUT MY LEGAL NAME INCLUDES DICK, WHICH YOU CONSIDER OFFENSIVE.
the sanitization of the internet is so fucking stupid we live in the stupidest time
If I had a nickel for every popular animated series which debuted in 1985–1986, abandons the then-standard episodic format in favour of an ongoing serialised story arc, has a title beginning with "(The) Adventures of", takes place in a superficially medieval fantasy setting which is gradually revealed to be the post-apocalyptic remnant of a high-tech precursor civilisation, ends on an unresolved cliffhanger involving a journey over the sea, and features a protagonist or protagonist group who are the last known descendants of that precursor civilisation and also for some reason talking bears, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
