I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream
Oh, this definitely belongs on Tumblr.
From the Nib, by Mattie Lubchansky
it would be so awesome
it would be so cool
So this seems dumbâŠand it isâŠbut itâs dumb with a purpose. I can almost guarantee you the exact line of reasoning that gets NASA engineers to 100.
Ok, first of all assume the worst and assume she needs the max amount of tampons possible for all days. Now lets count it up.
7 days? Better be safe and make it 10.
3 tampons a day at worst? Better be safe and make it 5.
So that gives us 50 tampons. Ok. Double it.
And thatâs how you get 100.
Itâs ridiculous, but NASA has a culture of âoverengineer absolutely everything to do with human safety, and then design around itâ which is actually pretty cool.
Listen, I know this gets made fun of so much, but like I am a woman who has periods and I have absolutely no idea how many tampons a woman requires in a week. I use primarily pads. But these men, at the least, ASKED her instead of making unfounded assumptions.
Also have you ever packed for a long trip and thought âIâm only going for seven days but I need to pack 15 pairs of underwearâŠ.just in caseâ. Imagine that but youâre going to SPACE
Personal art. Happy trans day of visibility! To all kinds of trans people, especially the misunderstood, the ones who even the other queer people point fingers at. Ones who's labels may sound confusing. Ones who get rejected from all directions. I see you. Please never stop being complex.

btw this is laerte. She is 73 now! Making art and being happy! It's never too late to transition

Remember when joining fandom as a younger person meant lurking for a bit and figuring out the vibe and etiquette instead of coming in on day one and calling people weirdos for liking weirdo shit in the weirdo factory.
I was thinking of a pride art challenge people could do with their OCs, because I thought it'd be cute! A queer/trans artist with their creations.
but then I realised that same challenge would be infinitely more funny with folks who have atypical or horror OCs
Clark Kent gaslighting Lois Lane into believing heâs not Superman.
my fav pokemon fact is that 25% of marill are canonically trans masc
the gender ratio for azurill is 75% female whilst for marill itâs only 50%.
also look how much happier he is post transition! go on king <3
happy pride month to transgender marill pokemon <3
see every time i see this status i get angry because iâve played through literally every scenario in rct1 and there is no place where this is a thing. there is never more than one park per map. and in rct2 you canât make that happen i the scenario editor either. it is not remotely within the gameâs functionality to simulate two discrete parks and these games were coded in assembly for christ sake so itâs not like someone modded it in by adding the line âint const TOTAL_NUM_POSSIBLE_PARKS = 2;â. there is no conceivable way this post is anything close to true and even though i know how writing all this out reflects upon me as a person and even though i know exactly how meaningless and trifling of a takedown attempt this is on some random facebook screencap with hundreds of thousands of notes im going to post it anyway because iâm too petty to have any say in the matter
My favorite episodes of Steven universe are about fusion. Weather itâs their origins or the adventures as a fusion. A lot of people will look at Steven universe and automatically assume that itâs an analogy for sex, not to be a prude but I hate that angle.
Sex and fusion are VERY different. This difference isnât directly brought up in the show but is sort of mentioned in the rose and Greg episodes. âWe need to talkâ Greg learns about fusion and tryâs to fuse with rose but canât. Rose has probably tried to fuse with other humans in the past, we can also assume sheâs had sex with humans in the past too, sheâs been around them for I would assume 6,000 years (in the answer garnet says her and Ruby first fused 5,000 and some change years ago) if anything rose has done it all but is finding that special connection with Greg.
Both fusion and sex take alot of trust in another person, your allowing someone access to the most vulnerable parts of your body and mind. In sex Ofcourse itâs allowing another person to see the most embarrassing parts of yourself, but fusion, you have access to each others memories, personal thoughts, for us people with intrusive thoughts, fusing with another person would allow them to hear the horrible things that your brain plagues you with. ïżŒ
Garnet said it best, she is a conversation, she is a visual manifestation of Ruby and Sapphires love for each other and their identity together. They arenât making everything about each other, they are each other. I think when they get married is something that signify that they have changed each other so drastically from their original form, they canât bear to separate.
Stevonie is a case of a boy and a girl fusing together, but nothing about their fusion is sexual, even when Stevonie starts growing facial hair in jungle moon, itâs not sexual. Yes Stevonie in that point in time goes through both sides of human puberty. If I had to go through both points of human puberty with my partner as one body I think that i would be eternally tied to them. I want to note that yes, Steven is most definitely romantically attracted to Connie, seeing themselves as the book characters at the end of season 1, but he fuses with Connie because both of them have a platonic bond with each other. They donât even declare themselves a couple until (correct me if Iâm wrong) season four or 5, literal years of them being best friends together. So their case is evidence that fusion isnât and has never been strictly sex.
Fusion can also be A way for gems to up their power level together, it is accepted on home world that gems of the same kind can use together only because the cast system divides these gems into all thinking assumedly the same way, thatâs why Ruby is different and often was outcast in her own ruby groups. Garnet exists because Ruby thinks differently from other rubys strengthening sapphireâs future vision by allowing it to see multiple options all at once. Other examples of gems fusing to have advantages for doing certain tasks would be Malachite, Alexandrite, opal, sardonyx, Sugite, ect. Theyâre not having sex, they are completing a task or goal.
I wanna mention peridot here too, paradox cannot fuse with other gems because she is still strictly classes with her thinking of other gems and herself. She can communicate, but she cannot cohabitate with other gems. My favorite Steven Universe fan animation is the one where lapis lazuli and paridot fuse by using sex because compared to fusion, sex is so much less intimate but it give peridot an idea of what to do because theirs no wrong way to have CONSENSUAL sex. Rose and Greg canât fuse for similar reasons as to para cannot inherently fuse, Greg and Rose are each otherâs windows to both the human and the alien world, something neither of them have full knowledge of, but you donât need to know someoneâs childhood someoneâs race, or background to engage in sex unless it pertains to sex. Sex still has a lot of rules aside from consent, I donât consider consent to be the end all be all for that sort of situation, itâs more of the door to the act than the act itself. Safe words, saying no to certain positions, and talking about SA and STI history are part of the rules of sex, if any of those rules are broken itâs not sex, itâs assault.ïżŒïżŒ
Assult happens with fusion too, Malachite being the main example of a toxic relationship and taking advantage of someone for a goal, but âCry for helpâ and the episodes that follow can be seen as fusion assault too. The threat of homeworld coming back to earth after centuries of peace, reminds pearl of the previous cast system she was a part of. Fusion is an escape from that anxiety so she tricks garnet whoâs having that same anxiety into fusing with her to take down the transmission tower over and over again. This is a breach of trust for not just ruby and Sapphire, but the whole crystal gem team. It drags in amethysts similar anxietyâs , which pearl uses as a way to brush her off as an excuse to use sardonyx instead of sugalite. Pearl taking advantage of garnet was wrong, and hurt not just her feelings but also her trust, and the next couple of episodes signifyâs that garnet doesnât have to forgive her for her actions much like with sexual assult. Pearl is her oldest friend and watched her get created, and I think garnet forgives her because pearl doesnât understand the extent to how important fusions are to gems like her.
To end my mini essay, fusion in Steven universe is similar but incredibly different from sex, but you can still make parallels to the act. Just because you can make parallels to the act doesnât mean that fusion and sex are the same thing.ïżŒ
