Eddie lets out a huff and marches towards the bathroom. The door doesn’t lock, so he doesn’t hesitate to whip it open, only to find Buck stepping into the shower. He pulls back the curtain.
“Jesus Christ Eddie!”
Eddie pinches the offending shirt in two fingers and holds it in Buck’s face.
“That’s my shirt,” Buck says.
“You threw it in my face.”
“I threw it at the hamper,” Buck corrects, and Eddie wants to strangle him.
“It hit me in the face! Your gross sweaty shirt hit me in the face.”
“Well I’m sorry, Eddie, I didn’t mean for my disgustingness to get all over you. Can you get out now?”
Eddie leaves the bathroom and closes the door, but not before he hears Buck muttering under his breath.
Eddie has had enough of this damn heat.

Everyone is hot and bothered and increasingly frustrated 🥵
The 118 are putting in extra hours for the number of wildfires that keep popping up 🚒
People get cranky and tense and the tension builds as the heat does too 🤬💢
Then the lightning and thunder starts to crack and a torrential storm breaks the heat ⛈️
And a buddie kiss breaks the tension 👨🏼❤️💋👨🏽
(and then one of them runs away and angst ensues for another few episodes as they work through it)

feeling unreasonably amused and fond about the idea of bb shane figuring out that timeout=having to go sit somewhere quiet and not have anyone talk to him
and thus putting HIMSELF in timeout especially at family events with a frequency that has other family members pulling yuna and david aside to be like, "he really didn't do anything wrong, he doesn't need to be in timeout. it's okay." and them having to figure out a way to explain that yeah, they know. this wasn't their call. he is free to leave whenever he wants. he's literally not in trouble for anything. he went up to yuna, said "mommy, i need a timeout" and then walked himself off to go sit in the guest room looking SO pleased at this loophole out of having to talk to people when he's tired of it.

“Then what is it?” Chris cries. The tears break free and roll down his cheeks. “You were mine first!”
Buck’s face morphs through a multitude of expressions in a split second, before he’s throwing his arms around Chris and half-pulling him off the couch into an embrace. “I am yours, Chris. Yours and your dad’s. Always.”
“But you love Theo more than me!” Chris cries. “Why do you love him more than me?”
If Eddie’s heart is breaking, he can’t imagine how Buck’s feels, but if the wounded noise that comes from his throat is any indication, Chris has just shattered it into a million pieces.
OR:
As Theo settles with his aunt and starts to grieve his parents, Buck struggles with the idea that Theo is too much like him to be easy to love while Eddie and Chris grapple with the fear of losing Buck to a ‘real’ family. Together, they are forced to confront what they’ve always been to each other, even if it was never said aloud.

buck texting eddie all the pictures he snapped from their road trip. and it’s landscapes and selfies and candids and a whole mix of things. and they scroll thru them and relive memories and laugh and bucks like ok lemme see some of yours eddie i saw u with your phone! :) and Eddie’s like oh um… no. it’s ok. .. And he suddenly seems shy and sheepish , he rubs his hand on the back of his neck and bucks teasing like eddie it’s okay if they’re not as good as mine 😉 i know they’re good! And eddie rolls his eyes but he still seems hesitant and he kinda makes a halfhearted effort to “find” the album and he’s like lemme see if i even took any umm… and Buck rolls his eyes and grabs Eddie’s phone is like eddie it’s fine lemme see and Eddie’s like wait! And Buck opens the album and starts scrolling and……. it’s just. buck. Buck smiling down at his phone, buck laughing at something eddie just said, sunlight hitting bucks face as he looks over the menu at the diner……and Eddie’s face turns BRIGHT red and he doesn’t say anything and Buck reaches the end (there were about 12 total. One of them was when buck fell asleep in the car when they had stopped at the rest stop. and Buck had yawned and said do u want me to drive? and eddie laughs and is like no bud that’s ok..and bucks sleepy little nod as he’s already laying his head in his hand and leaning against the window and he’s like let me know im totally 🥱 totally willing to drive 😴 and eddie is standing there with the driver door open and he just smiles and shakes his head but before he hopped in behind the wheel he snapped a pic…he had planned to tease Buck about it later, how fast he had fallen asleep but he never got around to it) and Buck looks up at him… and eddie doesn’t know what to say… what does he say? i needed to remind myself u were real? I needed proof that you were here and alive and with me? I snapped pics so that when i felt that dread and panic rise up I could look at you asleep in the car, bruised but breathing and. It brought me peace? Eddie doesn’t know if he can say any of that right now…

just thinking about the scene where buck approaches eddie while eddie is in the middle of a task at work. first, like others have mentioned, it's obvious how often this must happen - buck joining eddie to gab about everything and nothing. but what really strikes me is, sure, eddie wasn't looking at buck through the majority of that conversation, but that doesn't mean he wasn't totally engaged. he was entertaining what he thought was buck's random and lighthearted bid for connection. he was chuckling and offering his opinions. most notably, he wasn't even slightly annoyed that his task was being interrupted! he wasn't like 'not now, i'm busy' because he likes when buck talks to him! it's sorta bird theory proved for them, you know?
