The ppl saying pap smears "are just mild discomfort" have never gotten a pap smear as virgin, as a lesbian who has never been penentrated, as a woman with vaginismus, as a woman with pelvic floor dysfunction, as a woman with complex sexual trauma or sexual vaginal injury or injury from childbirth. We're trying to tell you huge groups of women are excluded/ not considered by the typical pap smear technique and its a real and significant barrier to health care access.
Despite these situations and conditions being very common, for some reason a lot health care providers that offer routine pap smears are totally inconpetent and unprepared to handle these conditions/situations. And many act like you have 3 heads or youre just being difficult when you bring it up and try to get your needs met.
So a lot of women with specific needs have to shop around and spend significant time and money just try to get their needs met by a competent health care provider.
This should not be the case and its just another huge barrier to getting, what should be, routine care.
So people are not being babies, they're describing an unaddressed barrier to care.
Yes women need to advocate for themselves, speak up, be persistent, shop around, shell out extra cash- but all these things are just more barriers and no matter what you do- some women are gonna get left behind if something isn't done to revolutionize standard pap smears.
i know I've been saying this for months, but soon it's gonna start clicking for y'all that the end goal of cuts to American social safety nets (medicare, medicaid, SNAP, EBT, WIC, etc) is to force women into total economic reliance on men, especially poor women. Sure, the wealthy want poor men to be wage-slaves pretty badly, too, but the real goal is a total dismantling of women's liberation
Already women are being forced out of the workforce in droves. Can you see it now?
They cut the rope, now they're pushing us off the cliff.

at this point it is a KNOWN fact that proper sex education prevents teen pregnancy. Teen pregnancy is at an all-time low in the US, and yet, Republicans want to go back to abstinence-only education... wonder why...
This on top of measures to surveil, criminalize, and punish abortion, make it harder for women to vote, especially married women, AND make it harder to divorce. Do you see where they're headed with this?
Redditors when you say you hope the person who molested you as a child dies
"bad crimes I don't like" = sex related crimes. Crimes that don't see much improvement with therapy/rehabilitation anyways.
They see too much of themselves in the rapists and child molesters
Rebecca Myers has dedicated her life to trying to change the most brutal of Britainâs serial rapists and abusers. When people hear that, the
Supporting evidence based policy means updating your opinions and stances as new evidence is collected. In this case the evidence is damning. Rehabilitive justice is not safe to apply to sexual predators.
If bitch isnât a misogynistic slur because âanyone can be called oneâ then explain the âno bitchesâ meme where the word is quite literally used as a replacement for women.
"Bitches" and "women" are used interchangeably in so many contexts. It's everywhere in top 40 songs. It's wild to claim that it's not a gendered word at all, esp when the literal meaning is "female dog". Like if u don't care about using slurs, then just admit that. But don't try to pretend like it's not one. The fact that it's widespread and normalized doesn't make it not a slur, it just shows how deep sexism is still ingrained in our culture.
I would also like to add that "anyone can be called one" isn't really true either, because calling a man a bitch is different from calling a woman a bitch. When a woman is called that, it's because she was mean, voicing her opinion or saying no. When a man is called that, it means he is weak (men call each other a little bitch to mean coward) and they're comparing him to what they think a woman is, aka weak. It always mean woman, they just don't wanna admit it.
i was going to write a serious post about lesbophobia, entitlement and sexual coercion in the tq+ community but this is more succinct
Analog horror series about your friend getting a boyfriend
Even in left wing circles itâs literally like pulling teeth trying to get people to take misogyny seriously as a real problem that is killing women and ruining their lives everywhere all the time and not like a haha silly 1950s problem we just make jokes about now
There are so many people that look at me like I spat on their mother's grave when I say that the domestic violence epidemic, sex trafficking, child marriage, and femicide are the issues modern feminism is combating. There's this insidious mentality that feminism won once women were able to enter the workforce and whenever someone who believes that is confronted with sex based violence they react poorly.

My lived experience is that I am a woman because I was born female, and it has affected the way people have treated me from the moment I was born. The lived experience of 3.5 billion women is that they are women because they were born female. To try and demand that we deny this reality, our own lived reality, because it doesnât validate the feelings of a small handful of males who have decided (in the absence of any evidence) that the way they feel must be the way women feel, and therefore they are women, and therefore âwomanâ is a feeling independent of the body? To demand that 3.5 billion women pretend their bodies have nothing to do with their experience of womanhood because it doesnât include this tiny minority? Thatâs gotta be Peak Mansplaining. They are literally mansplaining womanhood to women, projecting their own beliefs about womanhood (warped by their own perceptions and experiences as the oppressor class) onto themselves and onto every woman on earth. How has anyone, especially any woman, been convinced to go along with this?Â
ugly males wearing lipstick and a wig claim to be women and get on here to say women arenât oppressed based on their sex like why some yall let them get away with the audacity because of so called âallyshipâ itâs beyond me
It's not a question of whether men and women are different but why those differences, real or perceived, always seem to be handled in a way that favors men. Take for instance the idea that men can't control themselves when women dress or act a certain way, usually the proposed solution is to regulate women's behavior and women's clothing choices. Or the notion of men being "bad" at childcare or housework. The solution is to have women do it for free. It's not treated as a failure on men's part, it's just beneath them! That's what wives and moms and sisters are for! Keep in mind these stereotypes aren't true, they're just instructive as to how we react when men are believed to have some kind of shortcoming. You don't often see people questioning whether a guy should be holding political office if he loses all sense at the sight of a woman in a bikini and he can't or won't figure out how to work a dishwasher. Meanwhile, women's perceived shortcomings are hammered endlessly as justification for excluding and subjugating us. Women's under-representation "real" jobs like welding, plumbing, etc. (I suspect these would cease to be considered "real" work if mostly women did them), women's relative performance in tasks requiring physical strength, these are all purportedly evidence that women just aren't as good as men, that patriarchy is justified and necessary. Ok rant done.
"enby icon" "transmasc icon" y'all genuinely can't comprehend a woman exercising her freedom, courage and leadership skills without some batshit conspiracies that she was secretly a man on a spiritual level
she got burned at the stake for wearing men's clothes, she was a teenage warrior protecting her country with whole patriarchal systems against her, show some fucking respect
Joan of Arc (1412 - 1432)
you can't girlboss your way out of the humiliation of performing femininity. miniskirts are supposed to humble you by having you stay alert to them riding up and exposing you. high heels are supposed to humble you by having you move carefully, wary of twisting an ankle (or stumbling and exposing yourself). make-up is supposed to humble you by having you control your feeding and resting habits, lest you smudge it. there's sexualization imbedded in them. they are SUPPOSED to embarrass you, because the ultimate titillation is the assertion of control over you. you can't desex them.
The tide is turning đ€
and theyâre usually not that brilliant and careful either. 99ïŒ of the time the police are just incompetent! Ted Bundy literally jumped out a window and escaped police custody because they werenât watching him
A victim literally escaped Jeffrey Dahmerâs apartment naked with a hole drilled in his head and unable to speak but police let Dahmer take him back to his apartment like everything was ok!
And I guess he doesnât count as a serial killer but Eric Harris had already been making threats and harrassing students to an extreme degree before Columbine- police literally had a search warrant but they just never acted on it. If they had, they would have found the guns and pipe bombs and the shooting could have been easily prevented. They even tried to cover this up afterwards.
Serial killers and mass murders are usually not that smart, police have just historically refused to do their actual jobs.
always remember that the âgenius serial killerâ narrative is a blatant cover for the fact that the police will always look the other way when it comes to white cis men exhibiting blatantly violent and hateful behavior
Important to remember that people like Jeffrey dahmer targeted minorities because cops did not care about violence against them. Itâs not just cops being incompetent, itâs the systematic violence, racism, classism, transphobia, and homophobia in the police system
How come trans folks get a shout out but not women?
Sexism would cover both.
But trans activists prefer to muddy the waters and deny sex.
