Everybody loves pumpkin enrichment!
These are great items because they’re fun for the herbivores to each, the carnivores to tear apart, and everybody to roll and throw around. They’re tactile, olfactory, and edible enrichment all in one!
I believe they’re acceptable on-exhibit enrichment for naturalistic facilities like Brookfield in Chicago, too.
I think of this time of year as Tumblr’s Annual Pumpkining of the Animals Post.
what’s the first movie you remember seeing in theaters? don’t try and be all edgy and cool and say like tetsuo: the iron man. be honest.

porn is bad, and your indulgence in pornography indirectly supports sex trafficking, sexual abuse, and sex addiction, and conditions your own brain to dehumanize people and become aroused by abuse
No it isn’t and none of that is true. Sorry radfems, porn is good. I know you think sex is icky and women should be ashamed of their sexuality and stuff, but get over it. ;)
Silly me. I forgot that celebrating your sexuality included supporting rape, human trafficking, and sex abuse.
In 1986, a review of several epidemiological studies found a positive correlation between the quantity of porn consumption by men and the degree to which they endorsed sexual assault.
A study in 2010 suggests a link between porn consumption and rape-supportive attitudes in men.
A study in 2015 found that pornography consumption was associated with sexual aggression, both verbally and physically.
Researchers at Middlesex University concluded that pornography is linked to unrealistic attitudes about sex, beliefs that women are sex objects, more frequent thoughts about sex, and found that children and young people who view pornography tend to hold less progressive gender role attitudes.
Pornography is addictive. Just like other addictions, users will eventually develop a tolerance and seek more extreme, thrilling, or perverse forms of it to achieve the same “high.”
Pornography is used to train sex slaves.
An interview of 854 women in 9 countries revealed pornography is integral to prostitution. 49% reported that pornography was made of them while in prostitution. 47% reported being upset by a customer’s insistence to perform an act previously seen in pornography. A similar study found 52% of prostitutes reported that pornography played a significant role in teaching what was expected of them as prostitutes.
The demand for pornography fuels the demand for sex trafficking.
About half of sex-trafficking survivors report that porn was made of them while they were in bondage.
The July 2007 issue of Taboo, a publication owned by Hustler, featured a multi-page feature of a young woman being held prisoner and severely sexually abused by her captors. They took photos and videos of her and sold them as porn.
A Miami jury convicted two men of luring women to Florida to audition for modeling jobs, drugging them, filming them being raped, and selling the footage as porn online and to stores across the U.S. This went on for five years.
Egalitarians really be like that huh
88% and nearly 50% of the best selling porn contains physical and verbal aggression towards women.
Viewing of pornography predicts opposition to affirmative action for women, even when controlled for prior opposition to it. Gender did not moderate this association. (@ the moronic beta female ‘’egalitarian’’ above.)
Men who view pornography are significantly less likely to intervene as a bystander, report an increased behavioral intent to rape, and are more likely to believe rape myths.
How porn changes your brain
Pornography addiction: A neuroscience perspective choice quote: yet there is a tendency to trivialize the possible social and biologic effects of pornography. The sex industry has successfully characterized any objection to pornography as being from the religious/moral perspective; they then dismiss these objections as First Amendment infringements. If pornography addiction is viewed objectively, evidence indicates that it does indeed cause harm in humans with regard to pair-bonding.[2] The correlation (85%) between viewing child pornography and participating in actual sexual relations with children was demonstrated by Bourke and Hernandez.[4] The difficulty in objective peer-reviewed discussion of this topic is again illustrated by the attempted suppression of this data on social grounds.[15] The recent meta-analysis by Hald et al. strongly supports and clarifies previous data demonstrating correlation with regard to pornography inducing violence attitudes against women.[10] With such strong correlative data, it is irresponsible not to address the likely possibility of causation in these regards. Reviewing this data in the context of current usage patterns is particularly concerning; 87% of college age men view pornography, 50% weekly and 20 daily or every other day, with 31% of women viewing as well.[5] The predictive effect of pornography on sexual behavior in adolescents has also been demonstrated.[6] Men are at high risk for engaging in forced sexual behavior when their use of pornographic material has instilled and reinforced attitudes involving women as sex objects [9]. Importantly, Simons et al. [10] found that messages in sexually explicit material are more powerful than lessons learned from the family or society, indicating that frequent use of pornographic material tends to taint appropriate moral and social development.
Porn linked to recidivism among child molesters
choice quote : Both observational learning and conditioning processes suggest that repeated exposure to deviant forms of pornography, given the focus on male entitlement and power, help shape an individual’s fantasies, perceptions, rationalizations, and deeper core beliefs.
Around 100 women in Japan were lured to a fake sleep study, then drugged and raped and their rapes were filmed and sold to porn sites
Porn Actress Nikki Benz Sues MindGeek, Brazzers, Co-Stars for Sexual Battery, Gender Violence : during the on-screen ‘‘exit’‘ interviews, used to show porn stars consented to everything, she told the truth and said no, and was forced to re-record it with a positive answer or threatened not to be paid. This is just one of thousands of testimonies of ex-performers.
I clean up the messes of the porn industry. Why are we still questioning whether pornography is oppressive?
Pornography online is driving ‘horrific’ crimes, says top judge
The usual narrative of painting opponents of pornography as prudish, anti-sex and even repressive of women and their sexuality is completely ludicrous in light of all the evidence. It is pornography that promotes regressive views of women, violence against us and shames our bodies and our sexualities. Porn is not good, not for the people who consume it, not even for the performers.
A report on the inquiry into UK prostitution says the Ipswich strategy has 'been successful in eliminating street prostitution and kerb-craw
Managed Zone: Area where prostitution was legally allowed during certain hours of the day but women were more encouraged to come forward to report crimes
Result: Multiple complaints by women being sexually assaulted. Prostitutes are more likely to report things to the police and seek help, but generally don’t feel safer.
Ipswich Stratergy: Crackdown on the men who are buying sex. Offer the women in prostitution more support to get out. Help people who are most likely in prostitution in order to prevent them from entering the industry.
Result: Almost complete elimination of street prostitution, helped women get out of the profession, and prevented others from taking it up.
In conclusion, the Nordic model paired with helping women get out and preventing them from entering helps women.
My most beautiful @themagickcat did this cute little pic game of herself and I wanted to join in on the fun
✨ I would absolutely adore seeing any and all of my followers who’d like to give this a go, feel free to tag me, angels! ✨
Seriously though why is the prostitution debate always surrounded by women’s choices? What about men’s choice to dehumanize a woman by literally purchasing her body for his own pleasure? What about the ancient demand of ownership of our bodies? Why do those get taken out of the equation when liberal feminists talk about rape culture + patriarchy?
“If we want to discuss the issue of choice, let’s look at who is doing the actual choosing in the context of prostitution. Surely the issue is not why women allegedly choose to be in prostitution, but why men choose to buy the bodies of millions of women and children worldwide and call it sex.” - Janice Raymond, Not a Choice, Not a Job
“(…)why men choose to buy the bodies of millions of women and children worldwide and call it sex.”
!!!!!!!
Call me swerf-n-terf all you want but I don’t think a man should be able to walk into a room of impoverished women, point to which on he wants and (if she wants to afford basic necessities) she has to perform sexual acts on him. Nothing about that says “feminism” to me
Watching one of your own get humiliated, tortured, objectified and dehumanized is abuse and a threat. Every woman who’s been exposed to depictions of women being used, brutalized, raped and objectified has felt it on her skin, it was abuse to her, threat to her entire kind, and to her personally. She was being told, in that moment, what the world does to women, what it would do to her. The rest of her life is then just waiting for her to be forced into it, or doing it willingly in hope it wont be so brutal. This is what living on earth is for women. Watching our own being tortured and waiting for our turn.
This is what pornography is doing to us. It’s what media is doing to us. It’s what photoshopped, unnatural and objectified depictions of women are doing to us. It’s what objectifying via makeup is doing to us. Every image and video of women who are presented as something to be used and consumed, is abuse to womankind.
Legit thought this was dworkin.
Caster Semeya is an XY intersex woman with a FEMALE phenotype the fact that you keep calling her a he and a man is so fucking offensive and intersexist.
Yeah this has been pointed out to me frequently.
Dude there’s no easy answer to this problem, especially considering how many intersex disorders there are and how differently they present themselves in each individual.
Like, this started out for me as pretty cut-and-dry. The fact that these regulations only apply to events in which Semenya was competing is clear evidence that they were specifically targeting her. But with the presence of internal testes Semenya naturally produces twice the amount of testosterone that xx females do, so asking her to reduce the levels of testosterone in her body to those of non-intersex females is fair. But then what about other intersex disorders? How are they going to regulate disorders of sexual development that many young men and women don’t even know they have? What other disorders will they choose to regulate and how?
So like, the point stands that if an xx female were to exhibit the same levels of testosterone as Semenya produces naturally she would be banned for doping, because the World Anti-Doping Agency recognizes testosterone as a perfor.ance enhancing drug (and categorizes it as an anabolic steroid no less). But it isn’t fair for them to exclusively target 46 XY gonadal dysgenesis and exclusively in the events in which Semenya competes. But it also isn’t fair to allow her to compete with non-intersex women with Male levels of testosterone.
I don’t think Semenya considered this when she initially challenged the new regulations, but she opened the floodgates for intersex athletes and now every international governing body for athletics got the same giant amalgamous Problem dumped in their lap that you and I are discussing.
How are they going to regulate intersex disorders? Are they going to test every athlete who excels in their sport of choice? Are they going to have a blanket blood test that all athletes must take?
the cotton ceiling
phase 1: divorce gender identity from biological sex since trans people exist, and so some men have vaginas, some women don’t. this removes the ability to talk about physiological differences between men and women with the terms “men and women”, favouring instead “male” and “female”. (”trans men are female on the outside, but men on the inside.”)
phase 2: abolish biological sex to divorce gender identity from physiology even more. since “male” and “female” sometimes refer to gender rather than just sex, replace them with “dmab” and “dfab”, terms which imply that nobody has a ‘correct’ biological sex, just one they were assigned. because trans and intersex people exist, the only consistent difference between dmab and dfab people are chromosomes (kind of) and the presence of a penis (sometimes). these things are almost never relevant. the terms become almost meaningless. (”you can’t associated dfab people with periods, some dfab people don’t have periods. when talking about menstruation, we should call them ‘people with periods’.”)
phase 3: since biological sex doesn’t exist, and the only consistent differences between dmab and dfab people are chromosomes (kind of) and the presence of a penis (sometimes), sexual attraction, if people are able to be attracted to exclusively dmab of dfab people, must be based on these two things. except, of course, we can’t know other people’s chromosomes without having them tested. and, of course, we don’t know who does or doesn’t have a penis without seeing their genitals with our own two eyes, because there is no correlation between secondary and primary sex characteristics at all. therefore, conclude that attraction must be based on something else, the only other option: gender identity.
phase 4: assert that consent is important, and it is okay to be repulsed by penises, because some people are. this is a trait assigned at random, except when it comes to survivors. attraction is based on gender, and not sex, everyone knows that lesbians are attracted to women, and gay men are attracted to men, and both groups may have any kinds of sex characteristics. so, repulsion to (or preference for) penises is only relevant in terms of actual sex acts involving penises, and is just that: nothing more than a preference. this ‘preference’ isn’t linked to homosexuality (linguistically, culturally, as an axis of oppression) in any way. basing any other level of attraction on penis ownership is close-minded: “why are you so focused on genitals? why won’t you date someone with a penis if their gender identity complies with your sexual orientation? do you know that you can have sex with someone with a penis without interacting with it?”
phase 5: question why someone would be repulsed by penises in the first place, since their innate sexuality only influences attraction to gender. if they are not a survivor of trauma, what reason could they have for not liking penises and only liking vaginas? biological sex classes are not real, and there’s no such thing as only being attracted to the physiology of men or women or males or females or dmabs or dfabs: only penises or vaginas. clearly, this is fetishistic and inappropriate. it’s still okay to say no to sex with someone with a penis, but doing so does make you a bad person. “so you choose your partners based on their genitals, and not who they are as people? so all you care about is sex? so you think women are just walking cunts, and that lesbians are obsessed with vaginas?“
phase 6: acknowledge that, due to the aforementioned classes being inconsistent, the only difference between trans women and cis women is that trans women are transgender and cis women are not. some trans women have penises, and of course, it is okay to not have sex with them, if you are willing to analyse why and accept that you are probably a bad person or possibly mentally ill, and are working on bettering yourself. but some trans women have fully transitioned, and there’s no acceptable reason to say no to sex with them, even if you are a fetishistic pervert who only likes vaginas. “you aren’t attracted to her because she’s trans, and you think trans women are disgusting. if you love women then you should love all women. you bigot.”
phase 7: when lesbians start having breakdowns left, right and centre, congratulate them for trying to unlearn their transmisogyny and cissexism. make your criticisms of them so convoluted and obscure that they can’t access the basic language they used to use and are unable to make counterarguments. encourage them to parrot the ideology so far because they’re not like those other freaky lesbians, they’re the good lesbians! keep raising the bar to unattainable standards so that a homosexual female cannot exist authentically as herself without being called a creep and a bigot and a danger to her own lesbian sisters. keep pretending any of this makes sense.
do kids these days know about grace kelly by mika
WHAT. IS. THIS. SORCERY.
1. i can’t believe there are people in the world who haven’t heard this
2. go check out mika he’s great - important to note is that he’s mlm (he’s come out alternately as being gay, bisexual and ‘not interested in labels’ for a while) and a huge amount of his songs are about being mlm so in particular if ya need good mlm artists check him out
Seriously Mika is a gift and sunshine unto this sick sad world
mika is wildly popular in europe but his north american fanbase is like, six people and a napkin, and it’s killing me.
ALSO, he came out as bisexual/‘not interested in labels’ like a decade ago, but much more recently he came out as gay, so he’s gay! his latest album, No Place In Heaven, is almost completely about being gay. it’s got a song abt his sexuality and his religion, a song abt pining for your straight best friend, a song abt the music world that includes the lyrics “where have all the gay guys gone?”, a song abt gay and lesbian solidarity, a song abt heterosexual expectations from family, and two songs that are just abt being super ridiculously in love w your partner.
please listen to Mika’s entire discography because there are a LOT of classics that i’m 100% sure you’ve heard at some point in your life, all the love songs are implicitly gay, it’s great, but ESPECIALLY listen to No Place In Heaven (2015).
it always surprises me to remember that mika isn’t actually a part of the global populace’s general consciousness
because his debut album, life in cartoon motion, was such a huge part of my generation’s tween and teen years
like, i guarantee you, you can walk up to any swedish millennial, and they will still know every single line of his song lollipop
it was just a part of our upbringing;
become a crippling anxious mess
develop an attitude problem
and memorize all of mika’s lollipop
This is so strange for me ‘cause here in Italy Mika has a show on one of the main tv channel
I just love him sooo much ❤❤❤
I just want to point you all to this masterpiece:
I’m American and he’s so obscure and niche here. Seeing people talk about how much they love him and how everyone around them knew him growing up makes me very happy. His music was honestly such an integral part of growing up for me but most people I meet don’t even know who he is.
Now everyone go listen to Mika immediately
I remember being 16 and dancing to Grace Kelly in my best friend’s living room and screaming the lyrics and just feeling so okay in that moment. Mika is one of my favorite memories of that era in my life
Dude, I’ve loved Mika since forever! He’s been one of my fashion inspirations for a long time, with his “magpie” aesthetic and charm. (I’m from the US, btw… maybe it’s partly a generational thing? )
Life in cartoon motion was the first album I ever bought on cd when I was like 9 years old and it's probably still in my top 5 albums ever. I think he was also the first time I ever found out SSA was a thing, didn't know what gay was before him.
The reasons why many men pay for sex are revealed in the interviews that make up a major new piece of research
This entire thing should be a must-read for anyone who has the standard liberal feminist stance on “sex workers” and their “career choices”, or for any radical feminists who are looking for yet more evidence that prostitution is a degradation and that johns are scum.
Some choice excerpts:
“[O]f 700 men interviewed […] just over half were either married or in a relationship with a woman.”
[One participant] said: “I want my ideal prostitute not to behave like one,” he said, “to role-play to be a pretend girlfriend, a casual date, not business-like…”
“I asked [one participant] how often he thought the women he paid enjoyed the sex. ‘I don’t want them to get any pleasure,’ he told me. ‘I am paying for it and it is her job to give me pleasure. If she enjoys it I would feel cheated.’”
“When asked what would end prostitution, one interviewee laughed and said, ‘Kill all the girls.’”
“Almost half said they believed that most women in prostitution are victims of pimps (“the pimp does the psychological raping of the woman,” explained one), lured, tricked, or trafficked. But they still continued to visit them.”
“One of the most interesting findings was that many believed men would “need” to rape if they could not pay for sex on demand.”
“Visiting an area where prostitution is legal or openly advertised [such as Amsterdam or Thailand] had given them a renewed dedication to buying sex when they returned to the UK.”
“[One participant] said: ‘Look, men pay for women because he can have whatever and whoever he wants. Lots of men go to prostitutes so they can do things to them that real women would not put up with.’”
Emphasis added.
The johns interviewed were a very foul mixture of “The girls don’t even pretend to like me, it’s all robotic and mechanical” and “I buy access to these women so I can treat them like dirt and i want them to know it.” One of the johns interviewed even said a prostituted woman asked him to help her, said she had been tricked and brought to London on false pretenses, but he just had sex with her and left because she might have been lying to him. I mean… if anyone needs any more proof that men who buy women hate us, don’t care for us, don’t care about anything except their own feelings and their own orgasms, JUST ASK THE JOHNS. They tell on themselves all the damn time but for some reason certain people don’t want to hear it.

This is who pro-prostiution “anti-SWERF” people fight for.
’Why men use prostitutes:’
Because they’re porn-sick, repulsive and don’t value women as people, next question
Johns are scum.

LIBFEM BULLSHIT. OMFG. I can’t even deal with this right now. Can someone else take this one?
Ana makes more money each year she gains experience in her career
Julia loses money each year because she is seen as an object that is “used up” by her job
Ana’s occupational hazards include repetitive motion injuries and construction accidents, and she is protected by OSHA and workers compensation laws if something happens
Julia’s occupational hazards include rape, pregnancy, beatings, rectal prolapse, murder, PTSD, and sexually transmitted diseases. OSHA does not care.
Ana isn’t offered extra money for failing to wear a hardhat in construction zones
Julia is offered extra money for having sex without a condom
If Ana turns down a client they will go to someone else that can also safely turn them down
If Julia turns down a client they may react violently, or they will go to someone who can’t turn down clients
Ana’s colleagues are like her- they are highly paid and well educated. they all have many options besides being architects. Most of them are men.
Julia’s colleagues are forced into their jobs and have few (if any) options. Almost all of them are women and children.

“In a study submitted at trial with 854 women in 9 countries, including Canada, 89% of women interviewed said they wanted out of prostitution. In another study submitted at trial conducted in the downtown eastside of Vancouver, 95% of prostituted women interviewed said they wanted out of prostitution“
Here are some statistics of what goes on in porn and the industry from an LA based survivor organization
Also read: Why Sex Work Isn’t Work
Also a reminder that “sex work” is not a neutral or objective term but a liberal one (tied in with economics) that specifically comes out of the 1970s United States pro-prostitution movement and is about an ideology that promotes the sex industries by using language to gloss over its harms:
Many in favor of the legalization of prostitution refer to it as “sex work” and employ concepts such as “consent,” “agency,” “sexual freedom,” “the right to work,” and even “human rights” in the course of making their defense.[1] Consider some of the common claims defenders of legalization advance: sex work is work just like any other form of work, only the social shame and stigma around sex prevent people from seeing it as such;[2] many (most) women[3] who sell sex chose to be there, so we should respect their choice and agency, after all they are in no different a position than someone who chooses a minimum wage job without better alternatives;[4] women choosing to sell sex is an example of sexual freedom and rejecting repressive norms that limit women’s sexuality,[5] so we should respect their sexually autonomous choices to sell sex for a living. - Why Sex Work Isn’t Work by Lori Watson
Also, many of the formerly prostituted do not support being called “sex workers” or them being prostituted being called “sex work.”
“In January 2014, 61 South Asian victims and survivors of prostitution as well as women’s groups representing communities marginalized by caste, class and ethnicity and antitrafficking organizations helping girls and women “trapped in bonded labour and other forms of servitude” wrote to Mlambo-Ngcuka to protest the new UN Women policy of avoiding the word prostitution.
“We do not want to be called ‘sex workers’ but prostituted women and children, as we can never accept our exploitation as ‘work,’ ” the letter signers wrote. “We think that the attempts in UN documents to call us ‘sex workers’ legitimizes violence against women, especially women of discriminated caste, poor men and women and women and men from minority groups, who are the majority of the prostituted.”
They are still awaiting an answer from UN Women, Gupta said.
Censoring comment about violence against girls and women is not new in the Commission on the Status of Women or in the UN more broadly. Nafis Sadik, the outspoken executive director of the United Nations Population Fund, or UNFPA, from 1987 to 2000, said in an interview in 2013 that there had been numerous attempts to silence her, often from pressure by governments.” — Prostitution: A Word That UN Women Does Not Want to Hear | March 31, 2015
Cherry Smiley’s AWAN address to the 55th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) at the UN in 2011.

“Please be aware that the term ‘sex work’, which is found in your public policies and documents, came out of the US sex trade of the 1970’s. It was invented with the particular aim of normalising and sanitising prostitution for the public and for lawmakers in particular, and you have done a great service for those who profit from prostitution by your acceptance and adoption of it. Simultaneously you have also – inadvertently, we acknowledge – levelled a painful insult against us. We are, all of us, sex-trade survivors; the living witnesses of a dehumanising trade, and any acceptance of our abuse as ‘work’ further dehumanises us.“ — Open Letter from Survivors, Alliance of Women for the Abolition of Prostitution
Rachel Moran on the terms "Sex Work" and "Sex Worker".

As a guy in terrified. If I piss a woman off, all she has to do is falsely accuse me of rape, then my life will be ruined. I'll be labeled a sex offender and go to prison, because the judge always listens to the woman as they see her as a damsel in distress. I'm terrified. The accusations are happening more and more because of feminism. This is why we need Men's Rights.
As a woman I’m terrified. If I piss a man off, he might threaten, assault, rape, beat, batter, or murder me; then my life will be ruined. I’ll be labeled a “slut” who “wanted it” and have my character dragged through the mud, either by law officers, my friends and/or family, or the court of public opinion, because of rape culture. Violence against women is happening more and more because of men like you. We are literally being killed, tortured, and abused by male entitlement.
This is why we need Feminism.
S
If judges “Always listen to the woman” then why is it that 97% of rapists are not punished even when they have been convicted? And although nearly one in evry five women actually does report being raped, anywhere from 54% to 90% of rapes go unreported, because women know that 94% of reported cases don’t end in a conviction, they typically end in the woman being accused of being a slut, sometimes facing massive social shaming that can end in serious consequences, such as academic retaliation if you accuse the wrong boy at school, further sexual violence and even discharge from the military if you report your C.O., and the ever-present fear that a man you accuse will come after you, rape you again, beat you, possibly even kill you—and if they didn’t care the first time, why would they care if it happens again?
Trust me, sweetheart. your fear is completely unfounded. Men do not need activists for their rights. Men need to wake the fuck up to the privilege and rights they already have and stop acting like scared children every time the faintest whisper of a glimmer of what it must be like to be a woman threatens to become even the faintest part of their reality.
Reblogging because this is a fantastic round up of stats, and I thoroughly appreciate the work that went into finding all of these sources.
1% of rape accusations are false.
where’s that one stat that shows you’re more likely to be struck by lightning than falsely accused of rape?
If you’re that afraid that all women are such evil monsters, we kindly suggest you never interact with us. You’re safe, we’re safe. Everyone’s happy! 😊 Unless… you’re being a hyperbolic crybaby who for some reason, feels his actions may be criticised?
