New Kai hc just dropped (Sorta Monstrosity Spoilers)
After Rusty's death, Kai always ends arguments — even the worst arguments that leave him seething — with the other ninja or people he cares about with some sort of affirmation that he cares about or loves them because the guilt that his parting words with Rusty were nothing but callous eats away at him constantly. He is afraid that some day he'll end a conversation on the wrong note with the wrong person and, who knows? Maybe they'll be gone. Maybe his last words to them would've been arguing. Even over something petty, even if it didn't affect either of them badly, he just can't risk it. They'll reply with 'Huh? I know that, silly' or something of the like, but they'll never truly know. He just suddenly starts blurting out such things before he leaves to calm down, and nobody knows why or when exactly that started.
