I have had Huntr/x on the brain 24/7 going on 8 months now and this includes when I watched Wet Leg perform this past weekend and I could not get the idea of indie rock band version of Mira out of my head while watching Rhian Teasdale on stage. (See pictures for reference) Also check out their music, it has now been added to my listening rotation.
I really feel like Xena: Warrior Princess should be even bigger on here than it is. Like, there's a fantasy-action-adventure-comedy show based around Greek (and, increasingly, other) mythology, and the main character is a former warlord who's only just woken up to the error of her ways. Her name is Xena and her favourite things in the world are fighting, fishing, horses, and booze flamethrowers. And then she meets this woman Gabrielle, who is all the things that Xena isn't: sheltered, optimistic, excited about the concept of experiencing the world, and above all a deeply good person. And they start traveling together, so now Xena's favourite things are fighting, fishing, horses, booze flamethrowers, and Gabrielle, not in that order.
They go on adventures, encountering monsters and greek gods and people Xena knew ten years ago. And also sometimes pirates, vampires, and various incarnations of Jesus. In the meantime, Xena struggles with what it means to try and redeem herself after doing incredible harm, Gabrielle grapples with what place violence has in her life and her identity, and the two of them (at least, implicitly) fall in love. Also, the show experiments wildly with both form and content, doing things like a mockumentary episode, a modern timeline where Xena and Gabrielle are historical figures, and various musical episodes, bodyswaps, clip shows, and alternate timelines. The only thing that's always consistent is that Xena and Gabrielle are soulmates. It's goofy, awesome, and basically tailor-made for tumblr's userbase, and you should watch it if you haven't.

Donald Trump wants people to expose diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in the federal government. The idea is already flopping.
The threat was loud and clear: Report your so-called “DEI” employees or else. What exactly “DEIA or similar ideologies” means is up in the air, but the message was out there. And so was the email address of the DEIA snitching hotline. Fake emails quickly started to roll in. ‘I don’t care, fuck these McCarthyite bastards,” one BlueSky user said, with an screenshot attached of an email to the hotline where he ironically reported Donald Trump and JD Vance for being “put in their positions solely because of their race and/or gender despite the fact that they are wholly unqualified for their jobs and, in some cases, have criminal records.” “Anyone have a script to fire off a billion e-mails an hour??” another user asked in the replies. “Anyone can email anything of any size even if it crashes the site,” one X user noted. The scope and effectiveness of this latest phase of Trump’s anti-DEI crusade remains to be seen.

Hell, some of you might not even need to wait until midterms because of 2025 special elections. Every seat in the House that is projected to be up for grabs is red.
It should also be noted that turnout for "off year" elections is almost always lower, and House Speaker Mike Johnson is already contending with one of the narrowest margins in US history. If House Republicans want to successfully further Trump's agenda, they need to be in lockstep because there is next to no room for defection.
If you live in Florida or New York, take a couple minutes to look up who your representatives are. If it's Matt Gaetz, Michael Waltz, or Elise Stefanik, you might already have the opportunity to do the funniest shit imaginable.

The Sophie “this isn’t her stage” reveal. The bait and switch that they meant for Dubenich to know he was being conned. “It’s a walk away job” but none of them do. “So go find some bad guys. Bad guys have money.” It does so much good work to establish what this show and these characters could become without jumping the gun on making them get too close too fast.
Like, the thesis of the episode is Nate’s “You all know what you can do, but I know what you can do together” and it’s such a fantastic way to handle a pilot because it’s all about potential: we understand immediately that these people are already hyper competent, but by the end of the episode we see what they could become together too. It’s about showing you the tentative beginnings of this partnership and all the space it still has to grow.
