Castle went such an interesting direction with Kate and Rick's relationship. When I was watching it live back in HS I got bored after they got together cause, but now as an adult I appreciate the direction so much, even though I understand why teenager me didn't get much out of it.

They removed a lot of the constant tension between then when they got together, at first they kept some by needing "to keep it a secret", but there weren't any really big fights, and any disagreements or misunderstandings were solved quickly. They let these 2 ppl who had been pining for years just be so incredibly happy and satisfied together. Demonstrating the most beautiful, loving, and mature romantic relationship I've ever seen on TV. I love it so much. Most shows would have done things to force arguments or make them have unhealthy relationship stuff going on to try and keep that tension, but not Castle. It's just so incredibly refreshing to watch as an adult.

Also, the absolute joy and love on Beckett's face watching Castle go into his theories or him being excited gets me every time. It's like the relief of finally not having to hide how happy he makes her and how funny she thinks he is magnifies her happiness exponentially.
