The DC fandom likes to call Matt Hagen gay in BTAS to rage about him being involved with women in the movie. He was bi in BTAS. He had a relationship with a woman after Teddy. And since it was only an "If you know, you know" kind of thing, never explicitly said because it was the 90's, it's no surprise they'd cut it from a COMIC BOOK movie, where their fanbase is loaded with sensitive Straight men.
They at least will NOT show or mention him being queer in the promotion of the movie, that is for damn sure!

The finale so successfully erased the show from public consciousness, that when people tried to come up with a name for the "extremely popular show with finale so bad that people just immediately stop talking about it" phenomenon, people called it... the Game of Thrones Effect. HIMYM got memoryholed so hard that people forgot it even existed
Well, the only people who really hate the HIMYM finale are the Ted/Robin haters and the Barney/Robin stans. (Though it was kind of dumb to just kill off the mother after, like, 10 years of build-up.)
The GOT finale is undeniably bad.

keep thinking about how I wrote in my dissertation about how every time a new form of public/social space emerges it's immediately popular with kids and teenagers who see it as a chance at freedom and then adults colonise it and kick them out. this happened with malls in the 80s and diners in the 50s and pool halls in the 20s. my dad was doing research on this trend in like 1975. and I was like "yeah so this is going to happen to the internet" and then five years later every government suddenly decided to ban kids from everywhere online. I hate being right especially when I don't even get paid for it
Except that the internet was not made for kids or teens, and they really should NOT be online, except for specifc kid or teen spaces, like Club Penguin.
If anything, adults are being extremely censored online nowadays "to protect the children." Just look at how absurdly censored Tumblr and Pinterest have come! You can even have fictional blood or kissing for your story-board anymore, or they'll flag it.
This applies to SO many mfs, but particularly the fangirlie who got really mad yesterday on one of my recent posts (bitching in the tags) because I said (factually) that her (presumed) fave(s) would be awful romantic partners, and that portraying those characters as "lovingly and romantic" is a clear sign that you don't actually like that character.
I'm not being a Puritan about fiction here; I'm calling out the insane hypocrisy!

This bullshit is reminiscent of a video I got recommended on YT 2 or 3 years ago saying that we were groomed by shows like Pretty Little Liars. What else, dipshit Miss Moral Majority, do you believe that horror movies and M for Mature video games are teaching people to be murderers and drug dealers?
Calling anything bad or inappropriate (or that you simply deem bad or inappropriate) "grooming" is a slap in the face to actual victims of grooming. And it causes artists making art to be slandered and even harassed.
Even age-inappropriate relationships are not inherently Grooming. The Scream fandom likes to say that Richie groomed Amber when that is canonically not true. He was a creep, yes, but it was not grooming. (And for 1000th time, they are both FICTIONAL and SERIAL KILLERS!) Many people say that Karen groomed Billy (Stranger Things), but that is literally not possible because not only was he was attracted to her on his own, but they barely even knew each other! I hate that whole thing, and I think Karen is disgusting, but she did not groom him.
My point is: USE WORDS CORRECTLY, and leave artists and fans the fuck alone!

If you wouldn't comment about someone being dangerously overweight, don't comment about someone being dangerously thin. And vice versa.
Autistic characters are the new queer characters.
Most thing nowadays will have characters be openly queer, when in the past, there was pretty much only Queer Coding.
Now, characters will be clearly Autistic Coded, but the writers either don't realize it or they're too afraid to say it. And I understand that sometimes it doesn't fit within the narrative (especially considering time period), but someone could at least mention it in an interview!
