Oat milk was discovered much more recently than you may have known. Like many now-familiar technologies, it was found by accident during the Apollo program when NASA learned what a zero-g environment does to goat milk.

We have this interesting situation where we basically no longer have privacy nor the expectation of privacy, but we also don't have community or meaningful connection with others, so we're all simultaneously both completely exposed and absolutely alone, and please understand that when I say this situation is "interesting", what I in fact mean is that it's "nightmarish and I wish I could wake up"
Since it's mid-august it's time for a reminder for the DIY folks or those who like to cosplay
It's about that time of year again, and after having this circulate for a year now, it interesting seeing some observations:
Despite making this post in August, this post spikes in brief periods throughout the year, depending on when folks like to start.
Reading all the cool costume projects people are working on
Some of you animals reblog this on November 1st
Note: If you have a young child this post is NOT FOR YOU.
If the child is under 5: Do not start the costume yet, or they will grow out of it by Halloween. Ask me how I know.
If the child is between 5 and 8: Do not start the costume yet, they will change their mind three times between now and Halloween, and you'll be stuck with a costume they refuse to wear. Again, ask me how I know.
If the child is over 8, I have no idea. Maybe this post is for you, after all. My chaos-child is still only 7, so I have no idea what horrors await beyond my current experience. But you can be damned sure I'm waiting til at least September to start their costume.
Idk who OP is but yeah
Send me to Mars with party supplies before next august 5th
No guys you don’t understand.
The soil testing equipment on Curiosity makes a buzzing noise and the pitch of the noise changes depending on what part of an experiment Curiosity is performing, this is the way Curiosity sings to itself.
So some of the finest minds currently alive decided to take incredibly expensive important scientific equipment and mess with it until they worked out how to move in just the right way to sing Happy Birthday, then someone made a cake on Curiosity’s birthday and took it into Mission control so that a room full of brilliant scientists and engineers could throw a birthday party for a non-autonomous robot 225 million kilometres away and listen to it sing the first ever song sung on Mars*, which was Happy Birthday.
This isn’t a sad story, this a happy story about the ridiculousness of humans and the way we love things. We built a little robot and called it Curiosity and flung it into the star to go and explore places we can’t get to because it’s name is in our nature and then just because we could, we taught it how to sing.
That’s not sad, that’s awesome.
*this is different from the first song ever played on mars (Reach For The Stars by Will.I.Am) which happened the year before, singing is different from playing
This is humanity

your regular reminder that this wouldn't happen if y'all don't keep the fandom alive and every ticket is directly funding the oppression of trans people, especially trans women but trans men are not exempt, and cis Black women

Hey, Bandcamp users. You have probably already heard, but Bandcamp was bought by a music licensing firm, and laid off half its staff "as a cost cutting measure."
I will be downloading everything I purchased from Bandcamp and keeping an eye on it.
In a significant shift of ownership, Bandcamp, the renowned digital music marketplace, has officially transitioned from its previous owner,
I do kinda think we gotta start burning private equity guys alive on some kind of pyres in the streets.
