it comes off HORRIBLY too. Makes me feel less than human ! The whole "your alters" thing, like they aren't anybody significant, like they are the "others" and you're the only real one! That's gross as fuck and makes us feel dehumanized !!!! And it's WORSE when it comes to fics where Character Has DID because a vast majority of the time it's written by someone who doesn't have DID and clearly did minimal research on it.

AND A LOT OF THE TIME ITS "oh this character has some weird possession / magical / spiritual / superpower thing going on and they are kind of multiple people, so I should give them DID!!!"

which is great, unless you're in the DC fandom and the character you're talking about is shitty god awful white boy Tim Drake who gets BRAIN WASHED into being akin to THE JOKER, becoming the persona known as Joker Jr! And everybody turns that into DID and it makes me want to bash their heads in. Brain washing is Not the same thing as DID. Please. You people want to make the most uninteresting, piece of shit white boy into everything he's not, please never come near my system 🙏🙏
