i feel like dorcas and marlene would both idolise each other a lot. like i know a lot of people see it as marlene being a loser lesbian obsessed with her goddess girlfriend. and i veryyyy much agree with that.

but also it's the same way round with dorcas. dorcas is ALSO a loser lesbian obsessed with her goddess girlfriend.

marlene is awkwardly social, doesn't think before speaking, rants for hours about obscure subjects, failing most of her school classes, dresses very masculine, does not get social queues/norms. and dorcas is extremely attractive, a quidditch prodigy, extremely talented witch, gets tops marks in most subjects, gets social queues/norms.

but also dorcas is socially awkward, rarely talks to people, is an outcast in her house and has no close friends for most of school, also dresses very masculine, has 0 sense of style. and marlene has a close friend group throughout school, does talk to people, has style, is very talented in non school related ways.

lily evans is a vegetarian; the idea of eating something that once lived makes her feel sick.

mary macdonald always wears colour coordinated outfits, there’s always that perfectly equal amount of colour and the colours always go together perfectly.

marlene mckinnon is a bedtime procrastinator, she rarely goes to bed on time.

mary 100% does pre-shower makeup and has been walked on multiple times whilst doing so (she tries to hide in the bathroom but marlene has a weak ass bladder so sometimes barges their way in lmao).

mary is the worst for education related procrastination (so real).

dorcas meadows has a variety of hair beads and will always match them with her outfits. bonus: marlene finds the way her beaded braids sway mesmerising.

lily loves pink but hates pink clothes.

mary is aromantic. she thought crushes were just people you randomly selected and has way too much fun pretending to romantically like people whom she actually just thinks are fit.

dorcas is partially deaf and is fluent in sign language (she wears pretty green hearing aids).

in third year, pandora actually frequents the hospital wing more than remus. it’s mostly because of all her experiments. progressively, the visits lessen as her experiments grow more and more successful (doesn’t stay that way..)

firm believer that pandora was a conspiracy theorist and disliked the usage of wands because she thought they were made to limit power. she began learning wandless magic in her free time.

lily was fucking powerful and a brilliant witch, but struggled heavily with the cultural aspects of the wizarding world because she was muggleborn. therefore, she started a casual tutor session for first year muggleborns so that they could get to grips with this new world and all it’s practices.

pandora was a ravenclaw and i refuse to accept the hc that she was a slytherin, it doesn’t fit with my idea of her character.

pandora is incredibly unorganised so dorcas made her a lil schedule <3. for the larger part, it was to help, but it was also for dorcas’ sanity.

adding onto that, ocd!dorcas. i feel like she’s so passionately against blood supremacy that she sometimes has intrusive thoughts in relation to it. plus, she loves the tidy and perfectly planned lifestyle because it gives her a sense of control and balance. marlene’s chaotic, careless personality was actually a massive factor in their whole enemies to lovers thing but she actually ended up being a big support for dorcas because they were always willing to help ease her irrational worries and fears.

Quidditch Rivals enemies to lovers Dorlene hcs bc I can picture this moment so clearly in my head where Marlene is ranting about stupid Dorcas and her stupid perfect hair, and her stupid perfect smile, and her stupid perfect everything and I really want to hear your hcs about it (if you have any)

not only are they rivals on the pitch, but they’re rivals in class, too. the difference between them is that dorcas actually puts effort in her studies, meanwhile marlene has a great memory, but sometimes it fails her, and meadowes is right during class while she isn’t

they always glare at each other while on the pitch. whether they’re training together or during a match, they are always staring at each other

when dorcas got assigned as the slytherin team captain, marlene was FURIOUS. she was not jealous that she hadn’t gotten captain, but why did meadowes have to get it?

whenever gryffindor wins, marlene goes out of her way to take the piss out of dorcas, to rub it in her face that her team won, and that slytherin lost

because she likes seeing dorcas riled up, but dorcas knows better than to show her how she really feels under that cool and collected facade

whenever slytherin wins, however, dorcad just gives marlene a superior smirk, and marlene is SEETHING. it’s even worse than when she makes fun of dorcas, because that superior smirk is annoying her to no end

because sirius and james go together to the pitch, marlene is accompanied by mary, to whom she sometimes talks before practice or before matches

sometimes about classes, sometimes about how horrible meadowes is

and said conversations about meadowes and how annoying she is turn into how stupidly perfect she is for literally no reason and mary’s like 😐

she just needs to figure out that she has a big fat crush on her rival that’s all

her hands are calloused from building and making things. when sirius brought home the bike as a passion project, marlene was the only other person who was allowed to work on it. the two of them would spend hours working on fixing the bike, and for as much as sirius wanted to use magic to repair the bike itself, marlene really talked him out of that

I firmly believe for all of our gay wizards they don't spend their twenties entirely in the wizarding world, and instead have one foot in muggle culture. that is particularly true for marlene, as a butch lesbian, because of the implications of nonconformity in a closed society

super close with her brothers, grew up playing with them outside even though it was "unbecoming of a young lady"
