We all know that Jason's relationships (both fanon and canon) are questionable in some way, but I just need one crack AU where Jason just stays in a relationship with all his partners at the same time. Technically and legally, not emotionally. And no, they're not poly, at least not really, mostly complicated. I want him to be married multiple times through different customs and in different countries/places and somehow not divorced properly even once.

Also, an ideal fic for this AU would be one of the types where Batfam finds out about that.

Given Jason's most popular relationships, this AU would have to include such partners of his as: Artemis, Essence, Isabel, Kyle, Rose and Roy. (Of course, I wouldn't include anyone associated with the bat clan here - because the shock wouldn't be the same.)

So let's talk about this mess - how everyone is involved:

First of all, it all started with Essence. We all know that Durca liked Jason, thought he had potential and is their chosen one. She also knew that there was something going on between him and her daughter. So she offered Essence a solution to their mother-daughter conflict, which was simply to marry this boy. He will be her son-in-law, so he will be responsible for all the things Essence doesn't want to be (or Durca doesn't want her to be) - this will also connect him more with the whole all-caste. Essence wasn't sure at first, because she would have to respect her vows if she made them, but then she thought that at some point she would have to have someone to have at least one child with to continue the all-caste legacy, and who was better than the guy she somehow liked and their chosen one. So they get married. Jason is unaware of the significance of the ceremony - he thinks they're celebrating his quick mastery of techniques. He realises it later when Essence essentially tells him (while asking) that:

From now on, if I ever want to use any civilian identity, I will introduce myself as Medea Irene Todd, do you have a problem with that?

And he doesn't, because he likes to think he's found some strange family here in the mountains. And it's not like they want him to stay there permanently - just to be part of their community. He also didn't think the marriage meant anything more than a basic bond, and he didn't think Essence intended to actually exploit it.

Then all-caste disappeared, but Essence is alive (perhaps with their child/children) and it became his problem.

Then came Rose and the first marriage of conviniece. They met on a mission, bonded quickly, noticed they had enough spark to fool around, and married to annoy Slade. Being a not-so-fake couple was supposed to help Rose become more independent. Their time together was to help build a healthier relationship between her and her father. Particularly after a divorce, when he would have been glad that his little girl had made such a wise decision. What they didn't foresee, however, was that there was a chance that Slade would want a son-in-law like Jason. And that he would fixate on the idea of having a grandchild from them. Because of this, they are still married to this day, as Slade has cancelled all their attempts to get a divorce. And he continues to hope that they will get back together. As the marriage was outside the USA they gave up with terminating it and hardly think about it. Surprisingly, apart from the persuasions to reunite with Rose, Jason continues to have a better relationship with Slade with each passing year and to this day he savours when Slade calls him his son.

Dick heard this once before the explanation and thought the hallucinations had returned.

Next up was Roy and a second marriage of conviniece, but this time in the USA. They both realised quite quickly that they needed legal documents to function properly as a unit. And what document can beat a marriage licence? None. Over the years they developed their strange relationship between love and friendship. With time, their joint legal documentation became mixed up with Roy's custody of Lian, so the idea that they might need a divorce if they met someone else was pushed further to the back of their minds. If Roy died in this AU, during the year(s) in which he remained dead, Jason would refer to himself as a widow and look after Lian (shocking the rest of the hero community when they finally noticed because they thought Lian had died earlier). Whether Roy would have died, returned, or functioned properly the whole time, their relationship would have remained at the same unidentified level. Anyone who hooked up with one or the other after they fused knew that they were balancing a poly relationship.

Maybe at some point they separated it but I doubt it.

After Roy Jason met Isabel, his only civilian girlfriend. Unfortunately, they didn't marry, but she almost became his fiancée. She liked the idea of keeping her parents at bay by marrying someone influential. However, Jason's “anti-hero” life was not for her. Neither was being possessed by one of his wives. Nevertheless, the initial plan was used several times before she found herself in a new serious relationship - making a lot of information about the two of them circulate online.

Probably even after she has started a new relationship she continues this farce, as there is little chance that she will find someone equally intimidating.

A little later Artemis appeared in Jason's life and he fell hard for her. As she had her own strange relationship with the amazons, neither of them were concerned about his martial status. While working with Bizzaro, they even came to the conclusion that they might need some paperwork and legal status to be there for Bizz. So they both got married in a random country, which also gave them the right to adopt Bizz and also according to Amazon customs, so Artemis could recognised them as her own. I'm guessing that amazons consider (in their law) a relationship with a man to be somewhat less important, which makes them both look at their relationship as something secondary - regardless of their chemistry. This means that Artemis gets her woman and can introduce herself as Artemis Grace Todd (or Wayne, if need be) and Jason can simply say that this or that is within his amazon wife's competence and introduce himself as Jason Peter Todd, the husband of Bana-Mighdall.

They are a match made in hell in terms of relationships.

Last but not least in this mix would be Kyle and their love/hate relationship that developed behind the stage. They flirted with each other many times during their dimension hopping days. They then met a few times while Jason was in space. While flirting they somehow got married several times through some alien culture. They realised this after Kyle Lantern's corp profile was updated. They decided to finally try dating on Earth. Kyle wasn't sure what to think about Jason's legal status. But they had a good relationship, so he decided to try and get to know the other five and then decide what to do next. At this point he decided to just go with it, because it's not like Jason is actively with all of them, mostly just Roy, and he and Roy get along surprisingly well ….

If nothing else has happened with the other partners, Kyle and his lantern's profile are the reason everyone has found out about it.

How do I imagine the batfam conversation after they found out?

Dick: And how can you know about relationships, Little Wing? You're not even in one. Jason: Technically I am in 6. Dick, after a few secounds: You are in a poly relationship... ? -- Silence in the Batcave -- Bruce, uncertainly: ..., are you happy in it? Jason, disbelieving: I am not poly. Well, not really I guess.. Tim, quicly: Why are you not certian? Jason: As I said, it is all technically… Damian, with pretension: I didn't realise you had spouses other than Essence. Who are they? Does mother know? Rest of bats, quicly: Spouses? Dick and Bruce, together: Talia knows!? Dick: Are you married and didn't invite us to your wedding?! Bruce, mumbling: Am I that bad ... Are we not getting better? Stephanie, curious: And why Damian knows?! Tim, guessing: Is it someone from the league? Jason: Actually, I'm not sure why he knows, but it's not like I knew about it from the beginning either. Cass: Explain. Jason: So like I said, I technically married Essence in my league days, but she's not exactly league. It's more like a cult of magic... We didn't divorce. Stephanie: Ok ok, but quick question. Essence is only one lady? You said there were 6? Jason: I married her and never divorced her. I married Rose and tried to divorce her 3 years later, but I'm pretty sure Slade undid it…. Dick: Slade undone your divorce... !? Jason, continuing: In the meantime, I married Roy in Vegas. So I guess I'm a widow now? Later on I met Isabel and almost proposed. We hit it off well, but then Essence possessed her, so we ended it, but stayed in touch. I'm pretty sure she's still using me as an excuse not to marry some random man that her parents prefer. Then I met Artemis. She's too Amazonian to settle down in a man's world, but she thinks I'm important, so I'm sure she married us according to their standards... Duke,quietly analysing and judging: Ok, we'll come back to Roy later, but it's still only 5 people? Jason: Nowadays I'm dating Kyle. But we also got married before we started dating in another galaxy. Several times, ...? Alfred: Master Jason, let's get this straight… You've been married over 6 times and I haven't organised a single wedding? Barbara, who has so far listened quietly: Even better, he didn't tell you about your great-grandchild(ren)...

Instead of the Lazarus pit making Jason full of rage and green. It makes him act on his desire, taking over his consciousness to do whatever he's hiding deep down.

It scared him, because he doesn't want to know what he truly wants. He doesn't want to know (he already does though)

It happened during his stay with Ducra after Talia dropped him off at the All-Caste.

He was just feeling lonely, and then green slowly seeping into his vision and his eyelids close . He felt floaty, bubbly; he didn't want to wake up.

But like all good things, they come to a close, and Jason opens his eyes.

He opens then to find that he was lying down on someone's lap. Someone who was stroking his head slowly and gently.

It, it felt nice...

Jason wonders how long it's been since someone last did this for him? Probably before his mum died... Bruce never did, the most was ruffling his hair after patrol or him doing something good.

He than realised that tears were falling down his face. He's always been a crier, and for some reason, he just can't stop as he snuggles closer to who he presumes is Ducra who just sighs while continuing to pay Jason's head, muttering about how Jason is still just a pup despite his big size.

Talia was a wise woman. A great woman in fact. She healed Jason's mind and brought him to the all caste so he could heal his soul. Perhaps it was because she wanted to give him the chance to live a new life, far away from anything that could remind of the horrors from his past. That's what Jason thought at least. But truthfully, that wasn't the reason. She still remembered lowering Jason into the lazarus' waters. His brown eyes had faded to a milky blue after his death but once the waters engulfed him they turned an acidic green. His arm snapped to grab hers like he was being jerked about by puppet strings. He lacked any of the grace he had when fighting and any of the lifelessness he had whilst doing anything else. Suddenly, the green was spilling down his cheeks and green smoke came out of his eyes. The voice that spoke from his lips was not his. It was some sort of cacophony of what she could only assume were hundreds of spirits somehow possessing the poor boy.

"Betrayed and forgotten,

two sons rise again,

to destroy the pantheon,

to end their fathers' rein,

with blades of soul,

and control of the sky,

they've paid their toll,

their victory is nigh,

whose side are you on?

make your choice,

when the new king arrives,

the wise will rejoice."

After the last word was spoken, Jason's skin became agonisingly hot. Talia dropped him after she felt her fingers begin to blister and stared down into the pit. For a moment, time stood still. None of her guards dared to move and she continued to look, transfixed, into the waters. Suddenly, a hand burst through the surface and Jason emerged different. His eyes were a turquoise shade she'd only ever seen once and the white hair streak he gained only cemented her line of thought. Blades of soul? The turquoise of the All Acres' pools? The white hair of the All Caste? It was the only sensible conclusion.

When they arrived, they were greeted by Ducra who swiftly got Jason settled in a room that was clearly occupied by someone else too. "Your new roomate is up on the eagle if you want to meet him. Talia and I have some things to discuss so I'll leave you to it Man-child." Jason frowned at the name but decided not to argue. He looked over his roomates side of the room and figured he'd put his detective skills to use. The guy's belongings were organised militaristicly neat. His clothes were spotless and folded into perfect squares. The only other thing that hinted at a personality was a pile of sketchbooks. Jason grabbed the one on the top of the pile and flicked through the pages. Most of them were charcoal sketches but occasionally there would be a few watercolour paintings. The one that stood out to him most was a girl who's hair and clothes were drawn with charcoal. Her skin was left nearly completely white except for some cross hatching to show shadows. The part that caught his eye was the electric blue paint that filled her eyes and dripped down her cheeks in the shape of tears. Her expression seemed... like she'd found something she thought was lost forever. Perhaps a lost toy from her childhood. Maybe a lost piece of jewelry that she got from someone special. For some reason, the next idea Jason had was a lost hero.

He shook his head and placed the sketchbook back on the pile. There was nothing else he could learn about his roomate here so he started looking for the eagle. He wasn't sure what the eagle meant until he saw a massive statue of an eagle perched on the top of one of the mountains. There were a few floating islands that led like a path up to the eagle so Jason wasted no time and hopped across. They circled around one of the outstretched wings and Jason leaped onto it. All this jumping was reminding him of rushing over the roof tops as Robin. The memory briefly brought a smile to his face until he remembered what happened after that. A bitter taste filled his mouth so to distract himself, he kept looking for the mystery man.

A soft tune floated through the breeze from a top the eagles head. Jason climbed up to it with ease and found a blonde boy playing a flute. He seemed to be lost in the melody. His blonde hair gently swayed with the wind and Jason thought it was fitting since he was playing a wind instrument so beautifully. His eyes turned to the boys lips that were masterfully controlling the flute. He had a scar on his lip and Jason wondered how he got it. Probably in battle if he was being trained by the all caste. Jason patiently waited for the boy to stop playing before he cleared his throat. The boys eyes snapped open and Jason noted they were the same electric blue he used for the painting of that girl. A gust of wind snatched Jason into the air by the collar of his shirt before the boy realised he wasn't a threat. His eyebrows shot up and he quickly let Jason down.

"Oh my gods I'm so sorry." The other boy panickedly apologised. "It was just instict I didn't mean to-"

"Its fine." Jason reassured as his lips quirked up into a smirk. He suspected he was going to get along with his roomate just fine. "I get it. I've gone through shit too. If you ever catch me off guard, I can't promise I won't judo flip you."

"Just don't hit me with a brick and we'll be fine. Gods this is such a bad first impression for my new roomate." The boy seemed to relax and let out a chuckle. "How'd you know I've been through stuff?"

"Well you pack light so either you're really into minimalism or you're used to having to live on the move a lot and if you ended up here, I'm gonna guess that's not because you just love travelling. Also, you currently have great footing for if someone were to attack you and your muscles don't seem like they're there just for vanity. Oh and the whole wind powers thing."

"You're perceptive."

"Thanks?" Jason responded unsure how to take a compliment. Bruce and Alfred didn't compliment him much. They were more likely to compare him to Dick and tell him his faults than they were to tell him his strengths. He decided to think about that later or preferably never and push the conversation forward. "I'm Jason. What's your name?"

"Jason?"

"That's my name."

"No I mean I'm also called Jason."

"Oh."

"Maybe we should get nicknames or something so when other people refer to us we aren't confused."

"Good idea. Ducra called me man child but I'd prefer to go by something different."

"Lucky, she calls me zappy."

"Why?"

"I have lightning powers as well as wind stuff."

"Cool. I have no powers except for coming back from the dead randomly."

"No way. Me too!"

"Crazy. Well anyways, how about I be..." Jason thought for a moment. "I think I'll call myself tire iron or Iron for short."

"I asume there's a story behind that?"

"There is." Jason smiled remembering when he called batman a "big boob".

"A long time ago I had a coin called Ivlivs. It was gold and could turn into a sword or a spear. I think I'll call myself Gold."

"Yeah, you look like a Gold."

"And you have silver hair so I guess we chose well. By the way, how old are you? Sixty? "

"Ha ha." Jason playfully rolled his eyes. "Well I died a few months before I turned fifteen. When I crawled out my grave, my sixteenth brithday had passed. By the time my mind was restored my seventeenth birthday had already happened but mentally? Your guess is as good as mine."

Gold thought it over before asking. "What age do you want to be?"

"Seventeen feels too far away but fifteen was a literall life ago. So I think I want to be sixteen."

"That's funny because I died a bit before I turned sixteen but I've worked out that only considering the time I've been alive I'd be seventeen."

"What's funny about that?"

"Well, you know. You just look so old with your white hair." Gold joked and Silver pretended to sigh in exasperation.

"Careful, I might push you off this eagle."

"You could but I can fly so it wouldn't achieve much."

"How fast can you fly?" Jason asked glancing at the way he came up.

"Pretty fast. Why?"

"Okay then scratch my original idea. Race you to our room no flying?"

"You're on!"

And just like that they were off. Talia watched the two from afar and recounted to Ducra the prophecy she'd heard. "It seems these two have more in common than just their names and returns from the grave. They share a fate." Talia ruminated and Ducra nodded.

"It would seem so. Their victory is assured. Why do you worry for the man child?"

"I'm not worried for him... I'm worried for his father. I've had to choose between Bruce and my Father before and it killed me. I'm not sure who I should choose between Bruce and Jason."

"Isn't Bruce your beloved?" Ducra questioned.

"Yes but he should've protected Jason more. Even if Jason's death was part of his destiny, Bruce shouldn't have made him feel unwanted or badmouth him after his death."

For a moment, the only noises that reached their ears were the Jasons' distant laughter.

"Then it seems you know who you should choose."

Talia sighed and tried to forget the days when her beloved seemed like a pure, uncomplicated hero. "It seems so."

okay, so there's no way i can actually write this fic, it's maybe too angsty for me? i just know i've been dissociating hard just thinking about it so let's purge the idea of my head. everyone feel free to write this fic, just tag me so i can go and read it. and who knows, maybe i will write it if i feel like i can get my ideas in order.

ANYWAY (timeline? what timeline?)

jason todd, after gotham war, with an implant in his head that makes him feel fear every time his adrenaline spikes, can't live in gotham anymore. once the criminal world in gotham find out about it he's hunted down like an animal, his normal nightmares just wake him up to more nightmares, there's no escape, no place safe. he runs from gotham, from the country. he leaves everything behind to go underground, as far away as he can manage. he returns to the all caste to hide from the world and as a way to at least be safe inside his head he erases all of his memories. everything. there's no bruce, no joker, no sheila, no catherine, no willis.

bruce notices the red hood is gone. he tries to search for him but there's no trace of him, he's just gone. damian says that talia helped him leave but he doesn't know where he is or if he'll ever come back. every once in a while bruce tries to look for him to no avail. barbara has a notification for a face scan world wide, tim has alarms in case he ever returns to gotham. still, jason is gone and life goes back to normal.

years pass and the world is under attack of the untitled and they have no idea how to save it. talia appears telling them the only way it can be saved is working with the all caste, there's a seer inside the caste that has seen what's going to happen and she needs to take them there. talia takes bruce to the chambers of all, even when all she wants to do is see gotham burn.

they arrive and ducra is waiting for them. (ducra knows who bruce is, who he is to jason but it's no longer important, she doesn't tell bruce any of this) ducra takes them to the seer but warns them that he's not completely here, that his mind has lived in the past-present-future and everything that could-would-will happen that he's kinda gone, that he paid the price with his memories so it doesn't matter. bruce doesn't care because he only wants to save the world and has no attachment to this seer.

they go to the chamber of the seer.

it's jason.

god, imagine jason, no memories, frustrated with the world and what it did to him, angry and unable to do anything about it looking at bruce and being like: i'm disappointed. i always wondered what type of person would do this to me? what did i do to make someone hate me this much? but i see you're just a normal human man.

A/N: if i ever get what the plot of this fic is actually about instead of just, you know, jus angst porn, i will write it. i love making jason suffer, but i also love bruce suffering the consequences of his own actions, and amnesia fics are just my jam, i fucking love them! i don't know where everyone else is in this fic, maybe dick and damian go with bruce to the chambers of all while tim and barbara man the fort back in gotham and dick goes all angsty-brother-filled-with-guilt at seeing seer!jason. and maybe jason is still a stubborn pice of shit, he still gets angry even if he doesn't understand why, he still holds grudges even when he no longer has memories. maybe seer!jason knows what's supposed to happen and joins them in gotham. also, imagine seer!jason sacrificing himself for people he doesn't remember because he knows that's what's supposed to happen. also, is there anyway to add jaydick to this fic??? i just love them so much.

My first impression

I think I probably ran into her first in fic but I don't actually remember anything in that regard. First impression with the comic was that this was a character with a pretty design but somewhat... confusing of a storyline.

My impression now

God her canon portrayal is so annoying and inconsistent I SWEAR. Jason and her misunderstanding and misinterpretating what's going on and immediately jumping to kill each other has happened EVERY TIME and what is the point!!! Her backstory and motivations are so opaque and the flashbacks to their time together in the All-Caste keep on dangling the promise of an interesting story in front of me and then not delivering. Lobdell and Tynion IV when I GET YOU--

However I've thought about her too much and now I have brainworms. She is the side character I have adopted as my own. I understand her better than her creators ever will <3 (I have extrapolated a lot of conclusions from like 3 panels out of all her appearances. It is working out for me.)

Favorite thing about that character

The concept for her character. Particularly as a daughter to Ducra and one of the original Untitled. The fact she's been banished from the All-Caste apparently for not being willing to give up her "dark powers" when Ducra did? That's so interesting to me. It could be such a good parallel to how Jason's moral code causes a rift between him and Bruce. Tell me more. Lobdell you will surely explore this further, won't you? Lobdell aren't you gonna-- LOBDELL

Least favorite thing

Can I complain about Lobdell again. I will not. Instead I will complain about how her little like... intro narration box? You know the thing where comics will give you a little line to tell you who a character is if you don't know them already. Hers is that she's the "last human descendant of the All-Caste" which is just WRONG? She is the DAUGHTER OF THE UNTITLED. She is like, objectively not human at this point. JASON is the last human descendant of the All-Caste, maybe. Y'know, the first human they've taken in in over a century and the first in millennia to survive a cleansing? Y'know, that guy?? Also she literally reinstated the All-Caste at this point in the timeline why are we calling her the last human descendant. She's literally they're leader right now. I'm so mad I'm so mad I'msofmkgekmreklgm

Also I really don't like that her Blood Blades draw only the blood of the guilty or whatever like it does to Artemis in RH:O #45. Or the whole capturing souls thing in #35. I hate it I hate it I hate it girl please go back to fighting people with your smoke magic.

Favorite line/scene

I overall think the scene in RH:O #35 was bad but I do particularly like her lines here.

I have never wanted to lead the All-Caste... I am a soldier. Heart and soul.

Oh girl. Girl you are never escaping the legacy of your mother. Ignore the fact that Ducra is literally still alive even though we established that she died in the first issue and her ghost vanished back in RHatO v1 #27 I'm not mad.

Favorite interaction that character has with another

Her fight with Kori in RHatO v1 #22

I think using Tamaranean tech like this is very clever!! Essence is immortal, ancient, and very powerful, but alien tech was also a weakness for her back in Issue #7 and I think that's a nice touch.

Also the fact that Kori literally summoned her to try to talk and help Jason and they end up trying to kill each other for several pages is so funny to me. Like. In the next volume Essence also fights Artemis and possesses Isabel like... girl are you jealous that he's seeing other women? Is that what this is?

I think the thing with the amnesia arc where all of Jason's friends were trying to help him from different angles and with incomplete information and in the process fucked over each other's attempts forever could have been really interesting if written well.

Right before this Essence says:

We need to talk, Mother. About the great darkness that looms over all that lives. About a mistake you must at long last rectify.

It's giving the "I think we're gonna have to kill that guy" meme to me. And that was entertaining. These are the depths I need to sink to find hope.

A character that I wish that character would interact with more

ISABEL ARDILA. Genuinely fucking impressive that Lobdell managed to write them literally sharing the same body and have them not interact at all. I don't even know how he did it. He deserves an award. How does Isabel feel about this arrangement? How does Essence feel?? Like Issy you chose on purpose to pick up the sword again and keep letting Essence use your body in RH:O #49. Let's talk about that--no we're not going to? We have to move on and do Duela's arc and Red Hood: The Hill now? Oh. Oh okay. That's fine then.

Anyway I think they could turn the bodysharing into a beautiful symbiotic relationship if they tried. Essence/Isabel as a ship is slept on I swear.

Another character from another fandom that reminds me of that character

Jerboa III/Boa from Wings of Fire. Her mother (Jerboa I) was an animus (basically a dragon that can do whatever magic except raise the dead) who created her and then basically kept editing her personality and existence for like 2,000 years so she could have the ideal daughter. Obviously this is very fucked up. Eventually Boa catches onto this, betrays Jerboa I and kills her, but not before Jerboa I curses her. We don't talk about what happened to Jerboa II. (We know that she "went wrong" and Jerboa I "disposed of" her.)

Do you see the vision. Ducra implanting "pure life" in Essence's body. Banishing her when Essence railed against what Ducra wanted for her. Essence's entire life being dedicated to this fight against the Untitled. Like we are very much getting into headcanon territory with Essence when I make this connection but Boa manages to escape her mother and also the entire fucked up legacy of animus magic and I think that is lovely for her. Manifesting that for Essence.

She's also Hornet from Hollow Knight just a little bit. To me.

A headcanon about that character

She is more headcanon than actual canon substance to me at this point. Um. She has mommy issues re: Ducra. Her banishment from the All-Caste was because Essence refused to purge the "dark magic" (The essence of the Well of Sins she carried in her, the bond that tied her to the other Untitled that Ducra had long cleansed from herself.) They'd been having disagreements since the beginning of time that just happened to be what finally made it boil over. I'm still a little vague on this but I think Ducra setting up the All-Caste and the truce with the Untitled had some long term negative consequences for the world (like how in RHatO #5 the Untitled in Middleton, Colorado had the townspeople under its thrall). Essence doesn't want to spend the rest of eternity waiting for the day the Untitled inevitably decide to take over the world, but Ducra is all 'this is your duty' about it. Also remember that the Untitled are Ducra's siblings and Essence's aunts/uncles.

Anyway Jason's admittance into the All-Caste was the trigger for Essence acting out against Ducra properly for the first time. Him being this fresh new perspective so hellbent on vengeance really helped her realize that she wanted more from her life than to be another soldier in Ducra's war against her siblings.

Do you see the parallels I'm shoving in here between her and Jason. I am just saying.

An unpopular opinion about that character

Honestly I don't think anyone cares about her enough for there to be popular opinions but uhh. I think this panel is incorrect about her and Jason's relationship.

Boy and girl are always there for each other.

Are they? Are they??? God I wish they were. Goddammit.

Anyway. I think Essence building the All-Caste was actually the most boring fucking direction to take her character but I can't even be that mad because she was barely a coherent character to begin with. However, her recruiting for the All-Caste... where the fuck is she gonna get these recruits for this secret old as time warrior monk sect?? Why exist at all when all the Untitled are allegedly wiped out (i.e. the entire reason the All-Caste existed in the first place)?? Escape from the shadow of your family's legacy come onnn Essence you can do it I believe in you!!! AUGH.
