Cinnamon Roll Recipe for Easter
Creamy and flavorful, these scalloped potatoes with leeks make a delightful Easter side dish. Layers of thinly sliced potatoes and leeks are smothered in a rich cheese sauce and baked until golden and bubbly.
Ingredients: 6 medium potatoes, thinly sliced. 2 leeks, thinly sliced. 2 cups grated cheddar cheese. 3 cups milk. 4 tablespoons butter. 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour. Salt and pepper to taste. Fresh chopped parsley for garnish.
Instructions: Preheat oven to 375F 190C. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour and cook, stirring constantly, for 1-2 minutes to make a roux. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth and thickened. Season with salt and pepper. Layer half of the sliced potatoes and leeks in a greased baking dish. Pour half of the sauce over the potatoes and leeks. Sprinkle half of the grated cheese over the sauce. Repeat layers with remaining potatoes, leeks, sauce, and cheese. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.
