hi! i was wondering, as the coiner of mid labels, whether you think non-SAM mids could be something that works?
I really want to make it clear that I am very much anti policing how others chose to label themselves, and how I personally understand something shouldn't stop you from using labels as they make sense to you.
Do I think it could work? Absolutely! Do I personally understand it? Probably no. Like...yeah, sure, I personally don't understand why someone would combine non-SAM and aromid or acemid , given that both of those identities acknowledge the split attraction model. Maaaybe amid? Or maybe if they use non-SAM label in the sense of being 'just' ace or aro and not in the literal sense of 'not having to do with the split attraction model' , and thus nonsam aromid or acemid meaning just aromid or acemid, without specifiying other aspects of their attraction? Those are just my guesses - I have no idea what you or anyone else's reasons might be.
But like...it doesn't matter how I understand it. I'm not the one using those labels, and no one is forcing me to use them the same way either. I don't need to understand your reasoning either, as long as you aren't harming anyone - and using labels in a way that I and others might initially find a little confusing is, in fact, not harmful! This goes for a lot of 'contradictory' labels.
I actively encourage people to use labels as it suits them - you don't need my go ahead!
