Okay. So I’m curious, i was talking to Cypress about this. Plural folks, if you have an OCD symptom holder. Can you hear their OCD thoughts when they get closer to the front? Because that’s how people tell I (Ghost) am around. And it’s frustrating as hell
Can you hear an OCD symptom holders OCD thoughts as they get closer?
Yes! It’s ominous and very upsetting to overhear their intusive thoughts
Kinda? Bits here and there
Nope! They just experience their OCD alone in a dissociate bubble so to speak.
I’m Not plural, but I’m still curious to know
In Toby Fox’s episodic RPG Deltarune, main character Kris and their interactions with you, the player (or the “SOUL”), represent a harrowing
Surprisingly good analysis of Kris having OCD, with the potentially erratic/harmful actions the SOUL can engage with being a metaphor for the struggle to manage it.
I was curious as to how this would map onto the Weird Route, and I think it does a decent job at addressing that.
If you’re someone who struggles with OCD or intrusive thoughts, Kris’s reality may not be so far removed from your own. Just like how OCD cannot be “cured”, Kris cannot permanently remove the SOUL from their body. It is, however, a highly treatable condition that can be effectively managed via medications and/or psychotherapy methods such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
Given how the Weird Route has so many opportunities to abandon it, this idea of treating and managing symptoms lines up pretty well with an OCD reading, I think.
sometimes ocd is a bitch where it tells you youll be a bad person without having any proof like a white man on twitter
Yes, brain, let me go and look up how to spell the word "crayfish" so you won't get an anxiety attack about writing it. Sure, this isnt a bother to me at all. No, I'm not annoyed at all when i find out ive spelled it correct the first time. Of course im not. You are a very normal brain and this is something that every other person does. Do not worry. Yey!
I'm not sure that I have OCD. My therapist certainly brings it up a lot, but the symptoms that make her think that certainly kick my ass sometimes. Let me scroll up through 500+ messages to make sure I know your name even though it's cemented in my head because what if I'm wrong! And then I end up not saying it anyways. This goes for birthdays too. I never tell anybody happy birthday. What if I get it wrong even though everyone else is saying it? My brain is literally never looking out for me.
I’m so tired guys
I couldn’t do one of my biggest OCD compulsions today (It’s something that’s very personal please don’t ask me what it is)
And now i feel gross and dissociated and angry and unclean
I hate this
Batman definitely has OCD it makes so much sense.
the real reason he can't kill anyone and why he can't let Jason kill is because he thinks that if he kills someone everyone around him will die and everything will go horribly wrong and it will all be his fault. also I think he would start to realize that these symptoms might be evidence of a larger issue once Damien started to show the same symptoms.
