How did the others discover/react to Baxter’s PTSD episodes for the first time? Like what happened? Pardon my curiosity, I’m always intrigued by stuff like this.
Ooo... Not one I’ve really thought of, but lets see what I can do-
-Charlie knew from the start. When Baxter was joining the Hotel, he made his ptsd known to her, as he thought it would effect his “redemption” process.
-He’s a science man, knowing all the details is important to him, so he was perfectly fine sharing it with her.
-Vaggie learned of it when Baxter told her of his past, during an attack.
-Though I’ve said she never pressed him for information, she did ask Baxter about triggers. It’s a topic she knows alot about, and she wants to ensure Baxter will be as comfortable as possible.
-Angel got a hunch of Baxters ptsd when he asked why Baxter doesn’t live in the water if he’s a fish.
-At this point, Baxter had made his death known to the Hotel, and Angel had a small brainfart, having not connected the dots before hand.
-“Well yes I’m perfectly capable of living underwater... Like any other fish- I just don’t like it”“Why?”“Tell me how I died, Angel.”Gasp “Right”
-After that conversation, it was easy for Angel to connect that Baxter had death-related ptsd.
-Husk was never directly told. He has ptsd himself, and noticed Baxter avoiding specific things, or tensing at some topics. So he just assumed.
-His assumptions weren’t confirmed until Crymini discovered it. Along side Alastor, Niffty, and Mimzy.
-Crymini pulled pranks on Baxter often, and though she still does after this, she’s much more careful about them.
-Classic bucket of water over the door trick going horribly wrong.
-Crymini is used to Baxter yelling at each prank but... This... This was different. This was very different.
-He wasn’t yelling in anger, he was screaming in fear.
-Crymini, in her own panic ran off. She wasn’t sure what she was going to do, but running into Vaggie made things click.
-Vaggie seeing Cry’s panicked look and hearing the distant screaming of a certain traumatized fish, ran.
-Vaggie calmed him down best she could, then, obviously, scolded Crymini. All before having to explain why Baxter was just screaming bloody murder to the few confused members.
-Crymini sincerely apologized and still feels awful about it.
-Her pranks on all hotel members stopped for a while. They didn’t start up again until Baxter and other members made it known that the hotel felt off without the random “CRYMINI” echoing through the building.
-She plans them out much much more now.
-Essentially, most of the Hotel only knows the specifics of his water ptsd. Vaggie and Charlie know basics of the rest, and Husk assumes there’s more since he’s not only weird about water.
