I truly believe things are looking up from here. We still slept in the house last night. Greg is going to fix the electrical issue before it gets too hot outside but let’s be honest it’s 82 F with 74% humidity. Weather app says it feels like 89 F. It’s always hot here. Once the electrical issue is fixed we’re going to start moving the remainder of our things in. So groceries and shower things. Things keep getting trickier for us… now we’re still living in our RV (5th wheel) in our yard. Our house closes on 8/31 so our time to get out completely is near. We are still coming in to cook in a full size kitchen and shower in our full size showers but other than that we are out in the RV. Yesterday Sage was out there alone, I was still cleaning the kitchen from breakfast. She said all the lights and the AC just stopped working. Greg spent the entire day yesterday trying to figure out the issue. Now we have two types of electrical systems. We have a 120 volt which is like what your house is and a 12 volt system which is like a car/vehicle. We then have this thing called an inverter and a converter, plus batteries and a huge extension cord that we plug in to shore power. It seems the electrical short (not a fire) put the systems in a fault mode which tripped everything. The batteries weren’t getting a charge so they finally died on us. Again, I’m grateful all these things are happening now! I’m grateful it happened this week when Greg was in town. I’m grateful we still have a house where we can blow up some air mattresses and come inside cool off and sleep. There are so many moving pieces to becoming full time RVers I’m not giving up residency in my home state. We are building a condominium unit so we will have a home base to use when we are here. I am trying to see all my doctors/dentists, hair dresser, esthetician, etc before I leave. I also want to see friends and catch up. I’m going to have to miss parties and events. I’m not looking for new doctors or new friends because I’m basically just going on an extended vacation. At the same time though I’m moving out of my home but my new one isn’t ready. Whatever I’m keeping either comes with me or goes in storage. I already got rid of so much stuff and I’m getting rid of so much more still. We had a little fire in the RV. We bought some extension cords because the outlets behind the couch are not accessible unless we pull the couch out every time so Greg suggested these extension cords that have plugs and USB ports. Either they were faulty or the outlet was but the breaker kept tripping and Greg finally figured it out once he saw and smelled smoke. I wasn’t home but he said the back of the couch is singed a little 😫 BRAND NEW COUCH. But I had trouble sleeping because I was like oh my goodness what if this thing catches on fire, there is nothing to it…..how will I get to Sage she’s all the way at the back and she sleeps through EVERYTHING Have you ever experienced anything like this before? We are basically living in the RV well at least sleeping in there and Sage spends all day in there. She has her room almost completely set up and she stays out there during the day doing her school work. Sage started classes August 1 and her online program has changed AGAIN! It took some adjusting but she’s ok now…… Remember our house being live on MLS? Well we had it professionally cleaned, professionally staged. We held 2 open houses. We received an offer on the first day but they backed out before we could respond. Then we had two offers come in after the weekend. We accepted the one offering us $10k over asking. With the other as a back up. They had all the inspections done promptly, scheduled a closing date. The stager came and took her furniture, I made arrangements to sell the rest of ours. The potential buyers asked to bring their parents by we obliged, they backed out the next day. The back up had already signed on another house. Update: Sage and I spent 40 days in MD staying with family. My niece was so sweet and let us have her room and she slept on the air mattress. She said it was fun and it was summer so fun guess it was fine. Greg came out for a week and we celebrated Sage’s sweet 16 We came back to our house being live on MLS We stayed another 6 days with a friend We spent almost 50 days living out of a suitcase and we didn’t actually sleep in our own beds until last Sunday.
