Ophelia: Ophelia [ISFP]
OFFICIAL TYPING by Charity / the Mod *SPOILERS*
Functional Order: Fi-Se-Ni-Fe
Judging Functional Axis:
Introverted Feeling (Fi) / Extroverted Thinking (Te)
Ophelia instinctively knows who she is, how she feels about everything, and what she wants out of her life, and when Hamlet refuses to let go of his desire for revenge… she walks away from him. She continues to be true to herself, even when the other girls judge her for it – going for swims in the river, wandering the woods, etc., and it is this independent spirit that draws the queen’s attention to her. Ophelia refuses to become a plaything for Hamlet, and insists upon marriage before she will lie with him. She can be blunt and authoritative when pushed – asserting herself strongly and refusing to back down, but also intensely private about her personal life. When her life is threatened, Ophelia takes a rational approach to saving herself – using an idea she learned from someone else to save her life.
Perceiving Functional Axis:
Extroverted Sensing (Se) / Introverted Intuition (Ni)
She loves to immerse herself in nature, and would far more rather be having fun in the woods than stuck indoors. She notices and touches things inside the witch’s cabin in the woods, prompting the woman to share her secrets with her. Ophelia is highly observant, and misses very little in her environment – she sees the queen kissing her brother-in-law through a window, she explores the ramparts hoping not to find them there, she recognizes a cloak she glimpsed in the woods. She physically intervenes to keep another girl from rape, and threatens to douse a man with hot water if he tries a similar tactic with her. Ophelia also shows strong flits of Ni insight, such as when she figures out, with no evidence to support it, that Claudius betrayed his lover and set the villagers against them. She tests him to determine if this is true.
Hogwarts House: Gryffindor
Values: daring, nerve, and chivalry.
A tomboy at heart, Ophelia “smells of the woods.” Of dirt, and the river, and outdoorsy things, because that’s where she belongs. She is courageous in how she stages her own death, risking dying for real in the process. She has the courage to intervene and face down a group of men who are messing with a servant girl. She also walks away from the man she loves, when she sees he is a hopeless cause, and forges her own life elsewhere.
Enneagram: 4w5 sp/sx
Tritype: 459 The Contemplative [4w5 5w4 9w8]
Ophelia knows her own mind and stays true to who she is, even with outside pressures to conform. She knows how she feels about Hamlet, she knows how she feels about his choice to pursue vengeance instead of a life with her, and she lives by that truth, walking out on him and forging her own life without ever looking back. Her 5 wing and fix makes her very secretive about her true feelings and the life she leads with Hamlet. Being sp first, she resists her sx attraction to Hamlet for a time, until it feels right and safe. Her 9 manages to remain calm most of the time, even when in an intense situation. She has a compliant nature that is ambiguous in its responses (she is often vague and noncommittal) but that erupts into physical aggression and/or anger when provoked (such as when she threatens a handmaiden with physical harm, unless she tells Ophelia what has become of Hamlet).

Dumbo: Milly Farrier [INTP]
OFFICIAL TYPING by Charity / the Mod
Functional Order: Ti-Ne-Si-Fe
Judging Functional Axis:
Introverted Thinking (Ti) / Extroverted Feeling (Fe)
Milly is all about scientific experiments and gaining a complete understanding of anything that catches her interest. She is emotionally detached and remote from her father, choosing to view his abandonment through a cynical lens. She is an effective problem-solver, and figures out how Dumbo is relying on his feather to fly. Milly tells her brother that they must “test” all their theories for validity and evidence. She is very curious about advancements, and opens her own futuristic picture show at the end of the film. Milly has a very tender heart, but can seem somewhat distant and unemotional to others on a surface level. She inspires Dumbo, by reminding him that he’s part of their family and will always have those who love and support him.
Perceiving Functional Axis:
Extroverted Intuition (Ne) / Introverted Sensing (Si)
She loves everything to do with abstracts – science, innovation, technology. She quickly sees how Dumbo’s newfound skill could debut into the circus and make them famous, resulting in earning enough cash to bring his mother back to him. Milly has a whimsical mind, and is interested in the future – she dreams of a different life, but ultimately chooses to blend the two – bringing her new ideas to an old, familiar setting (the circus). She becomes excited about new ideas, but quickly falls back on testing them and learning the details.
Hogwarts House: Ravenclaw
House Traits: wit, intelligence, creativity, and wisdom.
Milly is a little braniac. She loves to learn. She loves to teach. She loves to implement. Milly spends a lot of her time reading and dreaming about her future as a great scientist. She imparts a lot of wisdom to Dumbo (and to her father) despite her young age.
Enneagram: 5w4 sp/so
Tritype: 594 The Contemplative [5w4 9w8 4w5]
Milly is somewhat detached and scientific. She keeps a wall up around her heart so she doesn’t get hurt. She insists on being logical, and thinking about / working her way through things before accepting them. She tends to be withdrawn, self-contained, and distant emotionally. Her 5 loves to read, study, and learn but finds it hard to step forward in an active role until she feels ready (her launching her own little scientific room at the circus later on). Her 4 wing and fix make her independent and fierce about remaining authentic. She doesn’t want to be like anyone else in the circus, nor has any desire to blend in. Her 9 fix is calm even in the midst of emotionally turbulent situations, and has a soft approach to Dumbo. As an sp/so, she seeks independence first, then to give back to her greater community and others.
To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before: Lara Jean Song Covey [INFP]
OFFICIAL TYPING by Charity / The Mod
Functional Order: Fi-Ne-Si-Te
Judging Functional Axis:
Introverted Feeling (Fi) / Extroverted Thinking (Te)
Lara keeps her emotions to herself, or writes them in letters to guys she never intends to read her words! She internalizes things so much, her sister has no clue Lara has a massive crush on her boyfriend! Lara likes to be different from others and maintain her own sense of aesthetic appearance – choosing clothes that represent her true self, rather than fitting in with what everyone else likes to wear, but also being sensitive to criticism. She prefers to act out her emotions, but also shows a lot of inferior Te throughout the film – establishing “dating rules,” a schedule, reasoning out that they may or may not be still “fake dating” by the time something rolls around, etc.
Perceiving Functional Axis:
Extroverted Intuition (Ne) / Introverted Sensing (Si)
She’s a dreamer more than a doer, someone who idealizes and romanticizes relationships in her mind rather than actively pursuing them, until her little sister throws her into the middle of the dating scene (so she doesn’t have to feel “guilty” for staying at home and babysitting her on Saturday nights). Lara has a sentimental streak, and clings to the past in keeping all her old letters, even after her romantic feelings for those boys have worn off. She’s’ quick to leap to conclusions, but also reluctant to try things she’s never done before – and she falls back on relying on her sister to “solve her hot tub problem,” since she knows her sister is better at it than she is. She lives in a general state of chaos, since she pays less attention to her environment than her thoughts.
Hogwarts House: Hufflepuff
House Traits: hard work, patience, loyalty, and fair play.
Another girl might leap at the chance to swoop in on her sister’s old boyfriend… but Lara Jean doesn’t… out of loyalty. She feels she has to be the big sister now, and take care of her family. She often uses cooking and housework as excuses not to leave her comfort zone. Lara is more comfortable at home.
Enneagram: 9w1 sp/sx
Tritype: 945 The Contemplative [9w1 4w5 5w6]
Lara has … taken her time with everything, and doesn’t want to leave her comfort zone. The thought of speaking to a boy and sharing her true feelings fills her with so much anxiety, she writes out her thoughts and stows them in a box in her closet, so she doesn’t have to face the discomfort of potential rejection. She becomes more and more anxious when guys start commenting on her letters and threatening her sense of peace, so she retreats first into “safe” zones (her house) and then establishes “rules” for the “fake dating.” She doesn’t like conflict nor to hurry things along. Her 1 wing makes her want to do the right thing and uncomfortable with lying to others and/or being intimate in ways that aren’t authentic. She must push through her natural desire to keep herself safe and comfortable, and her desire to form a relationship, before she can figure out and express what she truly wants.
Note: Her “fake!” boyfriend is an ISTP. Enneagram unknown. Her older sister is an STJ, her younger sister seems to be an EP. Maybe ENTP.
Why does it seem like no one's into tritypes? They're so cool!!
