"People that are born autistic will never accept transautistic" about that (im autistic)
translvl3tism ☆
. . 🔦 (trans level 3 autism) can also be called translowfunctism (trans low functioning autism)
this can be used for cisautistic people transitioning for their autism to get worse or for transautistic people as well.
Autistic people are good trans allies because they'll just straight up forget what your dead name even was.
How to do an HRT intramuscular injection, with specific instructions:
Location:
Somewhere quiet, calm, and private where you can sit down, relax, and focus. I like to have a table near me where I can easily access my materials.
Preparation:
Just washing your hands and making sure to wear boxers or shorts (if having to be bottomless isn’t your thing) should be enough.
Materials:
- 1 syringe (the plunger part of the injecting tool. This item will have measurements on the side that you can read to see how much medication you are extracting. These measurements are usually in mL in America.)
- 2 needles (one thin and shorter needle to extract the medication and one thicker and longer needle to inject into your body. I have the needle meant to extract the medication already attached to my syringe.)
- 1 alcohol sterilizing pad
- 1 gauze pad
- 1 bandaid
- (Not pictured - the medication)
- (Not pictured - the sharps container)
This is what my set-up for my materials looks like:
Finding your injection site:
You’re going to stand up with your arms down to your sides, like this:
Amazing. You’re doing great. See where your finger tips are hitting, around the outer sides of your upper thighs? Press down. If it is firm, and it is NOT squishy, this is where your injection site is. You want to feel muscle. Here’s where mine was:
Now that you have found your injection site, it is time to prepare your injection.
Preparing your injection:
Take out your medication, syringe, and two needles.
Screw the thinner and shorter needle onto the syringe if it isn’t already screwed on.
Your medication bottle will have a metal cap on it, take it off. Now, you’ll see a rubber dot. This is where you will poke your injection tool through to extract the medication. Turn your medication bottle all the way upside down so the medication goes to the bottom. Insert your injection tool.
Like this:
Perfect, now, begin to pull your plunger slowly, to extract the medication to the correct dosage. It will take a bit for the medication to flow in, you will think nothing is happening at first. When you get to the correct amount, take your needle out. Flick it to make any air bubbles rise to the top. Gently press your plunger to release any of these trapped air bubbles.
Then, switch needles. Re-cap and unscrew the thinner needle, and screw on the thicker needle. There will be some air trapped at the top from the switch. Press your plunger to release this air, and stop when you hit liquid.
Performing your injection:
Take out your alcohol pad, and swab your injection site. Unpackage your bandaid and gauze. You can leave the paper covering the sticky side of the bandaid on, to make sure it doesn’t stick to stuff.
Everyone has their own process for this, but I’m going to tell you mine. I like to stand up, hold my needle like a pen, similar to throwing a dart, and I (gently, but confidently) insert the needle at a 90° angle. You don’t want to be rough with it, but you do want to make sure you don’t hesitate when doing the insertion.) Then, I press the plunger. During this process, I do not attempt to stretch the skin around my injection site. (I found that that stretching the skin around the injection site caused pain and bruising.)
After your injection, take out the needle. Immediately put your piece of gauze on the injection site and cover it with the bandaid. Put pressure on it to stop the bleeding. (The reason I like having the bandaid and gauze out is to streamline this part of the process.)
Clean up:
Put the cap of the needle back on and unscrew it from the syringe. Chuck both items in your sharps container along with the other thin needle and its cap. Once your sharps container fills up, you’ll need to check your city or state’s laws on the disposal of sharps containers.
Congratulations! You’re taking a major step in your transition and I’m so proud of you 🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🖤🖤🖤
I was reading Changelings: An Autistic Trans Anthology when all of a sudden I got favorite author jumpscared
Autistic traits vs Trauma symptoms experienced by Autistic people.
graphic by: Trauma Geek
Trying to be taken seriously as a fem and/or afab autistic is kind of like relentlessly being told to go fuck yourself every day but then also everyone is demanding to know why you are so reserved and cold and isolated all the time? why don’t you get out more?? and if you answer honestly they will look at you with so much shock and horror like a ten year old in 2006 witnessing the true graphic extent of the pre-code internet for the first time
