Athol invites Renna over to get to know her a little better and ask some questions. Questions about things like 'dowry prices' and 'her opinions on sheep'.

Unfortunately... while Renna is, technically, bisexual, she really doesn't seem to be all that interested in boys. She's happy to swoon over Athol from afar, but the second they start talking, she just gets this look on her face and starts to stare into the middle distance...

It might be that the only young men she knows are Athol and Pond Taverner, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I started with the Kopřivovi family, a miners family

God, steam hits image quality really hard, but I closed the game before getting better ones, so meh

Waited a while for the updates to Legacy before I started dealing with this again. The only bug I experienced was in CAS, where I couldn't scroll through custom skins, though I imagine i would have run into more if I'd kept playing. The whole disappearing sims thing discouraged me from getting deep into this so I just waited. Not about to get like a week in and then find a sim missing.

Different terrain; I used @mortia's Mountain Town for this so we'll see how it goes. Chose to start over the with same lots and sims, clean hood etc etc

Added community lots I'd been considering but didn't get around to building because my game was crashing so mf much before: water foraging for the river folk, which is just a beach lot where they can collect salt water, forage tide pools and fish etc, and the mines!

Waffled a lot wrt the mining but decided if I wasn't going to have peasants harvesting reeds and weaving baskets, miners were a good substitute. The hedge witch won't be dealing with opium this time around; gonna leave that to a merchant. Coffee, tea, herbs, and opium is a lil too much for a solitary sim. I thought about honey, but i have yeomen who need it for brewing sooo that was out.

Still waffling about outcasts; can't decide if I want a brothel or a caravan, but anyway. I have the orphanage with like...I think three orphans this time around? But it'll be a minute before they grow up so, we need some class fluid adults around.

Back to my sort-of Medieval Charter Challenge, and here we have the peasant Feathers family, single father Brent and his daughter Jemima.

They're poulterers and have some chickens and ducks.

Brent's immediate thoughts turned to matrimony, as his toddler really needed a mother figure. Theodosia Day from the Almshouse showed a lot of interest in little Jemima. However it is single peasant mother Rosemary Wilde who has grabbed Brent's attention.

A sudden freak lightning bolt did nothing but cause a greater spark between them!

And so, to make an honest woman of her, and because their foraging business is very successful, Brent and Jemima moved into the Wilde household and took Rosemary's name.

Now that's one busy 2-room hovel! Next time we'll meet the peasant Farmer family.

Meet the HAMMERS!

The Hammers are the second peasant family in Riverflee. They’re miners by trade, and they wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for an unfortunate accident. When Phoebe was young, she was stolen away by fairies, and kept for a very long time. She came back with not one, not two, not three, but four changeling children-- the eldest nearly six, the youngest barely a toddler.

They came to Riverflee, like most of the other families, in search of a better life-- one where no one would be cruel to changelings.
