Honestly I think the best way to tell the difference between someone who is fundamentally a leftist vs someone who is fundamentally pro capitalism, is how ok they are with people who don't work.

There is no way to create a society where people are rewarded for work and punished for not working without creating a society where a large working class has their labor exploited and devalued by a small ruling class. The entire basis of capitalism, as well as its ideological underpinnings in protestantism, is the idea that those who do not work hard are fundamentally immoral. If someone thinks people should suffer for not working, they might want better conditions under capitalism, but they still want capitalism.

Also note that whether or not someone accepts people who don't work is also a pretty good measure of whether they support the rights of disabled people. This is because eugenics and capitalism are siblings.

As someone who has known several ex-Muslim/Muslim queer people I have to agree with this. Like, in most SWANA countries this is the state approved, and often state mandated style of dress. For a lot of people from culturally Muslim households they wear this type of thing to avoid abuse. And this isn't even getting into what it's like for trans and enby people from those backgrounds.

Like, it's fine when people from those cultural backgrounds reclaim it, but it's weird and fetishy when it's white liberals promoting it with so little sense as to how it comes off to people in those cultures.

They were literally removing queer rights in ancient Rome and indigenous American communities when they converted to Christianity. Christianity being anti queer is as old as the religion's first written records.
