- brian is dyslexic and was discouraged from writing as a kid but he wrote his own stuff in notebooks despite his teachers saying he was bad at it because he couldnt read and write ‘properly’

- they wrote the song ‘handcuffs’ about the recent news of police brutality

- the song ‘hooped earrings’ is about brian helping his friend come out to her mother

- they work with the 1in6 charity who raise awareness about the sexual abuse of young boys

- tom and ciaran are both classically trained musicians and ciaran can probably play like a million different instruments from what ive seen

- the band have defied gender roles quite a bit, wearing dresses and skirts on stage (not as a joke)

- they go out of their way to talk to fans. brian often goes to meet fans, not even the other way around. they once randomly took a few people bowling at the asbury lanes and still met with other fans

- ‘looking like you just woke up’ is about a same-sex romance, brian had a friend who fell in love with the boyfriend of the girl he liked before. brian said ‘the vibe of this song comes from that situation’

- mat is self-taught and has been in tfb since before he even left highschool, the band once played during his prom and he had to miss a show

- the band have a soft spot for the song ‘bathtub’, they have said its probably their most underrated song
