Happiness Will Come To You.
when tho
When You Least Expect It. Probably Late March
reblog for happiness to come for you in late march!
I reblogged this last year and I hung out with blink-182 backstage on March 30. Reblogging again because it worked the first time.
honestly, last year one of the best days of my life happened in late March
“Nobody wants to work” yet im over here filling out 3945867483293064359469 applications on 500 different job hunting sites, each application demanding i take a 30 minute-test to PROVE that me and my paltry resume are worth a multi-million company giving me 16 whole dollars an hour. Nobody wants to work yet 97 of the 100 applications you fill out just ghost you (because when a Boss does it, that’s just how it is. But if you ghost? Unprofessional.) or give you some pointless runaround for 3 weeks until telling you you’re not a good fit because you only have 3 years of dick-sucking experience and they want 5. Nobody wants to work? Nobody wants to invest in employees. Nobody wants to hire, nobody wants to train, nobody wants to teach anyone new skills. Nobody wants to accept that YES, some people DO work to collect a paycheck and thats FINE, not all of us are born with a passion to be a Starbucks Manager. We’re all passionate about living and supporting ourselves and I wish bosses would stop being so lazy and rude and give my friends jobs for $20000 an hour

posts that make you want to send this where the cover letter should go
top ten posts i physically restrain myself from reposting on linkedin
sorry i spent 4hrs applying for jobs today im Feeling it man.
End description.]
I have a job that I’m convinced I’m gonna have for a while.
I kinda want to start applying for jobs I don’t intend on getting so I can put this in the cover letter.
Graduated college in May 2020.
Absolutely no places were accepting applications because, well….
I didn’t get a job until April 2022. A week shy of my college graduation.
Jobs didn’t even start opening up applications until late spring 2021.
In that time I had sent out 200+ applications.
Out of those 200+ applications I had received:
- Several ghosted applications
- Several online assessments completed, all of which were from companies I never heard from again
- 3-5 spam texts saying they were from jobs, but all of them were sketchy as hell/no mention of business name
- 10-20 emails saying that they had received my application but decided not to go forward with me.
- 4 interviews
Out of those four interviews, only 3 got back to me saying that they’d gone with someone else. That one job told me they really needed this position filled and that I’d know by Friday. It’s been nearly a year and I never got a response from them.
The other three jobs I applied to went to people who were already worked within the organization I was applying to.
I ended up getting employed the same day that my last job interview ghosted me.
They want experience. But they don’t want to pay for it. They want experience. But they also don’t want to be intimidated by your experience. They want you to follow up. But also following up is seen as desperate. They want you to play to your strengths. But they also hate that.
Trying to find a job is like playing a game.
Except you don’t have the rules to the game. The hiring managers do. And they all have a different version of the game. And those rules can be changed on a whim. And those rules vary company to company.
Hell, they can give you the runaround. They can have you take all these assessments and other bullshit….. and they’ll be like, “Sorry. We hired from within. Lmao sucks to be you. Maybe you should’ve tried getting hired here ten years ago? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ”
Nobody wants to train and nobody wants to pay people for their experience.
Well met, traveller! Tell me, what is it that you need most?
A little change of scenery.
A glimpse into the future.
Knowledge from the universe.
Inner peace. Possibly a nap.
A home-cooked meal.
Something to pass the time.
A grand adventure to a far-off place.
Ah, I see. Thank you for your honesty. Please, take as much as you need. There will be enough for everyone.
A change of scenery. Simple, but marvelous.
A glimpse into your future, for you brave souls! (Divination is tricky business, tread carefully my dear!)
Knowledge from the universe, eh? Perhaps this will be of interest to you.
Rest for the weary, right this way. It's a personal favourite of mine.
A home-cooked meal you say? I like how you think! A labour of love worth savoring (and sharing with friends!)
For something to pass the time, try looking here, or if that doesn't hit the spot, here.
Seeking adventure to a far-off place? I know a way to get you there.
✨
I hope you found what you were looking for!
Okay, not to be overdramatic but this is one of those things that makes me feel so in awe and in love with people. OP spent their time making this?? And it's delightful?? And full of compassion and curiosity about strangers on a hellsite. Take what you need, take a breath, enjoy this shared moment of human experience. I did. 💜
Observation: When leveling criticism against JK Rowling, everyone (correctly) points out the transphobia and antisemitism. But I've noticed that the discourse is curiously silent about racism, cultural appropriation, etc. I will never be done being fucking mad about Ilvermorny.
This could save your life.
BOOST.
Absolutely vital information to have if you live where the waters freeze over.
I especially appreciate this guy's commitment to actually showing the steps himself. That cold-shock response is a bitch and willingly subjecting himself to it couldn't have been fun.
I don’t live anywhere near water like this, but I am still memorizing this knowledge because:
* I might use it in a story someday.
* Any knowledge that staves off the dying is good knowledge.
Some kids passed away today in my region from falling in icy water, so thought it was important to boost.
You’re bi if you think you’re bi. There’s no quota that needs to be met, no set amount of crushes that you need to have to be able to qualify as a “real” bisexual. You’re bi if you think you’re bi and if you keep doubting yourself that’s probably because you are, in fact, bisexual.
So you live in a traditionally warm climate and suddenly have to deal with an unprecedented cold snap.
How to survive the cold with limited power, insulation and heating options.
(Most of these require a bit of planning ahead and having supplies on hand in preparation for an emergency, but they will keep you warm, and more importantly, do so safely.)
Tea light candles and terra cotta gardening pots: you do need to use genuine terra cotta for this, but lighting a candle beneath an overturned terra cotta pot - one of the ones with drainage holes in the bottom so the candle doesn’t sputter - will act as a no power space heater for small rooms. Just make sure they’re only lit while you’re awake. - Now that this is no longer blazed, I can edit this. This has been debunked! Instead, may I recommend dressing in several layers of clothing and investing in battery powered space heaters! Like any flame, you don't want to leave these running without supervision, but while monitored, they will allow you to warm a room to a sustainable level, and a room that's already warm is easier to keep warm.
Block door gaps with towels: roll up bath towels and wedge them under the doors of any warm rooms you have; it will prevent cold air getting in underneath them. You will want to stay in the same room as long as possible anyway, as body heat will contribute to a room remaining warm. Along those lines…
Tape bubble wrap to drafty windows: it works about as well as industrial insulation film, and if you’re careful taking it back down again, can be rolled up and reused. This will prevent some heat loss at night, and as it isn’t blocking light out, will help sun-warm the house during daylight if it isn’t too cloudy. (There are commercial insulation options as well! But in the event that you cannot get it, or if you already have bubble wrap onhand, it is a very good insulator. Please see this link for instructions.)
Sleep with other warm bodies: share a bed with housemates, invite over friends or family, pets - anything warm blooded will contribute to warmth and you’ll all be safer for it. Bundle up and huddle together until your power comes back on! (I have never owned cold-blooded pets, and cannot make recommendations for those.)
Set up a camping tent around your mattress: this is another one that requires advance planning, but a zipped up tent will make for an enclosed space that is far easier to make warm and keep warm, and if your mattress and betting are put inside it, will be the safest and most comfortable way to sleep.
If you have advance warning of a cold snap, leave your faucets dripping with cold water on purpose: this will prevent the water in your house’s pipes from freezing. Frozen water will burst a water pipe, leading to a lot of unnecessary water damage.
Try to have a pantry of shelf-stable food and access to at least one method of cooking it that doesn’t rely on electricity, like a gas powered camping hot plate, if you can afford them. If all else fails, you can likely heat food over open candle flame, but it might be better to eat tinned tuna or cereal or what have you in that case.
And then of course, the usual power outage preparedness applies: flashlights and batteries, at least one battery powered radio, and make sure your car’s gas tank is full if for no other reason than using it as a power source; even if roads aren’t clear you can turn it on and huddle inside.
For those of you without homes: if you have the money for it, consider getting a cheap gym membership so you have access to indoor spaces even late at night, some are open 24 hours, and look into YMCA or soup kitchens or shelters way in advance. You’re going to know your resources better than I am, but the cold is no joke. Good luck and I love you.
This makes so much more sense than "they canceled your favorite show because you weren't posting hard enough"
I just love when a fanfic is so very soft that I have to stop reading every three rows and walk around my room for a bit with a hand on my heart while whispering "oh my god they glanced at eachother", because I get too overwhelmed with love and sweetness.

I can’t get over this edit lmaooooo
I made this in reference to comic/game stuff but I’m glad to see this one’s going over well with all the writers
