Hey guys, what if we start referring to Disney movies by their creators instead of the company that produces them (and animated movies in general)?

The original Lilo and Stitch is a Chris Sanders film distributed by the Disney company. Chris Sanders was the producer, writer, original story creator, artist, director, and actor lead for Lilo and Stitch, providing the voice for Experiment 626. It is all this man’s idea and passion that the Disney company only provided the resources and manpower to create (which we should also give credit to the multitude of artists who worked on that project as well, including Dean DeBlois who worked as an additional writer and director)

Here is a video by Chris describing the start of his idea for the movie and Stitch’s original design.

So yeah, I’ll be referring to the original movie as Chris Sander’s Lilo and Stitch from now on, to distinguish it from “Disney’s” or more accurately, Dean Fleischer Camp’s recreation of the original film.

Let’s stop large corporations from erasing the faces of the people who create these animated films. Go support the artists!

Research has shown that pleasure affects nutrient absorption. In a 1970s study of Swedish and Thai women, it was found that when the Thai women were eating their own (preferred) cuisine, they absorbed about 50% more iron from the meal than they did from eating the unfamiliar Swedish food. And the same was true in the reverse for the Swedish women. When both groups were split internally and one group given a paste made from the exact same meal and the other was given the meal itself, those eating the paste absorbed 70% less iron than those eating the food in its normal state.

Pleasure affects our metabolic pathways; it’s a facet of the complex gut-brain connection. If you’re eating foods you don’t like because you think it’s healthy, it’s not actually doing your body much good (it’s also unsustainable, we’re pleasure-seeking creatures). Eat food you enjoy, it’s a win-win.

I’ll never forget I once had to break the news to two women that their dog had cancer, and as they cried and hugged and asked me questions I said something about how I was grateful this pup had such a loving family to support her- only for these ladies to inform me one of them wasn’t actually an owner at all, she was just the other woman’s Uber driver…

So this driver tells me she’s literally never met the other lady in her life, but when this passenger started crying in the car with her dog because she was worried, this angel in the form of an Uber driver went off the clock, came inside the building, and waited over an hour in a busy emergency room with a complete stranger just so she would have someone there by her side in a scary situation. This woman even took notes about everything I said so the owner wouldn’t have to try and remember it all later.

I see plenty of stuff at my job that makes me tempted to lose my faith in humanity but all I do is remember that Uber driver and it comes roaring back to me just like that. Humans are so unbelievably good, man.
