By far, the most successful recipes which came out just perfect in the very first attempt.❤️ I’m fallingggg for these😍😍 Do give it a try-you’ll surely forget all those fancy brands🙈 🌼On the menu-Sattu Sesame cookies 🥣Ingredients •100 grams white butter •100 grams Jaggery •200 grams sattu flour •1/2 tsp baking soda •1 pinch salt •2 tbsp milk •1 tbsp sesame seeds •1/4 tsp Vanilla essence 🥣Method of Preparation Transfer 100 grams white butter and Jaggery in a bowl. Mix it well, until it achieves a fluffy texture. Next, add vanilla essence, sattu flour, baking soda and salt in the butter and Jaggery batter. Mix them well. Then, add 2 tbsp milk and Knead it into a dough. Allow it to rest for 10-15 minutes. 🕘 Meanwhile, layer up your wok with regular salt and allow it to pre-heat for about 10 minutes on medium flame. Lastly, add 1 tbsp of sesame seeds in the dough and knead it for another 2-3 minutes. Shape them into cookies, grease your plate with oil and put them in the wok for 15-20 minutes on medium high flame. PCOS or polycystic ovarian syndrome is an endocrine disorder(hormonal condition) that develops in women of child-bearing age. The exact causes are unknown but it can be attributed to the dis-aligned lifestyle women leads these days along with several environmental and genetical factors. ✳️ This condition is basically characterized by de-arranged figures of certain hormones that regulates menstrual cycle. 🌀 For menstrual cycle to be regular there needs to be a well established communication between your brain and ovaries. 🔓 When this communication is not happening or gets disturbed, your ovaries will not receive signals to produce hormones and hence, you will possibly not ovulate. 🔕 Since, you cannot really track your ovulation when you have PCOS it might become difficult for you to get pregnant hence, women with PCOS face difficulties conceiving. 👼🏻 Since, the hormones go haywire, women tend to experience symptoms like irregular periods (due to dominance of androgens-male hormones), heavy bleeding (following months of not Ovulating), excess facial and body hair (hirsutism), male-patterned baldness/hair thinning, altered skin tone (darker patches in body creases) and weight gain (with excess fat accumulation on the belly region/waistline-which could be due to altered insulin levels in the body). 👾 Phew! That’s a longgggg list. To add on, obesity & insulin-resistance (altered levels of insulin as body is not able to utilize glucose efficiently) can make PCOS even worse.🤯 So, this was a short insight of what a women with PCOS has to deal with. Reading food labels is an art, that can help us make informed decisions when buying anything packed or processed. 🛒🥡 One of the most important columns in the food label includes Ingredient List. 📜 The ingredients listed are mentioned in a certain way that the ones added in highest quantities will come first and the ones added in lesser quantities will make up to the end of the list. ✔️ So, if an oats biscuit pack has refined flour listed as the first few ingredients, you know what the product majorly comprise of, it’s not oats but refined flour. 🤫 Also, make sure to chose a product that has shorter ingredient list, as the ones with longer ones can be assumed to be highly processed that can negatively impact our health in the long run. 🌟 So, just focus on the first 2-3 ingredients mentioned in the ingredient list column to get an idea how healthy or highly processed any product is.✅❌ Not just this, those colorful claims in large font size in front of the pack might not fail to grab your attention. You can find them in words like ‘gluten-free’, ‘multigrain’, ‘sugar-free’, ‘cholesterol-free’, or ‘zero trans fats’. 🤯 But, we should be clever enough to understand that those claims are often misleading. But, with times- the pride seems to be taken over by a new kin in the family- yogurt.🌼 Interestingly, the only difference people can make out of the two terms is that one is desi and another one is just another fancy term for Dahi. 💎 But, ideally they both are different. In terms of the nutrient content, both curd and yogurt almost share a similar nutrient profile. As both are equipped with calcium, protein, magnesium, potassium with yogurt having a higher concentration of Vitamin B6 & Vitamin B12. Coming down to the preparation method, curd forms up by a process known as curdling of milk. The entire game is of temperature here. Curd contains Lactobaccilus bacteria which multiples at a certain temperature (the reason why milk is heated and then cooled while making curd).🍶 Whereas, yogurt is made using 2 different strains of bacteria namely Lactobaccilus bulgaricus & streptococcus thermophilus. 🧩 Since, curd is made at home, the quality may differ and ultimately varying the benefits it yields to the gut bacteria.
