i dontr think fugo would ever actually be THAT pissed off if nara got a math question wrong. Like, if he was legitimately confused and got it wrong because of that, I really don’t think fugo would immediately get mad at him…

now you might go “WELL what about the time fugo stabbed nara in the face with a fork when he did!” and to that i say: nara CLEARLY was just messing with him. He wanted to go outside and he couldn’t until he got his singular math problem done. Nara knows VERY WELL that that’s not how the problem works. He’s not an idiot, he has common sense. He knew what 6x5 was and there’s no way he’d genuinely think multiplying bigger numbers was somehow less than 30. We can clearly see that he was just doodling on the sides of the page, and when he did show it to fugo he was like “hehehe…… did i get it right :]” (and in the manga there’s even a mischievous little ♥️) all knowing and stuff. He was messing with him. AND FUGO KNEW IT. Hence why he got all mad and asked if he was being messed with Because he was.

Fugo HATES being mocked and being made fun of, hence why he lashed out. It was NOT just because nara got a math question wrong. However I’ve noticed that for some reason people Always take it that way and portray Fugo as someone who WOULD attack someone over just getting a question wrong ?

Jolyne Cujoh is quite a fascinating case when it comes to misogyny in action media, you know? Because they won't admit they hate women, they just don't care about women and will invent reasons for each case post hoc. And this is pretty easy to do, since most of the female characters they end up interacting with are written by more of these dudes. But Jolyne is just devoid of the usual targets, she's a boilerplate determined badass shounen protag who's a woman, and crucially her background sidesteps the whole... paradox of presentation. The action girl tends to go one of two ways, you can be a femme fatale who can do it Just As Well As The Boys, which men hate, or you can be a little masc, which men hate even more. But the characters in Stone Ocean don't need to sacrifice or enshrine their femininity in order to be the Cool Guy, because in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure the cool guy has been wearing lipstick and dressing for a gay bar for like a decade by the time the main character was a girl. The way they present is neither conspicuous to normative gender roles or to the paradigm of their media, so that fails to become a target. Stone Ocean kind of falls to the wayside in discussion because nobody can explain why they don't quite resonate with it as much, even though they all fuckin' know.
