Explanation for those who are new:

3 Buck Stan is an AU in which Stanley Pines is yoinked up by our favorite resident AXOLOTL and is enlisted to preform a variety of intergalactic tasks. Meanwhile, Stanford Pines is having an aneurism over his lost brother and will end up making some unsavory deals with a certain triangular individual… Have I mentioned that they are both young children in this? Imagine it as “Pines twins and Bill getting therapy speedrun” because AXOLOTL decided to intervene earlier on. Chaos ensues.

The idea is simple-

Grace is old and neither are really ready to say the eternal goodbye- Then they have a great idea. Hey! Let’s just… Toss out brainwaves back in time!

(Don’t ask how it’s possible uh- Science wiggly fingers-)

And!- This way we can ALSO prevent a bunch of deaths and everything could go so much smoother! Yeah, great idea let’s do it! We can petition it that way so they don’t think we’re purposely doing this so we can have another few years of bro-time…

What could go wrong…

Anyways, so in the process of sending their minds back in time they end up swapping bodies at the same time. Whoops. Rocky is not having a good time and Grace isn’t either. Everyone thinks they have gone crazy. Somehow they have to make things work while ALSO maneuvering unfamiliar bodies and senses.

I thought it was funny.

Hello its me again, just had a funny/introspective idea I wanted to share on the topic of Stan as a published author.

'The Adventures of Lil Stanley: An Autobiography' are very successful and Stan's won a few awards for it before, but no one believes him when he says that everything in there is real. (Being fair, sometimes he leaves out some stuff that's too 'adult', or exaggerates things for drama, but for the most part it's very accurate to real events). Even when Ford publishes his research and Cryptozoology becomes a more recognized, if not respected, field of study worldwide (there are still a lot of people who refuse to believe it or just straight up view it as 'fake science' (don't even get me started on the arguments for 'soft sciences vs hard science')) people Still don't believe Stan. His twin brother has Mothman onstage giving a presentation on Why We Should Build a Giant Light Bulb For Reasons, but a giant omniscient godlike Axolotl living outside the boundaries of time and space? Sounds fake to me!

Stan thinks it's hilarious. It drives him crazy sometimes but it's also hilarious. (Ford does not think it's funny, just annoying. Coincidentally Stan makes sure to laugh about it mostly around Ford). But after the Summer of 2012 when his own grand-niblings don't believe him, Stan decides to write an Actual Real to Real People Autobiography.

'The Tale of Big Stanley: A Totally Real and Truthful Retelling' is basically the entire comic series but without the supernatural stuff. It kind of takes Stan forever to write because he's literally scrubbing his entire life and having to figure out what counts as a 'normal enough life for people'. Keeps having to go back and rewrite passages and entire chapters that sound off or too fantastical because "I've been wandering around the multiverse and fighting cryptids since I was 10, nothing about my life is relatable to the average joe" Instead of a kid going on crazy adventures and learning valuable life lessons as he goes, it's a kid who was always looked over and brushed off. A kid that really only ever had his twin brother to look out for him. A kid that got sold away by father for one bad test and a lifetime of just trying to prove his worth and help out. It's all the pain and suffering and misery of his childhood without all the magic and joyful chaos that The Axolotl brought into it. It's all the parental neglect and abuse without bright colours and quippy one liners. It's a kid having all his safety and innocence ripped away all at once without any way to get it back. A kid that had to learn to solve their own problems and come up with all the answers to life's hard questions on his own. A kid that in spite of everything, or maybe even BECAUSE of everything, not only succeeds but flourishes. A kid that grows up to be happy and safe and healthy, always with his brother by his side. A kid that gets the last laugh knowing that his Pa got scammed because "Stan's worth WAY more than 3 measly bucks".

By the time he's finished Stan kind of hates it because he thinks it's too depressing and surreal but everyone encourages him to publish it still, so he does. And it's an immediate hit. The novel is compelling and heart wrenching and insightful and heart warming all at once. People are debating the themes and messages. They're psychoanalyzing everyone in it. A few schools are already adding it to the curriculum to study for classes. Stan wins 2 Pulitzers for it.

This kinda got away from me and it was sadder than I intended but I just thought it'd be funny if Stan writes an autobiographical comic for years that everyone thinks is fiction, only to write a (mostly) fiction autobiography and everyone immediately loves it Lol.

You’re a genius.

And yesssss the whole idea of the story is Stan realizing his worth and being put in a less… Magical setting, the whole concept is plain devastating. I think it’s funny in this scenario that it’s the reverse fictional autobiographical thing going on. (Lottie is definitely super proud of Stan by the way, and meanwhile Fords also proud but also kinda fuming of course)

I LOVE your 3 buck Stan au SO MUCH. I keep thinking of how much it would change the future of their world and I go Feral.

Stan and Ford never grow apart and Stan is doing WAY better in school. By the time the science fair rolls around Stan isn't too thrilled about the idea of college but he and Ford have actually already been living their dreams of going on adventures and treasure hunting (more or less on the sea) so he's not that broken up about his brother wanting to attend WCT. Maybe the perpetual motion machine is still broken, maybe it's not but Filbrick can't kick Stan out because 1) Ford can and will go with him, 2) They've been ready/preparing to live independently for Years.

If Ford goes to WCT I think it'd be cool if Stan went to Backupsmore and rooms with Fiddleford. He gets a PhD in engineering (mechanical, industrial and chemical) and Masters in fine art. He honestly learns more about engineering from Fidds than he does his classes (mainly about how to build giant evil robots in less than 3hrs. The Stanley Mobile is half tank/half spy super car). He starts publishing his 'Lil Stanley' comic right of college.

(I imagine them as a Captain Underpants style graphic novel with a lot of Chronicles of Narnia elements for ages 9-12+. They're very popular but also get banned a few times for "promoting bad behavior" and "having occult themes and pagan messages". Stan thinks it's hilarious because no one believes him when he says it's autobiographical).

Either way, Stan and Ford still move to Gravity Falls, not just to investigate anomalies, but also because it's the best place to build a proper interdimensional portal. They go on expeditions across the sea and multiverse all the time and establish the Institute of Oddology and Stan keeps publishing his comic throughout it all. By the time Mabel and Dipper come to visit, both Grunkles are world famous in their own ways and the twins are huge fans.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Sorry this is so long but I've been thinking a lot about this au. I mean, better world? Try BEST WORLD!

Silly lil Project Hail Mary AU:

—In which Grace is an abnormally smart child and Rocky is trying his best—

Everything is pretty much the same except Grace is de-aged from the get go. So actually- Everything is not the same at all. Just a shameless excuse to have Rocky be the rational adult of the duo. (They already were but don’t tell Grace that-)

A lot more angst potential here cuz even Ryland remembering is like looking at himself through a funhouse mirror. Haha.

Anyways. I love them and I have a couple plans to do with this au in particular- Seeing that I don’t have every little detail quite yet. I guess I’m a sucker for found family. I love their dynamic sm and as always, I love to make my favorite characters suffer emotionally.

Also- Forgive my handwriting but I can’t be bothered to rewrite everything again for legibility. Use context clues I guess? Be a rudimentary linguist like Grace had to be in the movie idk. (I’m just kidding.)

A sad lil Waterboy as a child

Had a thought floating around and figured with the way his powers worked-

(Being so connected to his nerves and emotions-)

Little Hermy probably had a lot of big cries and all the adults around him didn’t quite know how to manage properly.

So- I imagine for when his feelings got too big, he had a bucket tucked in the corner of the counselors office just for him, where he can be sad without causing more water damage to the school than usual. But- Herm is a tall guy and I figure he was also a pretty gangly kid- So, usually it’s kind of a mortifying and pitiful experience- Imagine standing in an all too small bucket that has had your name on it since kindergarten, while bawling your eyes out.

Just a thought.

Also I realized very belatedly that I can take pictures of my traditional doodles on paper and then in Ibis Paint I can color them using the color burn option which is pretty swell if you ask me.

last song: "mecha man" from the dispatch soundtrack, lol. the soundtrack is all i've been listening to for DAYS, it gets me through my 3 hour scenic painting class. video game soundtracks hype me up! they're good for long classes and long shifts.

favorite color: arghhh this is honestly a hard one. i really like purple and black a lot, but i've been warming up to pink and yellow a lot more lately.

currently watching: dan and phil! i don't watch a lotta tv or movies so it's mostly just been youtube for me, lol. i'm getting back into my yearly dan and phil phase, especially with their podcast 'hard launch', and have been watching a lot of their older horror games content. if you haven't watched dan and phil before, i highly recommend, they're very funny and i love their stuff.

in addition to dan and phil, i recently saw 'the count of monte cristo' (2024) at my university's international film night and it was FIRE. it was in french with subtitles and was three hours long. PHENOMENAL movie. i highly recommend that too, its soundtrack and cinematography is beautiful. at the end i understood why it got an 11 minute standing ovation at the cannes film festival lol. it's the peak of cinema.

currently reading: admittedly it's just been watermech fanfiction? and if it's not watermech, it's flambert or general dispatch fanfic stuff lol. i like reading other ships too, it's mainly just watermech with flambert at a close second. (if you have any recommendations of fics centering other ships, lemme know! i need to know what i'm missing out on!)

current obsession: lmao dispatch obviously, then also dan and phil. i've been playing mario and luigi superstar saga and earthbound recently as well, so those are pretty up there at the moment too. (edit: also miitopia and tomodachi life. how could i forget those????)

currently working on: finals are coming up, ugh. i can only hope i survive the last two weeks haha. i also have an internship i've secured recently, just sorting out the last few details before i start next month. REALLY excited for that.

last google search: iirc it was a guide for mario and luigi superstar saga? a boss or puzzle was kicking my ass and i needed help lol. so i found a guide and that's saved me the headache of figuring it out on my own over like two hours haha

Currently Watching: Rise of the Guardians- My house is surviving off mobile data rn and have been busting out the movie disc player for my little siblings. So that’s been on in the background. Also- How are we feeling about the latest digital circus episode because I feel like that counts too.

Currently reading: Ngl, I’ve been reading a good amount of old vigilante mha fics for inspiration as well as copious amounts of dispatch fanfic as well. (Usually any that include Waterboy as either main character or one OF the main characters, I am NOT picky. Either that, or ones with Robert going through it because angst and found family is important to ME-)

Current obsession: Definitely still Dispatch- It’s driving me mad because I want to write all the stupid scenarios floating around in my head but my art block is being evil- But mostly Dispatch is on the brain. Dunno if it counts though but I’ve been also playing the new Tomodachi life demo on repeat because I’m super hyped for that.

How I think Z team/dispatch characters would react to a 🕷️spider🕷️in the breakroom:

Robert: Ignores it at first (It’s whatever-) But then starts panicking a little when Beef starts messing around with it and trying to eat it.

Invisigal: Freaks out a little- Before throwing something heavy ISH at it. (Possibly a shoe- Possibly something of Robert’s.)

Flambae: Absolutely terrified, but in denial, especially when Robert starts to tease him about it. (Big strong Flambae scared of a itty bitty spider?) He will winge and whine until SOMEBODY takes care of it because he is NOT touching that creepy crawly shit.

Waterboy: Will either grab a cup or just fill on grab the spider and take it outside. He also spouts cool spider facts the whole time. (Bonus points if Flambae is there and does NOT want to hear about it-)

Coupe: Startles only for a second but allows the spider to exist. If it becomes an issue however- She does not hesitate to chuck a dagger.

Punchup: Also an arachnophobe- Not a fan of the creepy crawly legs and the pincers. May panic and attempt to kill the spider by punching… For some reason, it doesn’t work.

Prism: Thinks spiders are cool but isn’t a fan of them crawling on her without her explicit consent. She has no issue picking up the spider in her own terms and taking it away. (Bonus points if she is genuinely interested to hear Waterboys fun facts.)

Sonar: He eats it.

Malevola: Names it and lets it loiter. (Threatens Sonar if he tries to eat it.)

Royd: Not a big fan- But lets it exist. It’s all chill.

Phenomaman: Admires the spider from afar and doesn’t mind when it attempts to bite him. He likes how resilient such a fragile seeming thing is. (He would never kill something so vulnerable. He appreciates Waterboys fun facts and will later invest time into researching more about spiders.)

Golem: Spider? What spider? (Either he can’t see it or it hides within his clay body. He has no clue it’s there.)

Chase: Will start cursing up a storm he does NOT like Spiders and Robert has always thought his over the top reactions where hilarious as a kid. (When he was younger, Chase would quite literally run across the room just cause a spider startled him.) He will continue to freak out until it gets killed. He will try siking Beef onto the spider- Will only panic more when Beef begins to play with it instead.

Blazer: Terrified. She refuses to even go near the spider- Preferring to have someone else deal with it. Quickly preferably, she doesn’t care how.
