your twenties are Also about discovering that youāre not a bad person in all the ways you believed you were but youāre a bad person in completely new and exciting ways
BTW, just to make sure everyone knows, this isn't just some internet rando commenting on her observations on the internet.
They are an Assistant Professor of Media Industries at New York University and literally just finished writing The Apple II Age: How the Computer Became Personal, a book on the history of the computer industry in the 70s.
This tweet isn't just an observation, it's the result of years of research and study. And it's absolutely true.
me and the girlies discussing motifs and themes
OMG everyone I know the ACTUAL story behind the gif this time! Yes, itās in Australiaā thatās a big angry goanna that wandered into a popular restaurant. All the Australians in the vicinity went OH FUCK NO and cleared off, because goannas are mean. The waitress you see there is a French exchange student, who was quoted as saying something to the effect of āI thought it was a weird ugly dogā and had no idea it was a reptile that wanted to rip her arms off. Sheās been hailed as a hero who saved diners.
Itās amazing what power ānot knowingā has.
The thing I especially love about this is this is a pretty dangerous animal, except she managed to defeat it by just fucking grabbing it by the tail and walking too quickly for it to turn around. Once again the animal kingdom is thwarted because we evolved opposable thumbs, long limbs, and reckless bravery.
weird, ugly dog thwarted by foreign exchange student and polished floorsĀ
my take-home lesson here is that nobody in france has ever first-hand seen a dog
no no, french dogs just be like that
I wish I took a better pic of this writing in a bar bathroom in toronto bc I think of it so often. Be So Completely Yourself That No One Is Attracted To You Or Wants To Employ You
Analyzing the politics of a work that's meant to be apolitical is actually a really interesting exercise because it asks you to critically examine what the creator considers to be "political" in the first place. Which ideas are just How Things Are, and which ones are Political, and how is that influenced by the creator's beliefs?
Usually this just ends up with you looking like a moron btw
Angrily lashing out at the suggestion that it's possible to do basic media analysis was foundational to the ragebait ecosystem of the 2010s, from which we got basically the entire culture of modern far right politics, btw.
I genuinely believe myself and others are being so sincere and literal when we say TOUCH GRASS
I went outside and got an education, that's where I learned that you can obtain knowledge and insight through analytical methods, then noticed that some people who sit on the internet yelling at strangers get really mad about that constantly.
Donāt make me point to the Omar Sakar poem
today I found out my mother doesnāt know what dandelions are and now Iām wondering what other strange secrets sheās been quietly harboring
Where do you live that you donāt have dandelions?
we have dandelions EVERYWHERE, they are basically our State Weed, it is absolutely impossible that my mom has never interacted with a dandelion before, this requires further investigation
So after extensive interrogation I have an update:
my mom is in fact aware that dandelions exist. she temporarily forgot the name and there was some miscommunication.
the truth is actually weirder
sheās aware dandelions look like this
she is familiar with this flower. she knows the name of this flower. she declines to believe, however, that these are also dandelions
she does not believe these are the same plant. I tried to explain, and she thought I was either misinformed or lying. so I asked her what exactly did she think the yellow ones were called?
she answered, with complete confidence: Daffodils.
gosh I enjoy this website
For comparison, this is a daffodil
See, folks in the southern US will tell you up and down those are buttercups, actually.
i donāt think so? iām southern and buttercups are what we call these things (much tinier)
Wait I thought those bigger cup ones were Easter Lillies???
This is an Easter Lily. It is an actual lily and therefore deadly to cats.
Theyāre marigolds and I know a bitch when I see one!
This is a marigold:
ā¦.we need to start taking the phrase āgo touch grassā more literally. go outside and examine a flower i beg u
at least can all we agree that the original gay flag with the magic and sex colours is BEAUTIFUL and it should make a comeback
whatās more iconic than this
What about the final version of the flag by the original creator?
Gilbert Baker added a 9th stripe shortly before his death, with the new stripe representing diversity. He added this stripe in reaction to the 2016 US election. Itās unfortunately not as well known as the 8 and 6 striped versions.
Hereās an image of him sewing together the 9 striped rainbow flag.
Happy pride month everyone
My local area just had its first-ever Pride festival, and while I was there an elderly lesbian couple approached me. They told me theyād been together for 50 years and they were so happy to have lived long enough to go from an era of rampant homophobic violence to having a pride festival right in their backyard.
While I was talking to them I realized that back when I still lived in my hometown, the one I fled five years ago due to transphobic violence, Iād never seen a queer person over the age of 30. The oldest queer person I knew back then was my former coworker, a bi woman in her late 20s.
For the first time in my life Iām seeing real, tangible proof right in front of me that queer people get to grow old. We get gray hair and we have 50th anniversaries and we get to tell the younger generations about how far weāve come as a community and society. We get to grow old.
I hope I get to grow old too.
!!!
Lady in drive through had a bearded dragon sitting on her boobs and she held it up and let me pet it. killing myself canceled

Iām soooooo embarrassed. My lord told me āgood night,ā but I thought he was calling me a good knight, and, well, you could hear it clink against my codpiece.
