"bottom" please consider 𫵠whether the word you are looking for is in fact "submissive" ! because if we decide that taking dick means your personality & character r inherently subservient š we might as well just throw in the towel on the most basic premise of feminism & š« kill ourselves š
Would being called big dog fix me? Who knows?

"What's up, big dog; I'm ratsmacker" is going to live rent free in my head for a little while
Boys who up smacking they rat?
Every demographic of marginalised men on the planet expects the women they share a marginalisation with to simply shut up and tolerate the abuse they face from said men in the name of "not dividing the community". And yet every single time this comes up you get people batting as hard as they can for the supposedly liberatory right of men to tell women to shut up and telling you that you're only talking about it because they're [marginalisation you also experience]
I'm like if a
Who cares. Let's run away. I don't care anymore
I try not to go Back There. But the fact that the pop cultural legacy of the sequel trilogy is a million reylo clones with the serial numbers filed off to make them somehow even blander. When it should have been FINN it should have been characters like FINN we should have a BILLION thinly veiled ripoff Finns we should have a finnpoe or at least finnrey fanfiction industrial COMPLEX. Instead we have ALI HAZLEWOOD
The other day my wife told me about this influencer who said she needed to go on ozempic so she could go from 130 lbs down to 115 and I really cannot stress the degree to which we have so COMPLETELY lost the plot with this glp1 shit. Like not only are people are going on this shit for purely cosmetic purposes, the cosmetic purposes are delusional. This is the kind of mindset that gives people eating disorders but now because you can get a prescription instead of having to starve yourself or enduce vomiting a big swath of the general public seems eager to go along with it. Body Positivity did not go fucking far enough because I am being so real when I say that fatphobia is more of a public health crisis than obesity has ever been
People making a choice feminism argument for Ariana Grande looking skeletal have me feeling like this
"you don't know what you have until you lose it" works for things that suck too btw. sometimes you need to experience life without something for a while to realise oh damn that was some bullshit
So I missed episodes 1-3 of Utena and im catching up now and damn Utena literally accidentally became a slaveowner by trying to fight for her bestieās honor wtf
Again asking how in all the utenaposting Iāve seen for years the slavery is almost never mentioned. Anthy is first shown getting her ass beat by her āmasterā and then later is shown scrubbing rooms clean as one of the only darkskinned characters and thatās like 2 episodes in
Slavery really just doesnāt register to whites on the same level huh
Also to be clear - this is a very intentional and reoccurring theming in this. Itās not happenstance itās VERY explicit which makes the fact Iāve seen so little about it absolutely unhinged to me. Iāve only been through 6 episodes total so far and I cannot imagine discussing this beyond quips without the slavery being a huge factor bc it colors everything in a different light
Like the themes of assault/sexual assault arenāt just that of a woman, but of an enslaved woman. Themes of ensuring an enslaved, darker-skinned woman, knows and remembers āher placeā when seen to be reaching above her station solely by existing and being owned. Just.
Unironically I wouldāve watched this years ago if literally any of this came up it besides āomg lesbian trans-coded animeā
Thereās a bunch of people in my notes every time Iām utenaposting about āoh well *I* knew this and so does everyone else i know that watched it, itās so obviousā meanwhile most of the POC Iāve talked to say they had the same experience of not knowing Utena was strongly about slavery until they watched it bc they never saw (white) queer utena fans talking about it, or not knowing it was a theme until I posted about it despite seeing people post about RGU for years
So like yeag itās obvious but one of us lyin here and Iām gonna guess it aināt me and other queers of color
I need you to understand that while slavery in the US was/is of Black folks, and still exists in the US in multiple forms, there's also modern slavery of not just Black people, but Asian people as wellāone example being of Filipinos both within The Philippines and abroad.
Like while im making comparison to Black experience because I'm Black, I'm still reading Anthy as Indian AND as a slave because she is.
An important contextual note is that *Japan was also a colonial empire that focused its subjugation towards other Asians*. A bunch of Japanese and white/mixed folks treating Anthy. that way at a British-inspired Japanese boarding school isn't exactly a novel concept!
Subjugation of "lesser Asians" was(/is) a huge fucking thing!
lunno it's just wild to me to see people act like she'd have to be Black to be a slave when it's still a global issue.
The Girl. The God.
Feed her only ashes.
i swear to god if people don't start understanding that responding to doylist critique of a piece of media with watsonian exonerations is not an actual rebuttal
somebody saying "hey i don't like that the only gay man in this story is a weird pervert and it portrays gay sexual promiscuity as a moral failing and character flaw" cannot be rebuked by arguing about how the character's backstory or personality traits explain their behaviour. the choices made by a writer are all fundamentally mutable; somebody saying an author's choices should have been different is not going to be persuaded by an argument that takes those choices as immovable fact

#the way i laughed. you better listen lestat. you owe this man until your dying days. and then some! #there's something darkly funny about him being miffed about interrupting the recording. it's very in character but. come on. #it's an inherently a self-indulgent project (when it's not apparently a vampire recruitment project?!) #the vampire lestat who did not prevent it and the vampire sam who scripted it sitting in a recording booth #mired in lestat's grief sure but also his guilt. his deserved guilt. and turning that into art* #meanwhile the vampire louis. who did everything he could to save her. who has survivor's guilt from that very same sham trial. #is breaking down in grief in a baaad way. in a way that's getting dangerous to himself and others. #it's only right that helping louis do that should take precedence. it is obviously the more actionable penitence. #put down the Once montage lestat. take some real action! #*(when is art made in memorium an honor to someone's memory? when is it self indulgent/an affront? what if you're culpable? #you hope that writing songs is the confrontation he needs to try to make things right -- not the endpoint. that would feel self-serving. #i feel like there could be an interesting critique of vampirism and artistry here if they decide to pursue it.) #also -- something broke in me seeing louis asking for help. it's usually characteristic for him to know he wants a bad thing #and usually choose the most avoidant path and then hate himself for it for a hundred years. lol. #(often his Whole Thing is endless angst between knowing what's ārightā and knowing what he wants which isn't always ārightā #and not wanting to choose sometimes causing more problems than anything. the self-awareness is crucial to the problem.) #so it feels like such growth that he reaches out instead of letting the wounds (to himself; to others) fester. #and he reaches out to lestat of all people. who knew her so well (makes sense) but also who he so rarely and painfully asks for help. #i continue to think louis is a character who should get to make really terrible choices without being punished by the narrative for it. #he shouldn't have to be Saint Louis to deserve empathy. he should get to be complex! he should have agency! and fangs! #but i really don't think it's softening his edges to say that he turns this situation around with maturity that feels fresh. #he transgresses badly against both his moral code and what we the audience see as moral. then puts a swift end to it with a call for help. #but perhaps that deserves its own post lol #interview with the vampire #the vampire lestat #tvl 3x5 #tvl spoilers #loustat #i loved āyes okay.ā i am cherishing it. #that's lestat's (literal) baby for life. these are your maker duties - doubly so (claudia and louis)
