I REALLY try to not get “political” on my main accounts, but this is REALLY important.
The number listed in this post is specifically for phone CALLS. If you want to text The Trevor Project instead, you can send "START" to 678-678. You can also reach them via webchat at this link:
Please note that Trevor gets their funding partially from sources that legally require them to occasionally make reports to CPS and emergency services. They try to avoid this when possible, because they understand how these systems can harm queer folks, but this is something they are legally required to do in certain cases. If you're worried about the possibility of CPS/cop involvement, there are also some non-carceral crisis lines available!
Thrive Lifeline - A non-carceral webchat that is available on Wednesday nights to Thursday mornings (see site for most updated times):
Non-carceral crisis, warmline, and group support, centering multiply marginalized communities. Fully grassroots. Built by and for community.
Trans Lifeline - A non-carceral hotline for trans people to call in for support from other trans people on Mondays - Fridays (see site for most updated times):
US (877) 565-8860
CAN (877) 330-6366
Trans Lifeline’s Hotline is a peer support phone service run by trans people for our trans and questioning peers. Call us if you need someon
And here's some additional suggestions from inclusivetherapists.com
I don't know nearly as much about the other ones they list, but I've heard positive things about a few of them!
As much as I love The Trevor Project, it's very important to me that people make informed choices when reaching out for support. ACAB always and forever 💖
