Do you think Stratt ever looked at the security monitors, saw Grace completely passed out from exhaustion in the lab and announced through the speakers for everyone to hear, "Dr. Grace, go to bed"? Because I think that happened more than once.
The Vat probably constantly heard public announcements like "Dr. Grace, NO food in the lab", "Dr. Grace, I'm sure you have noticed it's dinner time. Head to the cafeteria this instant", "Dr. Grace, GO TO MEDICAL RIGHT NOW, OH MY GOD"
She's not yet aware of the gossip about their relationship status this causes.
(I mean, yeah, she has Carl on babysitter duty for Grace, but even he needs to take breaks or is needed elsewhere for short amounts of time)
It is a truth universally acknowledged that any character who hits the hands on hips pose while sighing in exhaustion automatically becomes Mama Duck to a bunch of wayward ducklings
In the sequel he gives Bob advice about styling his hair with the Farrah Fawcett spray
here's some thunderbolt stuff bc you cannot make me shut up about that movie
I think it was so incredibly different than a lot of the stuff marvel had been putting out and I think marvel needed it to be different
when it came out it hit me like twelve 18wheelers
yelena growing from that experience tho and giving Peter advice had to be one of the realest things
Bob being himself and struggling and trying to grow but being held back by addiction and depression was heartbreaking
Bob trying to save the five people on his entire lifetime who loved him for him and at the same time being consumed by his darkness was so just mmmmmm
the fact that they knew him for what two days and were like we have to help him out at least suffer together is too real
'daddy I'm so alone' enough is said
I honestly think it was a great way to show how different people grieve, and deal with anxiety, depression, and loneliness
like yelena turned to drinking, bob turned to addiction, ava ignored it, walker denied his hurt, alexi wanted to prove he wasn't useless, and bucky had mostly kinda accepted it for the most part and is trying to work through it
basically I think this movie talks really well about not only the physical downsides to being super beings but the mental and I think as someone who has experienced anxiety and depression it was a good representation of how it affects different people
You've been kidnapped but the main character of the last TV show you watched is coming to rescue you.
Whoâs rescuing you?
âIf they wanted too, they wouldâ wrong. I have executive dysfunction. go fuck yourself
âIf theyâre not showing you effort, theyâre not interestedâ bro I can barely show interest in my own hobbies. get down off your pedestal a moment
Hey. If people aren't aware, Microsoft admitted they know who you and where you are at all times and will give your info to the police.
They have a Global Device Identifier (GDID) Tracker that functions as a fingerprint for your PC that can surpass VPNs, proxy servers and countries. Although it can't survive a clean reinstall of Windows (it can survive updates), because Microsoft forces you to go to the internet and log in into a Microsoft account, they will be able to get to you.
Microsoft kept it secret and it was only found out when the FBI tracked a hacker thanks to the information Microsoft gave them.
You should be paying attention to this, and possibly consider moving away from Windows. If a government, especially the US government, doesn't like you for some reason, this could be seriously concerning.
This article specifically notes:
For journalism, activism, or domestic abuse situations, skip Windows and use Linux routed through Tor instead of a commercial VPN. A GDID doesnât care which VPN you use, only that itâs still the same Windows installation.
GDID is the persistent Windows ID that helped FBI trace a Scattered Spider hacker despite VPNs. Here's how it works and how to limit it.
Other important quotes:
What has researchers uneasy is everything else the case reveals. Costin Raiu, a well-known malware researcher, asked on the Three Buddy Problem podcast how much of this exists on other platforms, and whether it is linked more permanently to hardware. Matthew Hickey, another security researcher, called Windows âsurveillance softwareâ.
Two things back that up:
Thereâs no consent screen. A GDID gets assigned when you sign into a Microsoft Account. Appleâs advertising identifier needs an App Tracking Transparency prompt and a visible reset; Androidâs works the same way. GDID has neither, and a Windows reinstall only gets you a new number Microsoft can still get back to the same account.
Then thereâs activation. Massgrave, the group behind Microsoft Activation Scripts, notes that Windows setup sends hardware info to Microsoft and gets identifiers back, the same tokens later used for Store access and licensing: âItâs impossible to prevent Windows from getting a GDID without breaking activation and UWP app[s].â Anyone who lost a license after swapping a motherboard has already met a smaller version of this.
Here's the complaint filed to the court, the primary source for the case mentioned in the article. You can find mentions of GDID on page 30 of the document or 34 of the PDF.
Thank you @just-call-me-zinnia for finding it!
Tumblr people!! I've figured out a way to delete GDID from your computer!

I also made a PDF version!!
Please do me a favor, reblog for reach!! This went through several days of research and testing!! THANKS
You can get and use windows 11 without logging in with a microsoft account, as of five days ago. I am a local user on my computer. Don't ask me how to do it, because my computer repair guy did it when he reinstalled windows, but there are tutorials out there. Refuse to connect to internet until you're set up and can use the computer freely.
Refusing to connect to the internet doesn't help. You have to open a Command Prompt (Shift+F10) and typing start ms-cxh:localonly (and pressing enter) during installation when you get to the sign in/create stupid ms account screen
For comprehensive deets, tomshardware explains
Maintain only a local account on your Windows 11 PC.
Unless there's really really specific reasons to subject yourself to windows, please consider installing linux mint instead.

Bloodymary PSA
I have discovered I have inadvertently upset some Lung puritans with my openness towards Bloodymary and PHM.
I think Bloodymary is a testament to how far people are willing to bend the rules and throw logic out the window at the chance to uplift another. People would rather rip the narrative universe apart than let Simon drown in that ocean.
A large chunk of the audience chose to be perceived as cringe to jump at the chance to save someone who is objectively a monster. You treat Simon's mistreatment so seriously that you didn't even stop to correct the fact that I just spoke about Simon as if he were real right now. Truth of the matter is, he's a character... but your feelings about his story are real.
Simon is like your empathy practice training dummy and it's amazing to watch people become more human for it.
Don't you know how special that is? You went straight to hopecore and that is such a crazy thing to witness as someone who's been in depression for 15+ years. There was a very real chance that the general audience consensus would have been, "Simon deserved it" and moved on. Everybody knew this while they were developing the story. This movie was a social test and you all passed with flying colors.
You stubbornly provided rep to the disabled/mentally ill community with being so adamant about the struggle to survive what Simon did (at least, on the fix-it side of things). Which is an incredible feat all on its own. It's something nobody directly asked of you, yet you did anyway. You're actively fighting against the doomcore pessimistic approach to Iron Lung, and that's the entire point. It's supposed to wake you the fuck up and look at your life.
I've seen many people do their best to represent anger issues and address them without demonizing Simon and that is a HUGE step in social progress, empathy and media literacy, even when it's not 100% accurate, because by god you're trying. People are using Ryland Grace as a vessel for their own kindness. You guys wonder why he's OOC a lot and it's because people are writing themselves being nice to Simon and using Grace as a literary disguise! You're not slick.
Fandom is going to explore every facet under the sun, because that's the pinnacle of artistic expression. It dips into the horny, the weird, the tender, the fucked-up, the sweet, the mundane and fantastical. Your bitching is not going to stop that. You can't create enough hate campaigns in the world to stop human creativity.
We all have different opinions on what we like and what we don't. It's not anyone's job to dictate that for others, but rather find what we like and surround ourselves with it. See something you don't like? Scroll. I know I'm beating a dead horse, but it's true.
So, if I've pissed you off because I, an Iron Lung main, enjoy indulgent writing every now and then, fuck straight off, and also go do some soul searching, because you sound very insecure about some real important things.
If Markiplier himself doesn't get on camera, if David Szymanski or Andy Weir don't personally condemn it, then we have not been given the stop sign. Go fucking wild.
That is all, have a nice day.
rotating on erid grace still having a âdonât go crazy roomâ but initially that doesnât work for simon so heâs like âokay weâre building a rage roomâ and simon honestly likes it in there sometimes but i want. a two-shot fic. of simon getting to a point where heâs like ââŠcan we hangout in the donât go crazy roomâ and itâs just a soft, and cozy time. next chapter? grace is having a goddamn DAY and simon notices and offers the rage room key and just kind of. watches outside as grace takes a crowbar to everything. kind of enjoying the view but also âgoddamn i am glad i didnât ask to go in there with him, he clearly needed a moment alone for this.â
I think we should figure out what age weâre living in now so we can say how itâs collapsing to each other
Our age of plastics is collapsing
Our age of information is collapsing! *remembers generative AI, nods to self* our age of information is collapsing.
unpopular opinion probably but I actually like that ao3 doesnât let people take back their kudos.
unlike social media platforms (which ao3 is not) where people unlike stuff whenever they think or find out the original postersâ moral compass doesnât perfectly align with their ownâs or whatever, and âlikesâ can be taken back at any time, ao3 treats kudos as something sacred. once you give it, itâs the authorâs to keep forever.
Best part is if someone deletes their account, the kudos remains, and it just gets swapped over to a guest kudos instead. The body is gone but the love remains.
Someone to be brave for.

no way in hell
hey stop being funnier than me on my own post
Itâs late and Iâm tired, but I crave ColtlandGentry x Bloodymary angst.
Someone tries to get at Court by taking his little brothers hostage. Court rushes save them but when he gets there he finds the hostage taker already dead. Colt is upset but unharmed. Ryland is holding Simon close and speaking softly to him. Simon never wanted to kill anyone. He hates that heâs so good at it. He just wanted to keep the people he loves safe.
a talking point i often see when defending the consumption of dark content is that itâs a coping mechanism for those with trauma which is very valid and true but i also want to make this abundantly clear: you can like dark content for no reason. you can enjoy fucked up shit in fiction because itâs enjoyable and entertaining. trauma is not required as a ticket for entry. enjoy your dark content bc itâs fun and sexy and donât let anyone take that away from you
sometimes the reason is this
reblog if you love to see that shit that was fucking crazy
Mutated Simon whose mouth and lower face opens up like the animatronics from fnaf sister location but no one but the Erdians and Grace know about it.
Imagine them visiting earth and of course the humans from earth are like interested in this Martian who Grace picked up from but fuck nowhere in space so they crowd around him and then Simon lets out a hiss while his circus baby mouth opens revealing a shit ton of teeth and the scientist all jump back all scared cause tf while Grace has a dreamy look on his face.
âAwww, I love his kitten hisses.â
âThe fuck kind of kittens do you have-â
They all think Grace has went insane in space and then Grace kisses Simon on his teeth cause his mouth bits are still open to calm down his boyfriend and theyâre like âoh yeah he lost his damm mindâ
The tomb of a pastor's wife and stillborn child in a church in Hindelbank, Switzerland, 1751, depicting their resurrection.
@banana-with-a-bow-tie I agree with Citrus Iâm sobbing thanks
Oh, a colleague of mine just wrote her PhD dissertation on this!
This is the Grave of Maria Magdalena Langhans by Johann August Nahl. Nahl was hosted by the pastor and his pregnant 28yo wife Maria Magdalena when she died during childbirth. Moved by this, he decided, by himself and without being commissioned to do so by anyone to make this grave for her. It became a huge place of pilgrimage for the next 150 years.
