Dude, all those crimes still have victims, even if they’re not aware of it themselves. I think they’re referring more to something like smoking weed and getting 5-10 for it
“Victim” is ambiguous. If you are not hindered, if it doesnt negatively affect you, the. It can be argued that you arent a victim.
Just like how marijuana arguably does have victims (see the comment about marijuana’s effect on developing brains (age 25-26 and below). You could argue that other things like smoking cigarettes or drinking also have negative effects on the body, but that wouldnt keep it from the group of crimes that “still have victims”.
The point of the response was to in fact change their mind (the original guy in the picture welcomes different opinions). That something arguably not having victims doesnt necessarily mean that the person shouldnt be punished for it.

Plus smoking and drinking biologically effects one person and only one, and that’s the person doing it to themselves. I’m of the mind that you control your own life and if you fuck yourself up in the process because of drugs or alcohol, then it’s on you to deal with that, not the government
I understand your opinion, but simply saying they are victims isnt really enough. I argued that if there is no financial, physical, emotional, or physiological damage, no burden at all, then the person was not victimized.
Also the argument of “this only effects one person and only one” can be used for crimes that you are actually against. Someone making and using meth in their own home only affects them, the one person, but that doesnt make it suddenly okay. Literally minors abusing drugs and alcohol can be argued to only affect them. That doesnt make it okay to sell or give them drugs and alcohol. In addition, especially with things that get you high, it arguably isnt just about you. What you do while high can affect others. But that is a separate conversation.

These all still have victims, even if they aren’t aware of it
And minors are one thing, people at the age of 20 are, in most countries and states, legally old enough to buy alcohol or tobacco products. Hence my point: if you’re making that choice, you’re living with that choice
Again, you have to give an actual reason why they have victims instead of just saying they are victims.
If nothing is damaged, they dont know and arent inconvenienced in any way, i can easily argue that no one was victimized.
If your child is comfortable in a locked and temperature controlled car, it can be argued that they arent victims.
If the saliva doesnt harm the customer and the customer doesnt know then there is no victim.
Legal drinking age differs from country to country. 21 isnt backed by any real scientific data. It is just the decided upon age. Go to Japan and it is lower. Go to France and it is lower than that. And their minors are just fine. So it can be argued that there is no real victim. At least no more than adults under 26 who drinks. That, as you say, it is just their personal choice. Legality of age restrictions doesnt change this and actually aids the argument that the government deciding smething is bad makes it bad.
You kind of prove my point by getting angry at these. You know that they are wrong even if no one is inconvenienced by them. You want people who do this tobe punished even though there are no real “victims”. Which was my point. Something not having “victims” doesnt mean it should go unpunished.
Leaving a child or dog in a car without A/C on is endangering their health via increasing the likelihood of heat stroke, and in the case of a child is possibly isolation torture.
Trespassing and taking pictures of your home is a violation of personal space which could then manifest as a loss of feelings of safety and development of paranoia.

Driving someone’s car and then returning it to them is putting mileage and wear on the car which could create financial repercussions in the future.
A lot of the other examples include the end result, e.g. a butcher GIVEN he will never sell tainted meat. This is assuming the end state, but the problem is the crime here is not the harm itself it is the increased probability of a bad end. Endangerment of the public, instead of a tangible harm.
