I (We) are very much working on Development in Doom

I’ve re-written part of the beginning to better suit the rest of the “Horrifying Ordeal of Being Taller” Story which has been entirely and pretty competently mapped out, this time by both myself and my essential co-writer @zim-possible​ (we chose the name together <3 in’n that cute, or sum shit?)… That being said,  I and a crew of nothing but hard-working, pen-totin’, Invader ZiM ZaDr fan-art’n essential line artists and colorists are bringing together a better and stronger version of Development in Doom thAT YOU CAN NOw COWER AND TrEMBLE BENEAAATH!!!!  that is now kind of ready in the form of Revision: page 4: “ZiM being called ‘baby.’” I hope you find it amazing as I do and I fucked up my arm so I’m fixing the other pages,too but not in like a week so… You’ve got that going for you!

lo and behold… the zadr megamind au!!! me n my friends who came up with this are so excited to share AHH quick explanation: its not beat for beat like the movie, it just steals a lot from it!! the basic premise is zim is like openly an alien on earth trying to take over, but prof membrane constantly stops him. when zim “kills” prof membrane, dib takes over membrane labs and its now his job to stop zim. to spy on dib, zim puts on a disguise and tries to get to know dib and oops are they falling in love? are they going on dates? is zim hanging out with dib at his lab and lowkey helping dib with his plans to stop himself lmfao? yes. yes to all of it. they are gay. theres also a whole side plot with keef but thats not important whats important is that zim and dib are in love thanks for coming to my ted talk

Headcanon #2

⚠️Spoilers for Dib's a Wonderful Life ⚠️

Out of pure speculation, here's two possible hints I realized in the episode to foreshadow that the plot was a simulation made by Zim. They very well can be completely stupid but here's a rant.

1) Zim's responses to Dib in the simulation.

Dib deals with Zim twice in the episode, once while making him surrender, and once to learn of the Irken armada. Both times, the simulation of Zim acts particularly awkward compared to other simulated characters. He stiffly states he surrenders to authorities with no fight, and he assumes what Dib might say when Dib sees him as an adult. Why? Possibly because Zim, being himself, decided to actually be himself in the simulations, and therefore he is not as fluid as other characters, and stumbles slightly. Course, this could also be purely comedic purposes, or something.

2) The Irken Armada actually shows up.

Whether meant to save Zim or merely complete his mission, the insertion of the Irken Armada is a sad, bit clear sign that the events are not real. Why? Cause as we've seen, the Tallest do not even want to go near Earth, even in the next episode Backseat Drivers. But, Zim is rather delusional, and denies this, so it is clear that he believes the tallest would go. Sadly, this shows the simulation was just that, as in truth, the Irkens would even celebrate the demise of Zim.
