Okay please read this whole article because there is important information in ther, including;
1. She never yells at her students- her record breaking 121 decibel shout happened during an event she’d been invited to. She was defending her title after setting the previous shouting record during a competition at a church camp, where she got to 119.4 decibels
2. The only reason she entered the first competition was because her twin sister had entered and was about to win with a shout of 119.1 decibels.
3. They took her to an expert to try to understand how she shouted so very loud and his conclusion was that her supernatural volume was fueled entirely by her need to beat her sister.
Imho the idea of ‘cruelty free’ products or food shouldn’t mean that nothing died to create it, but rather that anything and anyone involved in the creation process hasn’t been exploited or harmed.
Leather is good actually. Veganism isn’t the end all be all to morality and consumption. The issue isn’t that a chicken died for those nuggets, but that while the chicken was alive, it’s life fucking sucked. Vegan chocolate means little if the cocoa that made it was gathered by child slave labor.
Factory farms, abuses of the people who pick the fruit and vegetables we eat, the focus profit and productivity over all else - that’s the fucking issue here. It’s capitalism folks.

Doesn’t mean lasers are evil, just tells you what to think of when you play with one with your cat. Laser-play suggestions:
Reward your cat after they catch it! This can be a treat (laser off once caught - get their attention - toss or offer treat. Pick healthy/tiny treats if this happens often) or a toy that you then toss for them to actually catch. The usefulness here is you throw half the toys you would without a laser. Rewards play into the catch/eat of a cat’s hunt-catch-eat internal natural method.
Overwork - Natural Method: 1. Move the laser between ‘hiding’ spots the cat has to investigate/hunt, like the dot goes into a paper bag! Or under the dresser! Then is off so the cat has to inspect the place to find it. This is calmer than the frantic chase - though the zoomy chase can play a useful role! You should include breaks for the cat where you throw a kicker toy once the cat is worked up so they’re so wild they just attack it. Rewarded in the process, and still tuckered enough to maybe let you sleep tonight. 2. Move the dot along the edges/perimeters in a paced way with little pauses, mimicking a lil creature. The amount of jerk/length of pause/speed when moving can all play into whether a specific cat is interested, so adjust and see what gets the pupils big.
Injury - Including breaks and rewards can reduce the risk of injury, but pay attention to your cat and consider their usual health. If the laser is not routinely brought out, then be gentle with it. Consider the slip-nature of the current floor, the height your cat may jump from, don’t have them take sharp corners unless it is a very open space.
People love to make rules to ‘be safe’ but you can just… be safe about how you do things if you think about it before you do it? Most of the time.

honestly really hate how most of the people i follow on social media now “act” like influencers. how my friends will pose in the most outlandish poses i know they didn’t come up with and how they will film their hotel stays and beach vacation days and post it to their stories with some shitty dubstep over it like they’re filming an ad or something. how one of my friend groups gathered at this bar instead of the other because “this one will give us better pics” honestly just hate all of it
not to sound like a boomer but i miss the pictures in vacations where people would just go \o/ you know? like they literally just went “yay i’m here!” i miss that. i miss seeing the kind of pics like shitty pics my mom took of the inside of her hostel when she backpacked through europe not because she wanted to show anyone but because she wanted to remember it or the random shots of chairs and posters she just thought looked cool. i miss taking pictures with people and not thinking about my angles. i miss just doing things without performing them
to be clear this isn’t me dunking on any my friends or anyone that does this, it’s not the people that bother me it’s the cultural phenomenon. i just hate that it feels like there is one “right” way to experience things now and if you don’t do it then your experiences aren’t as valid
