Adding some salt, I know that the speech given by the MP who put forward this private bill was rediculous but on the same day the Nationals re-affirmed that they're going to have another crack at the Religious Discrimination Act and to do that they need to change the Sex Discrimination Act to broaden their loophole for discrimination after its last ammendment to include protections for LGBQTIA+ And I'm just reminding people that Albosleezy chose to deny the promise that they would increase protections for LGBTQIA+ against religious discrimination already, so we're not up against 'just some nationals'

I've seen multiple itterations of "The bill is very unlikely to pass" and that is a pretty bad take to say with confidence like things such as the plebicite didn't do damage, or that the campaigns surrounding the bill wont do damage, or the gathering sympathy from people who are just trying to do the right thing wont side with them This is why being vocal now about opposing it is important, "It won't pass" is how they creeped their way up to calling trans people terrorist in the US, they didn't need it to pass immediately they just needed to build up hate and tensions to the point where they don't need a bill to socially destroy and murder trans people
