Millipede is just rolly-polly the long way
One year ago, trans women held an iconic topless protest outside the Scottish Parliament. I love it when trans women hold topless demonstrations. If they're arrested, the state must admit they're women. If they aren't, it exposes the obvious contradictions of defining trans women as legally male.
Now, a year later, Parliament has its first two transgender members, one of whom represents JK Rowling in Edinburgh. We can't attribute this momentum solely to the protest, but the direct action seems to have galvanized a new political movement of trans people across Scotland.
This is transfeminism!

Applied behavior analysis has long been considered the gold standard. Now, people who have been through it are pushing back.
"Based on data gleaned from the nearly 10 million military dependents it insures, the U.S. Department of Defense has repeatedly called the evidence supporting ABA “weak,” noting there is no research to determine whether the small number of participants who show improvement — 15% — do so because of treatment or simply because a child has matured. After a year of the therapy, the department reported to Congress in 2019, 76% of 16,000 participating autistic children saw no change, and 9% worsened."
Okay before we get anyone on here saying "water is wet", here are some other bullet points about the article.
The article uses proper terminology and actually defines stimming, masking, and many other words that neurotypical people may or may not know (re autism)
The data that the article is based off of includes first hand accounts from autistic people who have gone through ABA. The researchers even used ASAN (autism self advocacy) as a resource! Actual autistic people shared their stories!!! And they believed us!!!!!
It explains WHY autistic people have a hard time with ABA, which is incredible. Not just the fact that it's akin to training a dog, but the psychology of it, and how it's overstimulating and degrading
There's a part that does quote from Auti$m $peaks spokespeople, BUT it's because they're leading into how neurotypical parents see ABA most often as a "saving grace" to get a "normal child" and then goes on to tell more about how autistic children perceive ABA, both during and after treatment
One family's story tells of how a mother noticed her autistic son would actually hide when she went to turn the computer on for ABA therapy (this was during COVID lockdown) and how she realized something was off because of that. She canceled ABA and found an alternative (called Floor Time) where the child actually directs the play, and the therapist/teacher goes along with what the kid wants/does!
There's a really cool bit on why ABA is usually the only thing available to parents, and the answer is Shitty American Healthcare/Insurance Companies!
It notes that ABA therapists don't really have strict training requirements. You can do a quick online course and become an ABA therapist. It does not require a college degree. That should horrify you.
There's another parallel study with its own data coming out in 2025
Honestly, this whole article is a gem. Remember, while "water is wet" studies seem trivial, we need them in order to get our side of the story taken seriously. Research with credible data that backs up what we've been saying is important!
TL; DR?
Huge study with lots of input from autistic people tells us ABA sucks!
Thank you for this addition. A better encouragement for this article than I managed!
50/50 shot the guy who killed Kirk is some groyper
Looking increasingly like an irony poisoned groyper
apparently he was a mormon, trump cosplayer, trump donor, and registered non partisan voter.
so yea basically
ok im not saying we shouldn't laugh at this fucking bozo getting what was coming to him but we should also be really really really careful to not get so caught up in the jubilation of bloodlust that it prevents us from soberly considering the consequences of these events and how they may make things worse for us.
and also like yeah this guy was a disgusting excuse for a worthwhile human being and he absolutely had a major hand in the progress of fascism in america. but like. even as we are laughing we need to keep in mind that this was a complete, complex human being who had some corner of his heart, however tiny and disused, that was decent. if we push that out of mind, if we simply reduce these people to targets, we will become too quick and thoughtless in our assessments of violence, and that will always take you to a very bad place. it will cause people to do stupid things, to over-expose themselves, to take dumb risks, to push things that ought not be pushed. keeping the humanity of these people in mind is a tactical and strategic necessity. we cannot allow ourselves to forget the weight of the loss of even a single human life, how it will evoke responses from others. particularly so we do not allow ourselves to think we're fundamentally different from people who enact evil in our lives. so, laugh, as i am, but remember this was a man even if we all think we're better off with him dead.
I'm just concerned to see how some people are getting enthusiastic about this, and the prospect of broader violence, without knowing or understanding anything about that world. we need to be really careful and we need to not lose ourselves. or lose sight of how this may hurt us. or how this may even be rhetorically useful for the regime.
why is this post completely broken in every way imaginable
Broken notes… deactivated account… removed image….
Finally, we have them all.

It wandered across mine. I shall help it travel forward.
As will I.
Dudes healthcare is so fake. My ADHD meds are $940 without insurance. But they gave me a website of "coupons" which straight up looks like a scam website, and I got it today for $60! Just a coupon from a random website and it was $900 cheaper. America, I am confusion!! America explain!!
For all my uninsured judys out there it's for Walgreens only: walgreens.rxsense.com
as a pharmacy technician i can share with you some websites that give you those "coupons" for your meds!
goodrx is the most well known one, but if i'm trying to find the cheapest price for a patient i compare it to scriptcycle, and use whichever is offering the best price. you just type in the medication (PLEASE make sure you're getting the right drug, dosage, and quantity) and your zip code and they will spit out some offers for you
some pharmacies may have their own discount card to compare to as well!
if you are getting a name brand medication, you can also look at the manufacturer's website to see if they offer any evouchers for you to use too
good luck out there 👍
How to Pay Hospital Bills When You’re Flat Broke
another one is singlecare.com, brought my duloxetine from $240 a month to $20
