Rowan can only really cook meat most of the time, though he enjoys baking more than cooking.

Carrie can cook but doesn’t do it most of the time because she doesn’t really need to.

Ocean is more qualified to be a waitress than a cook. Not because she’ll burn the kitchen down but because she’ll might miss or mix up the ingredients and instructions that will result in a horrific concoction against her god.

Gemma is practically a cooking prodigy - thanks to their grandparents owning one of the most popular restaurants in town for nearly 35 years. It’s their biggest pride.

“August! You wouldn’t believe what I ran into today!” Lucky bubbled excitedly, her hazel eyes shining bright. Their chest heaving with exertion. August couldn’t help but give her the side-eye; it wasn’t unusual for her to come by this excited. But something about xheir current excitement feels different. “What…?” He asked hesitantly.

Lucky smiled, showing the front tooth gap on her upper row. She smelled like seaweed and salt water; which was surprising since she’s supposed to be a freshwater fish. But maybe they wanted something less crowded than the lakes since they get crowded during this time of year. ”Maybe Oregon’s beaches aren’t as appealing” August always thought to himself. He wouldn’t really know. He would rather bask in the sun than swim. Not because he couldn’t swim because spring and summer were one of the few times when he didn’t have to constantly wear winter clothes and constantly worrying about freezing to death.

Lucky’s legs still had their fish scales on them - the same color as her hair. “I was doing errands in the Water-Living Tribe earlier today.” Lucky started off. “And when I left the ocean I saw the most beautiful-looking woman I’ve ever seen! Lying on the beach!”. “You said that last week” August whispered. “No, no, no, no - you don’t understand!” Lucky rambled. ”She had beautiful glossy olive skin with arm-sleeve tattoos, powder blue eyes, honey blonde hair, and had this gorgeous rhinestone fuchisa colored one-piece swimsuit on!”.

Lucky had this dreamy look in their eyes. The same look that pre-teen girls would have when talking about their favorite boy-band. Even though everyone knows that it was nothing more than just aesthetic attraction; something that would fade in a few days. “Wow” August said sarcastically, his front feathers puffing out. “Pfft- you’re no fun!” Lucky teased him - playfully hitting him on the arm. Making August roll his eyes.

The smell of burning coal and smoldering steel invaded Rowan’s nostrils, the heat making him feel like he was back in California again. Dragons from varying ages and species filled the open room - a giant furnace in the middle where the smaller dragons kept alight with little puffs of their fire breath. “Didn’t realize that blacksmithing was popular here” Rowan observed; acutely aware of how much smaller he was compared to the other dragons. “Mostly with the fire-breathing kinds. Makes the process a lot easier” Carrie said. Still in her human form and casual sitting on Rowan’s shoulder. “But…why? Why would dragons be interested in that?” Rowan questioned. Carefully maneuvering through the crowd.

Passing by dragons shaping swords on anvils, smelting down bricks of metallic ore, dumping orange-glowing steel in water that made it boil loudly, some even doing glasswork. The sound of metal hitting metal echoing through the room. “A newcomer, huh?” An older dragon said when he noticed the two youngsters. “Yeah!” Carrie quickly replied with enthusiasm. “I’m just showing my friend around the dragon realm, he’s a new dragon”. The older dragon smiled “alright then, let me show you how it’s done”

Never in my entire existence had I genuinely enjoyed something that’s considered “fancy” and don’t you dare say that I’m just a “whiny picky eater” my grandparents literally own a restaurant and I’ve been cooking for myself since I was 8.

Just because it costs more than most people’s rent and is from Europe doesn’t mean it’s good!

Some more explanation on both Rowan and “Albert” (because I’ve been neglecting ya’ll with the story for the blog)

When Rowan’s mother first became pregnant with him, she originally was going to have twins but during the third mark- “Albert” seemingly had vanished from the womb.

When in reality, she experienced what would be “vanishing twin syndrome” (which is a type of miscarriage that occurs when one of the embryos stops growing and gets absorbed by the other twin/mother.

And due to this, it caused both of their souls to practically fuse together and force them to share a body together- which is just torture most of the time.

Rowan didn’t even know about “Albert’s” existence, thinking he was just a random voice in his head that occasionally appeared time to time.

It was after some time after a traumatic event that occurred in the forest where “Albert” finally made his presence known to his brother and made Rowan develop a “werewolf mentality” with him.

No one besides Rowan knows about his existence- not even the crew knows about him-and both of them prefers to keep it that way.
